This is a very nice store! The parking sucks, with it being in the back of the University shopping area, but that's ok, eventually parking spaces appear. Maybe it was because we came around dinnertime, but the bakery and bread section was picked over, and some of the loaves were rock hard. Otherwise we found everything we needed, including bulk cranberries and nuts, which I wasn't expecting. I hate buying those expensive little packaged bags of fruits and nuts when bulk is cheaper and I can get exactly how much I need. Good beer and wine were on sale. The produce was fresh. I just can't get over how expensive food is. It cost 100 bucks for a spaghetti with salad dinner for 7. Well, 25% of that was booze. But still, food is expensive, and QFC seems to be moderately priced. We went here over Whole Foods (Whole Paycheck), and I think we saved some money. We don't have a QFC card and the checkout lady was helpful and gave us the application and card so we could get our discounts. It's worth fighting through the parking to come here for good stuff that is priced well. read more

As always, I only believe markets in this tier (QFC, Safeway, Alberton's, etc) are worth coming to when they're having great sales, due to everything being overpriced normally. Like other Yelpers have said though, this particular QFC is amazing. Even after reading the reviews, I wasn't quite prepared for what I saw. Upon first entering from the side entrance, I was greeted by a multitude of stands with enticing baked goods. Behind them were two or three full aisles worth of cheese varieties, with an extensive wine section hiding away in the back of the store. It's location in U Village is convenient (I didn't realize how many stores were in that plaza), along with the fact that it's open 24 hours. Like similar markets, I'm wary of their seafood section, just from the smell alone, but they have a pretty impressive selection of meats just down the aisle. Produce is pretty fresh, and at $1/lb for red grapes and $1/mango the week I went, they were definitely a steal. Now that I know about this particular branch, I'll probably never go to any of the others. read more

The customer service is pretty bad almost every time I visit this location. I was in the self check out line and the staff was rude and unhelpful. When a product couldn't be processed, the staff member basically ripped the product out of my hand and walked away. It was obvious that they didn't want to help me and it made me feel as if I was a burden. Though the store has a lot of food options, it doesn't outweigh the countless bad experiences I've had with the staff here. I normally take my business to Trader Joe's at this point because they're always kind and helpful. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. I spent so much money at QFC literally every single location. I buy cat food every few weeks but it's wild how the workers act all the time. I don't care how much you're trying to trim off the budget you've got to teach these people how to how to treat guests because it's not fair especially if it's a return or usual customer. Especially as someone who has 15 years of service industry experience and still to this day gets in my trouble if I'm not to the T perfect. So yeah today at 8:30 PM. Owen was super disrespectful and I really think he should be reprimanded. He didn't mind this whole group of little kids basically assaulting me and instead decided to get onto me for trying to use my shopping cart to strategically block them from walking up to me because they were trying to swing on me. It was a group of about 7 to 8 high school boys, tall high school boys who are all taller than me. I'm a grown woman and there's no reason for little kids to be swinging on me. So I snapped on Mr. Owen, because he yanked my cart out of my hand just because I was trying to use the shopping carts to keep them away from me while I was calling my Lyft driver. I'm going to do my best to never go to this location again I don't care what's going on or what me or my cat needs if I have to go to Mud Bay then I will. read more

This review is for the floral department. We got our wedding flowers here. We worked with Rose, and she was just fabulous. I live out of state and she was gracious enough to meet with us on a whim. She was professional, took notes on our vision, made suggestions, and promptly gave us a quote. We corresponded through email to finalize our floral needs. She delivered and set up the look at our venue day of. Everything looked perfect! Also, I only ordered rose petals for the aisle, but she gave us a whole garbage sized bag of petals! We were pleasantly surprised and used them all around the outdoor cocktail hour space. It looked SO good!! The guests loved it, and we ended up taking a bunch of throwing petals in the air pictures! :) Overall, great experience with Rose. The price is average, but everything was so easy, it was all worth it. read more

