I go to QFC twice a week. You can find almost everything you are looking for. The most outstanding service that this QFC offers is a daycare. You can drop off your child(ren) while you shop at QFC, including Starbucks, (not Einstein Beagle) up to 1 hour. The staff at the daycare looks very experienced, so you can rely on them. read more

I shopped there at 6:30 am. The sanitizing wipe container at the entrance was empty. Half the workers had face masks positioned below their noses and 2 had no face masks at all. There were no checkers, only self check out. An employee offered to help. She seemed frustrated that I hadn't brought my own bags, which were not allowed last time I was in a store. She had a generally bad attitude. I complimented her on knowing so many codes by heart and she said that wasn't hard compared to having to deal with the public all day. Really. I bet there are a lot of people who would love to have her job dealing with the public. Done with this location. read more

I typically appreciate shopping at this location, but had a bad experience at the deli that will change my shopping habits. I was alone waiting at the deli counter while three workers behind the counter cleaned, chatted with each other, looked over and didn't acknowledge or ask what I needed. When I spoke up I got blank stares. When I mentioned that I'd give feedback regarding the poor service I got the answer 'go ahead'. I supplied feedback to QFCs website regarding the lack of service at the deli, have yet to hear back one week later (that's consistent with the treatment I received at the deli, surprise!). Lots of great groceries and delis in the city, this QFC isn't one of the good ones. Shop at a location that gives a **** that you're spending your hard earned cash with them. read more

This is the nicest QFC I've ever visited. It is located on the edge of the University Village, and has a large variety of choices in every food category. They also feature a well stocked cheese selection and deli options for people on the go. The self check out can get a little crazy due to the layout, but overall this is a fine grocery store. read more

Once upon a time the Washington State Liquor Control Board was the king of the hill. A massively profitable monopoly, the state didn't even have to try. Sadly, for many entrepreneurs who cashed in their 401Ks, borrowed money from family members or resorted to other financing methods, the promise of simply taking a state-owned store and turning it into a profitable free-market operation was easier imagined than accomplished. As documented in a March 2, 2014 Seattle Times article (http://seattletimes.com/html/politics/2023034366_liquorbillxml.html), the survival rate of those stores--often purchased at auction at a substantial premium--has been abysmal with an estimated 60% of stores having closed in the first two years. Of course not every store previously operated by the Washington State Liquor Control Board was sold to individuals. Some, such as the liquor store attached to the University Village QFC were sold to billion dollar multi-national companies. Which leads to the question: QFC, how could you suck at running this store even more than the state did? There was once a time when this location was one of the most popular liquor stores in the state. Now it's like an ironic adult Halloween display--the ghosts of liquor stores past, complete with narrow aisles, a lousy selection and a bearded hipster sales guy who just stands behind the register and scowls (seriously!) at you. Let me take a step back. It was a Sunday afternoon and I was feeling crappy with a cold. Still the kids needed food and the fridge was bare so off to QFC I drudged to pick up some essentials. A pretty full cart later, I was done but had an idea...Hot Toddy. For those not in the know, a Hot Toddy is a mix of hot water, honey, whiskey, lemon and spices such as nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon. It is universally recognized as a miracle cure for the winter crud. Oh but mixing all those ingredients seemed like an awful lot of work. Surely there's got to be an easier way--like a mix. This'll be easy. I'll just roll my fully loaded cart around the corner from the QFC grocery store and pop into the QFC liquor store next door. Yes, you read that right. Roll my cart around the corner. As in, the QFC grocery store and QFC liquor store, despite being under the same roof, are completely segregated. As in, you can buy wine in the grocery, but if you also want to buy anything harder--even Bailey's, it's a completely separate transaction in a completely different store. But wait, it gets worse. As I reached the store, the automatic door opened and I pushed my cart into the store only to be cock-blocked by an enclosed pen with a one way turnstyle. You can't even bring your shopping cart into the store. With no choice except to turn around and leave or abandon my cart and move forward, I chose the latter. "Holy crap, what a tiny dump this place is", I thought to myself. It's like the QFC store management decided that the state run store was too nice and fancy and looked to Soviet era Eastern European commerce as a guide for what to do with the store. Tiny aisles. Lousy assortment. Snarling associate. I spent a few minutes looking for my Hot Toddy mix and not finding it, I made the decision to abandon my search. I briefly considered asking if the store carried the mix, but the associate cast such an air of antagonism that all I really wanted to do was get out of there. Except for one problem. My cart was on the other side of a one-way turnstyle. I literally had to go out the exit door, walk over to the entrance and re-enter to grab my cart and back it out. Way to spare no expense QFC. Apparently the $321,000 that QFC spent purchasing the location from the state eradicated whatever might have been left over for remodeling or expansion. An utter failure from any conceivable perspective and a shocking display of ineptitude from a company that generally provides a very nice customer experience. Postscript: A couple of days later I found myself back at Total Wine and More and and they didn't have the Hot Toddy mix either. Guess I'm gonna have to actually make myself the drink from scratch. read more