Unconscionable lack of customer service at QFC University Village. We have been customers for decades. And yet... I had spinal fusion surgery 3+ wks ago and rely on a cold therapy machine to help to control pain. My husband "feeds" the machine blocks of ice 24hrs a day to keep it going. He has been doing this now for three wks. buying ice from QFC 4-6 times a week. -On Wed. he bought all of the blocks available at the store and was told another shipment would arrive today. -We phoned this morning and was told it was not yet in. Fine. -He waited and trusted. Then he phoned this afternoon, told someone what he needed and why, told the whole story, and asked the person to actually go and look. The person returned to say they had blocks of ice. -They didn't. Eventually, some sort of store manager apologized and my husband is now searching the north end of Seattle for blocks of ice, having waited for the QFC we have patronized for decades to be true to their word. **I am just so disappointed in QFC! It seems as though, since they began to be absorbed into the enormous Kroeger company, they have become more concerned about sales and pushing their Kroeger products, and less and less concerned about honestly servicing their customers read more

The clerk PAUL who works at self checkout area was really rude and crazy. There was a coupon failed to load onto my membercard, so I asked for help. He obviously thought we bothered him by making him to work, and he said "F*CK" when he came to my front. Yes RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME SAYING "F*CK"! I couldn't believe QFC would hire such one to help customers?! Really?? I complained right after that and I do wish Paul get fired as that's what he wants to. read more

This is my favorite grocery store in Seattle for several reasons. 1. Reasonable prices. Not as cheap as Safeway. But not as expensive as Metropolitan Market. 2. Meat counter staff is fantastic! They have always been happy and helpful with all of my needs, be it picking out just the right ribeye cut, or giving me pointers on baking the jalapeno poppers. The product stocked has always been of high quality. 3. Quality produce. Not trying to knock on the Safeway next door, but you can really notice the difference in their veggie department. 4. Solid self-checkout setup, staffed with people who know how to make it run smoothly. My introverted tendencies make self-check out my preference, and this place does it right. 5. Einstein Bagels and Starbucks are attached to the building so if you need a cup of coffee or a bagel then you can just snag one on the way in. So that's my two cents on why this QFC is my go-to spot for pretty much all of my grocery shopping! Cheers. read more

This review is for the pharmacy. This pharmacy is terrible. They literally never have my medication in stock even though i fill my prescription there every single month. Even after repeated conversations with the pharmacists and staff asking them to please keep my meds in stock, they still fail to do so. It is dangerous to skip my daily meds and they put my health at risk every single month due to their incompetence. Time to bring my business to a different pharmacy. Good luck trying to find parking at this qfc as well. Oh and I hope you love waiting in line for at least 20 minutes to just speak to someone at the pharmacy or to request your refills (just to find out your meds are not in stock per norm and it's going to take up to a week to get them in stock Because they're too incompetent to order them when they are all out per norm. This is not an exotic med, wtf is their problem.) Their online and phone systems don't work/are non existent so don't waste your time requesting refills that way. Side note: they have put up so many barriers and the staff speak so quietly in very rough English that even a younger person like myself can not hear or understand anyone there. The incompetence and the lack of ability to even hear or understand anything they are saying is incredibly infuriating and frustrating. I definitely don't suggest patronizing this pharmacy. Every pharmacist that I've ever seen working behind the counter is incredibly disgruntled before you even step up to the window, so it doesn't appear that the employees love it there either. read more

I wish all QFC stores were like this. I was totally overwhelmed. The list I had went out the door as soon as I arrived. I just wandered the huge store gawking at the extensive variety of foods and great space. Finding a decent baby isle in Seattle is a chore. Apparently no one cares if you need formula for a baby in Seattle. This store made me feel welcome. They had a great variety of baby food, diapers and even the nice baby bath products. I was so happy. I loved their beer and wine selection and their produce was lovely. I really had a blast meal planning here. The employees actually appeared happy and were really helpful. Minus one star for the terrible parking situation. Sharing with the harpies that infest U Village is just insane. I've actually just left a few times and shopped elsewhere because of this. Also, a lot of the shoppers here are idiots. You would think with big isles it would be easier to move about the store. What could be better than combining selfish college kids with selfish U Village yuppies? read more

QFC - Grocery Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I have visited a number of QFC's across the greater Seattle area now and this one is about average. My one complaint here is that they don't appear to carry the variety of some QFC's I've been to do. It may have been a restock day or maybe the inventory manager limits the choices, idk. The other comment I have refers to the bareness of their shelves, which is the other reason that led me to my above assumption. Their were a couple of items I was looking for that were apparently sold out, so I had to go with random brands or substitutes for a few recipes I was cooking. read more

This is for the Deli catering section only. We ordered several sandwich platters, wings, fruit platter, etc., for a large Christmas Eve party. Major fail. The Sandwiches were very dry and could not be improved with mayonnaise or other condiments. The bread was hard, dry and not as fresh as it should be. They forgot to make our order/party platter of wings and basically gave us a bag of frozen chicken. Party starts In 1/2 an hour. One person told us they forgot to make it, the other person said they don't offer it anymore, but it's still on their menu and employees don't know that. The fruit platter was slightly better bur remained untouched at the party. The strawberries were half white, unripe. Not good quality. read more

I have gone to this QFC for many years and I absolutely love this place! This is my favorite location ever!!!

The customer service is exceptional as well as the quality products that this qfc carries. Giri, the cheese monger, is like the coolest guy ever. Funny, knowledgable, generous with samples. I eat a lot of cheese and always look forward to bumping into Giri. Giri deserves a medal of honor. read more

Awesome Kosher selection! I don't even bother driving distances to get Halal meat anymore... I just go across the street and get fresh Kosher lamb, chicken and beef. It tastes way fresher than most of the Halal stores in Seattle that I know of. You can also get frozen Kosher duck, pheasent, quail and turkey. Also... they have an excellent cheese and bread selection. To top everything off... you can get non-alcoholic wines (which have the same amount of alcohol in them as a glass of orange juice) here. FYI: This is the only QFC that I know of that has a kosher deli and butcher read more

I'm normally not a huge fan of QFC, because I think it's overpriced, but this might be the nicest grocery store I've been to in Seattle. Yes, I said it. First of all, before you even walk in you start to smell the maple bars in the bakery. Then, when you finally do get through the doors, you'd think you were in Willy Wonka's factory because there are sugary confections all around you, and vaporized pastries in the air. Then you see the produce section, and it's all perfectly lined up and shiny like in a picture book. If you're like me, you get excited about stuff like that. Everything is always well-stocked, and they have obscure stuff you don't see in regular markets. I was especially impressed by the wild mushroom selection and the bulk food aisle (mmm, trail mix). The wine nook was quite a sight to behold as well. If you think about it, there's no better meal than some gourmet fungus, nuts and dried fruit, and wine. Just sayin'. If you have kids, they also have the Quality Fun Center, where it appears you can drop off the rugrats to make kitschy craft projects while you shop. Although I didn't see if there was an age limit, so maybe I'll have my birthday party there this year. Hmm... A word to the wise: you'll probably want to take the bag boy up on his offer to help you out to your car. Since this is smack-dab in the middle of the U-Village, you'll probably have to park about a year away. But it's so worth it. read more

This particular QFC is like a maze of endless goods. Yogurt? What kind would you like? There are 200 different brands, and then each brand has 10 flavors. That's like 3 million yogurt options. (Note: my math may be a little off.) Beer? Don't even get me started. I like beer a whole bunch and I've tried a lot of different kinds of beer and if I were to go to this QFC and buy one kind of beer that I've never had before every single day, I'd be trying a new beer every day for like six hundred years. Their produce is perfect and while the variety is everything my little broccoli loving heart could desire, I just can't justify spending THAT MUCH on things I could get for less at a million other places. read more