The store was packed with nary an employee to be found, except for the ones working behind counters. I asked the sushi guy where I could find salsa. He looked at me and said, "I have no idea." rudely. No smile. No apology. Nothing. Just a rude look on his face. It would have been fine if he had been polite. I understand that a newer employee may not know where everything is. I don't understand rudeness. Are the QFC sushi people employees of QFC? Perhaps they're not. I don't know. All I know is that guy was unnecessarily rude to me for no reason when he didn't have to be. read more

I shop here from time to time. It's a good store but that changed when I tried to get a Medina sandwich from the deli. I just asked to "skip the mayonnaise" and what the elderly deli guy said was plain poor customer service. And unbelievably, the other deli guy reinforced what he said. He said "this is already made with mayonnaise. I can't make one for you without mayonnaise." Then the other guy said "if you really want one, you gotta fill out an order form." I was in disbelief at what I heard. I always get the same sandwich at QFC in Mercer Island without the mayo and I never got told off by the deli people there. read more

Better than your average QFC. Store is clean and has a good selection of fresh vegetables and fruits including Asian ones. The one confusing thing I encountered recently though was that hummus is located in 3 different cold shelving areas in the deli area. read more

This is the best of the QFCs, in my opinion. I live in Fremont and it's possible that there are three other QFCs closer to me; Interbay, Ballard, and Wallingford (not sure of the exact mileage but they'd be just as easy to get to and I don't care about going to any of 'em). They're fine, but they're just grocery stores and both the Interbay and Wallingford outlets feel cramped and worn. Which is not a problem when all you want is to pick up some stuff and combat your hunger. Not every shopping experience has to leave you feeling like you've gone on safari, but if you want that vibe (and I do like it), this is the store for it. I go there at way off hours like 1:00 am or 5:00 am, so parking is a breeze and it's just so huge and so shiny it's an experience in itself. The floral department alone is crazy wonderful. There's one guy who works in the store who, the minute he sees my glazed expression, asks if he can help me find something. What I really think is going on is that he's seen the signs of overwhelm in people in that store and really, honestly wants to get you to your goal, whereas my own preference is just to get lost in the condiments section or wherever else they have 100 different kinds of something. Who knew there was artisan KETCHUP, of all things?! For a long time, I didn't even realize that there's yet another cheese aisle in addition to the kiosk AND the carousels by the deli, because it's an interior aisle, while I expect to find cheese and packaged lunch meats on the outside edges. Anyway. It goes on and on. I love that store. read more

Nice store with ample parking. I appreciate that they have in-store security that are visible and seen when entering. Staff are friendly and store is very clean. The one downside(especially this Summer) is that they sell a lot of moldy/old pre-packaged fruit. Primarily blackberries, strawberries and blueberries. Make sure to check the fruit that is visible very good before you buy(especially if it is on sale) or you might be disappointed when you get it home. read more

I don't want to single this particular QFC out, but I hate QFC. They have the ads in the paper that lure you in, then you get there and find out they don't even have the stuff you need. I couldn't even find plain egg noodles at QFC. The stuff they do have is premium priced, and they don't even have the specialty items I'm looking for. Bottom line, if you're gonna charge premium pricing for goods, you better have premium product available. For QFC prices I'd rather go to Whole Foods or Metropolitain Market where I can find specialty goods more easily. That's all I gotta say. read more

I was hosting a UW graduation dinner for my niece. Even though I thought I had obsessed every detail, I realized my ambiance was not quite right. So the morning of my party 6:45am I knew I had a serious problem. I grabbed my phone in bed and called the QFC at Uvillage and connected with the floral department. "Do you make floral arrangements if people bring in their own vases?" "Sure, just bring it in a day before you need it". Ugh. I said oh, ok, "I'm going to have to come up with another plan". But no, the lady from QFC floral department said "mmmmm, we might be able to make something work, but it will take a few hours. Long story short, I brought two vases in and the manager (I think she was the manager) arranged two phenomenal centerpieces by 9am. GORGEOUS SPECTACULAR. That night, I'm pretty sure more photos were taken of the flowers than of the graduate. read more

I was very disappointed in the response I got from a QFC manager after discussing a parking ticket I received during FidoFEST ($43!!@!) U VIllage asked everyone to park in the garage. There was no parking available in the garage or anywhere close to the event and it was pouring down rain that day. As a person helping with the event, and not really familiar with the Village, I parked in the only place I could find -- a spot in the QFC lot as far away from the store as possible. I saw that they had a 90 min limit. I parked there then left after 90 min to run my child to another event. When I came back 30 min later I parked back in the same spot and ran in the store to buy some plastic bags for FidoFEST. When I came back to leave 90 min llater, I had a ticket. I understand that QFC wants to maintain parking for their store customers. However, I would also think they would want to act like a good citizen of their community. In a situation like this where there was no parking except in their lot, there was an event being held for charity and it was raining like crazy I would have thought they could be a bit more lenient with their extra spaces. It wasn't like I had parked in a spot next to the store and it wasn't like I hadn't purchased anything there. I was told by both U Village AND QFC there was nothing they could do. I know there IS something they could do -- they just don't want to. It really burns me up. I won't be shopping EVER at that QFC again. read more