Hey, look! Another $#@?&*% grocery store! This one, however, is the bomb dot com. 1. It has food. FOOD!!! 2. It has the largest wine selection in the country (for QFC's). 3. The remodel makes it nicer to shop in. 4. They offer free samples of stuff I don't usually want. But still. 5. FLOWERS. I don't care about QFC--in fact, I hate the one by my house (the Roosevelt one), because everything feels old and generic and almost-moldy. Anytime I'm in a QFC, I feel oppressively yellow. I also hate when they remodel and make everything look like a Really Cheap Whole Foods. But I digress. I'm a flower girl--I love all flowers (I don't discriminate), I do wedding flowers for people, I am forever arranging them for others, I am a FLOWER. JUNKIE. Before the remodel, I would buy flowers there sometimes, usually favoring Whole Foods (or Whole Flowery Paycheck) over QFC; but after the remodel, the QFC floral section got interesting. There is such a wide selection of flowers--especially for a grocery store--even more than Whole Foods, although the selection might be different. Normally, grocery stores stock the most arbitrary, glittery, blue carnation-loving arrangements that have the weirdest accoutrements: flags, glitter, plastic animals, dried flowers mixed with fresh flowers (Dead and Alive aren't very good bedfellows), twisted glitter sticks, unnaturally-colored stalks of WHEAT (there's a good idea...). It's all so plastic. I love the floral section of this store--I know that other parts of it went under the knife, but this was the part that stood out to me. There were some really unusual flowers available that I don't even see in some specialty floral shops, and the arrangements are fairly nice (or someone can put an arrangement together for you). My main point being: if you want to buy/give flowers, and you want something affordable, this place is great. And your girlfriend/mom won't even know they came from QFC. Check it out the next time you're in U-Village. read more

QFC - Kosher Sushi. - Grocery Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Swung through to grab a few things at the U Village QFC, which I've generally found to be better than most QFCs, perhaps because they have a couple of very different demographics to serve: the affluent young families that just seem to spring from the ground in U Village, complete with strollers packed with cute, crying babies; and the vast student population from up the hill at UW. First place I went was the greeting cards, to find a get well card for my dear brother. Bleeaurgh. Their card selection is awful, bottom-of-the-barrel Hallmark crap with syrupy affirmations or cartoon animals spewing bad jokes or lame puns. Second place I went was the wine section, which I must say **blows away** most other grocery stores. They have the $8 to $10 stuff for the low-budget drinker, but I was ready to splurge. The fancy little cellar room, where the highest end stuff lives, was locked and there wasn't an employee to be found despite a few pages on the PA, so I stuck to the gen-pop wines and picked up a $38 bottle of Chateau de St.-Cosme that was ammmaaaaaaaazzzzzzzing. Next was a visit to the seafood dept. for some smoked salmon...somehow, they didn't have any under the case so I had to go to the packaged stuff. On the other hand, they had Atlantic salmon in the case. PACIFIC NW GROCERY STORES SHOULD NOT SELL ATLANTIC SALMON. It is horrid and it's ecologically awful and it's terrible for the NW seafood industry. Come on, QFC...you've got some good stuff, especially in this particular store...dump the farm reared Atlantic salmon, for flub's sake. After browsing their super-humongous and impressive cheese section, I headed to the floral section to get some daisies for someone special who'd had a crappy day. Decent selection of garishly colored daisies in good shape, and a very helpful person at the counter to get them all wrapped up. Finally was the checkout line, which was... ...s... ...l... ...o... ...w. read more

This store has high prices and lousy customer service. I want there last Friday at 9am and they did not have a single register open. The guy running the self check complained to me I was making his job harder because I was bagging in the cart not in the tiny area they give you to bag in. Excuse me you are selling tomatoes for $4.99 a pound and you have no registers open and a lazy staff and you expect me to shop here? read more

I have been a customer at QFC University Village (2746 NE 45th St) for a long time and always get treated fairly, but today I was very disappointed. The cashier Ana was unfriendly, unhelpful, and did not represent QFC well. She needs to get re-trained about better customer service! I myself am a cashier at a very busy retail store too. Here's why: We got into her check stand when I saw she had her light on and was standing free. I asked if she was opened and she kind of nodded. We entered the check stand, she did not greet us at all because she was busy talking to her co-workers at that moment. She was holding my food, not even scanned, still talking and kind of ignoring us standing in front of her staring at her. And after she scanned my bread, she threw it on the belt. After we paid, she handed the receipt to my husband (who's generally a nice guy and still said 'thank you' to her) without looking and there was not a THANK YOU in return and GOOD BYE! What kind of attitude was that? This was her 2nd incident. The 1st time was a few weeks ago. She also had a rude attitude but I thought maybe she just had a long/bad day, and shouldn't make a big deal out of it. This time, I only recognized her after getting into the check stand and saw her name tag. The cashier is a very important role to the grocery/retail store. They will be the last employee of the store to make a good impression to customers and make them want to come back. If she doesn't like her job, she can quit, but if she wants to do this job, do it properly! Or else stay in the back, and don't cashier. (Again, I'm a cashier at a busy retail store too). Really hope her manager can read these comments. If not then too bad. You hired a wrong one! read more

My God, QFC, you have to be so convenient, don't you? You're everywhere, and you're on my way home from the bus stop. You just HAVE to have clean glass cases filled with cigarettes. Oh, and I suppose you MUST offer those terrific hours just right for an odd gal like me. Of course, QFC, you just INSIST on maintaining a ridiculously helpful staff that goes and gets me a pack of Camel Lights, even though I'm terribly allergic and don't need them! Well, here's to your damned super convenience and your excellent, silly staff who asks me if I need help out with those cigarettes! Bah! Pah! Phooey! I'll see you later... read more

My roommate and I sometimes refer to this as the "Jewish QFC", as they have about ten times as much kosher stuff as the average Seattle grocery store. Apparently they sell kosher-for-Passover Coke for a few weeks out of the year as well [Edit: possibly no longer true]. As I'm not Jewish, I mostly just shop at the U Village QFC because it's big, fancy, and open 24 hours. They have all the usual stuff that makes QFC QFC plus the aforementioned kosher selections and (this is the most important part) a really big selection of beer and wine. I've never used the Jewish line on my mother, who always refers to this QFC as "the one with the really good wine selection". Even if you're neither Jewish nor a wino, it's still much better than the lousy Safeway next door due to the larger-than-average deli, produce, and butcher sections. They don't have the variety of Whole Foods or the whimsy of Trader Joe's, but it's certainly one of the better (and bigger) grocery stores in NE Seattle. Do be warned that UW is only a mile away, so the store is surprisingly busy on a Friday or Saturday night. Having previously lived by the 70s-retro (in a bad way) dive QFC near 65th and Roosevelt, being within walking distance of the U Village QFC is a good trade-up. Heck, it's a pretty much a trade-up from any other QFC to shop here. (Oh, and watch out: they share a parking lot with U Village, so it can get crowded on a busy weekend) read more