This place is great. Has plenty of kosher products, which is important to me. The staff is very helpful, and will stay with you for as long as it is needed to get your questions answered. They have an amazing cheese selection, and all green staff is always very fresh. It doesn't hurt that they are open 24/7, and you can do all the shopping late at night when it is not busy. read more

You can sometimes fight for a parking space, depending on the time of day, but the deli is usually serving up something good, and they have lots of kosher foods (prepared, deli, frozen and fresh) which brings back memories of growing up on Long Island, NY. read more

I told him I didn't know and to ask someone else because i didn't work for QFC (I work for sears A&E) and headed for the deli. I cringe each time an employee bags for me; I know I will need to move everything around within my several bags of groceries to make sure the produce doesn't mush and my eggs don't spill out! Isn't it common sense NOT to place a six-pack of beer atop bananas and Kale?? I'm not a bagging fanatic, but there is an order to how items get tossed into a bag. It never fails...every single time I shop here and have too much to self-check I get an incompetent bagger! In addition, the employees are not so friendly compared to the Broadway QFC. read more

This is the best all around grocery store in town and what I rate everyone else against. Tons of produce with lots of organic. Big deli. Lots of beers. Tons of wine, and the guys who work wine are helpful and nice. Lots of kosher food. The seafood sells quickly, so it's always fresh. Tons of specialty type items you won't find at most grocery stores. The highest ratio of normal people working the checkout. If I had to find something to improve, I guess they could use more organic beef and lower prices on the cleaning products. But they have red curry paste. Seriously. read more

This is my neighborhood grocery store, so I go there nearly every day and sometimes multiple times a day. The selection is decent. It's Kroger, so slightly higher than average prices, but not much more. Their upstairs health food section has a good selection. The staff has always been helpful and nice. I always enjoy seeing Amy there, although everyone does a good job. Parking is plentiful considering the neighborhood, but getting in and out can be a bit of chore sometimes due to the nearby intersection and pedestrian traffic. I've been going there for six years now and I can't recall anything to complain about. read more

This QFC is the best that I have seen so far. It is HUGE! Now, some of you may snarl however I'm not a fan of Costco or any place with a "Super" in it. I look for great selection, meats, fresh veggies and decent prices. When it comes to what I eat, I generally want something that will taste amazing and prolong my awesomeness. I don't usually have a need for 100% organic but like to mix it up once in a while. I grew up with Publix and stores in the southeast and I am 100% a fan of QFC. read more

It's clean and fancy and nice and I am quite partial to grocery shopping but they are a bit over priced and I have actually never Been helped by any employee there, even though I obviously am there very often. This is one of the worst QFCs. I go here because I live nearby, but many times I will drive up to the Roosevelt QFC just so I don't have to deal with U Village. For such a large store, they never have what I'm looking for. Basic things like bread or pork. It is always ridiculously crowded even at night. The customer service is nonexistent. You can wait at the deli counter or the bakery for years before you're noticed and the most you get is a grunt when you ask for something. There is this one guy at night that seems to have no concept of personal boundaries. He talks incessantly and makes a running commentary on your food. I even got told once that he thought something I bought looked gross and how he'd never eat it. And I've even seen them refuse to help a lady who was clearly in her late 80s to her car because none of the on duty employees were "rated" to do so. I ended up helping her. I know others love this store, and I've seen people get service, but if you are not someone who looks like a mother or a college student, you seem to get ignored. Oh well. read more

You know, this grocery may not have the largest selection of every product, but some travel companions and I recently hit up the QFC to stock our rental house for the weekend and we found everything we needed. This review is for the floral shop in QFC - I pre-ordered several flower arrangements from here and while most of the arrangements turned out correct, I was disappointed that they mistakenly put in pink roses instead of purple as accent colors as I had asked. Good thing I like pink but still, if I ask for purple and pay for purple, give me purple! The rest of the arrangements were nice and pretty competitively priced but would probably stick with a traditional flower shop in the future. read more

The prices are a bit steep but that's if you purchase items that are not on sale. Make sure to get a membership card to get the discounted prices. Friendly staff. Can't say I shop at this QFC very often. But, if I happen to be at U-Village and happen to be in need of groceries, I sometimes do. And, am always glad for having done so. They have a good selection of good quality and (mostly) reasonably priced food. Staff are super friendly. Oh, and I can swipe my Fred Meyer's card there to get the "loyalty" prices. Since I shop at Freddy's a lot more than I shop at QFC, I like that the $$$ I spend at the latter go towards the "rewards" I get at the former. Will certainly be stopping in again... read more

I this is one of the better grocery stores in the Seattle area. It isn't dark and dreary like Safeway, it's nicely lit and cheerful. This store usually has everything I need. There are some things it doesn't carry but those are few and far between. They have an excellent produce department and haven't got any bad produce from here. The checkout is nice as well, they recognize when more cashiers are needed and I have never had to wait in line that long. Plus it's nice they have more than 5 checkouts (cough cough Safeway). I haven't ever bought anything from the floral department it always looks nice. It is also nice that the parking ramp is open. I had stopped going here for awhile because the parking was terrible but now that the ramp is open I am back to this being my main grocery store. I have never had a mean or rude interaction with any of the employees. read more