The remodel is great. They have kosher sushi now- i didn't even know such a thing existed! The regular sushi is some of the best grocery store sushi i've ever had!! The meat dept is top notch. *Movie Announcer Voice* In a world where Grocery Stores compete for your dollar, one store stands tall... *cue cheesy music and echo effects* Q... F... C...! Now, I've seen a lot of grocery stores in my life... From places like Piggly Wiggly and Hornbachers to Albertsons, QFC and Safeway. That said, I have to admit that QFC definitely takes the cake in terms of selection, cleanliness and variety. The prices, while slightly higher, aren't so horribly high that shopping there is one of those "once in a blue moon" occasions. But let's talk about the U Village QFC, shall we? 1) Parking - The parking lot actually looks like someone put some thought into it before slapping down those white lines. The only annoyance is the weird, alternate parking spot deal. You know what I mean... How you can't access BOTH sides of any particular lane of parking, without having to do a 3 point turn, cross your fingers, pray to god and hope you don't hit the rear bumper of the car next to the open spot? Past that, it's great. TONS of parking. 2) Deli - Awesome, awesome and, because it needs to be said, awesome selection in the deli. I'm not talking about the pre-packaged crap, although it looks like they've got a pretty good selection of as well. I'm talking about the meat and cheese assortment that you can get sliced to order. Awesome! 3) Produce - Other than the fact that they seriously carry "Emeril's" brand of tomatoes (gag me), the selection of produce has always been great. I just wish that if they were going to have such tasties as heirloom tomatoes, they wouldn't have Emeril's brand. Bastard. But, they do have an awesome salad bar and for $6.99/pound, you can end up walking away with a pretty damned respectable salad - just stay away from the cubed ham. More often than not, I find that the chunks of ham that are out there are all gristly. 4) Wine & Beer - Oh... my... mother... of... all... that's... alcoholic... Now, I won't buy beer from here, simply because I prefer to buy beer from Bottleworks (better selection, more knowledgeable staff). But, when it comes to wine... Wow! Whites, reds, French, Italian, German, Australian, domestic and in a HUGE range of prices. Not to mention the fact that they have one wall devoted SOLELY to Port wine... I'm drooling a little right now. 5) Cleanliness - This is, by and far, THE premier, cleanest grocery store I have EVAR stepped into. I think that the wood floors might be a bit of overkill, but they definitely look better than the typical "off-white/faded into a scary shade of yellow" linoleum in most places. 6) Staff - I'm actually waiting for my first bad encounter with these guys. If and when I ever have some snotty grocery store cashier give me an attitude, I'll be looking around the store for the manager. Job sucks that bad, grocery-boy? Find a new one. Besides, you don't talk about previous customers in front of other customers - it makes you look like a tool and reflects badly upon the management who felt the need to give your punk ass a job. :D All in all, definitely my favorite grocery store. read more

Awful customer service. I picked up some sushi and and olives for lunch, which turned out to be bad, the olives tasted fishy and the sushi rice was rock hard, too dense, and too sweet, even for supermarket sushi. Anyways, despite not having a receipt, after work I thought I'd try to return it. The first customer service rep was nice enough, but when she called for Tom the store manager he took one irritated look and puffed, "I can't return this without a receipt" which I totally understand and even expected, but a 'sorry your lunch was awful, but unfortunately we can't issue a refund without a receipt' would have gone a long way. Dreadful food, worse customer service. read more

I like this QFC, I do. It's not amazing, but it's not bad either. Can be pricey for what you're getting, but they do have some cool items I can't find anywhere else-like the little fridge that has dog treats. My dogs love those and I stock up when I'm here. They also have a great wine and beer selection. Some cool beers you'd expect to find at Whole Foods but not necessarily QFC. Lots of cheese too, and desserts. I don't do all my shopping here, but they're reliable for what you need. read more

Simply put, this QFC is AMAZING. Not only is it plenty large, with the biggest selection I've seen out of a Kroger-owned store, but I walk in here just because it makes my eyes happy. From the cleanliness, to the bright flowers and balloons you can walk through like a garden, to the fresh produce, astounding array of drinks, ready-made food and bakery, it all makes my eyes twinkle a little bit when I walk through. Their ability to dazzle me is probably good for their business and bad for my wallet, but that's okay. I can also appreciate a store with the largest kosher selection I've seen in Seattle. Even though I don't practice Judaism myself. And who doesn't love a store with a Noah's Bagels attached? Yay! read more

Can I say how much I miss quality grocery stores like the ones in Seattle? I give this QFC five stars because I came here in search for very specific items, and found them all. -Top Pot donuts at a QFC, awesome! They were fresh and delicious, with a wide variety. -Organic Local Apples: I bought a few honeycrisp apples and they were absolutely the best apples I've had in my life. I wish I filled my suitcase with them. -Fair Scone mix, hooray! -Local coffee beans, alright. As I walked around I thought everything was very clean, stocked well and love that they offer a whole aisle of bulk food. The flower department is phenomenal, they offered over 50 pots of white orchids. How beautiful! The store was very well staffed but lines were a little longer than I was hoping, so I went to the self checkout area-they had so many and I didn't have to wait at all. Convenient! I wish grocery stores in my area held high standards like this QFC. read more

A larger grocery in Seattle which makes for one stop shopping most of the time. It can be pricey, but they also carry some good quality items. I wanted to post how impressed I was by a cashier I had months back named Cheryl. I was so impressed by how professional and polite she was. She ensured I was aware of several sales to maximize my savings as well. This interaction really struck me and honestly made me consider shopping there more which says a lot coming off 6 years of almost exclusively grocery delivery. Thanks Cheryl for the outstanding customer service! read more

This is a nice store. It is kind of like a whole foods meets safeway, some good quality finds, but also some deals as well. I believe it is 24 hour which is a huge bonus. This is a great place for picking up some late night items like beer and munchies. Speaking of beer they have a slightly better than average selection. Some good abbeys in 22oz bottles and a bit more than you find at some places in 6 packs, however, not a specialty beer slice of heaven by any means. For me, I visit qfc later at night or just to pick up a basketfull of groceries or less. read more

I love grocery stores. It's a little sad. Anyway, holy QFC (which I keep referring to as QVC. Like the home shopping channel). Open 24 hours and full of food. Wicked cute coffeeshop area. Prices could be better but it's cleaner and lacking the sketch factor of the U-District Safeway. Sadly, there are no amazing cookie cakes a la Shaws in Allston, MA. read more

This is probably the nicest freekin QFC I've ever been to. If they had QFCs this nice in south Seattle, I might give up my lifelong devotion to Safeway. It seems like only yesterday it was over on the other end of UVill, right where Blue C Sushi now resides. read more

This review is based on three things alone: Kosher Wine Produce 1: Kosher food section: At this QFC, it is not just a little blip in the "international" aisle. I can get just about any kosher thing my little kosher heart desires. Whole chickens, Quartered Chickens, Brisket mmmm... Kosher meats and whatnots are never cheap, but they are not outrageous here. 2: Wine: KOSHER WINE! I went to Israel two years ago and was lucky enough to tour the Golan Mountain Winery and taste almost all their wines. I bought so many bottles, that it cost me an extra Benjamin to fly them home. I finally polished off my last souvenir bottle and was SO pleased to find that they carry a smattering of the Golan Heights wines. They're a bit more expensive than they were in Israel, but the trip would inevitably fetch a good chunk of my wine budget. They've got a TON of other amazing wines here, and the folks in charge of my favorite fermented grape drink have never steered me wrong. 3: Produce: I grew up in the county. By real-live farms and stuff! This is better than that! I don't have to schlep FURTHER from civilization for fresh produce. It's all right here. The organic section is amazing. OH! AND THE CHEESE. There is a lot of it. I love this QFC. OH! AND THERE'S A KOSHER BAGEL SHOP IN THE FRONT! YES! read more

The best thing about this QFC is that it's Incredibly convenient-great location and open 24 hours a day. I mostly go there when they have good sales on stock items like soup or snacks. Some of the produce and "natural food items" are located upstairs. However, it's not always obvious what they qualify as "natural". That has gotten me on a couple of locations. What's especially annoying is that some of their sale items are only found upstairs while more expensive doppelgangers are found at the front of the store. It may be just me, but I find the layout of the store more confusing than normal. For example there is no aisle for chips, just assorted bunches at the end of aisles. The QFC and Safeway at University Village are better in quality, but this QFC is great if you live in Wallingford and way better than the "UnSafeway" on 45th. read more

What is it with grocery stores here? I feel like a lot of them have really narrow aisles and they feel really cramped and kind of old. This is the reason I shop at this QFC, even though I live about three minutes from the Wallingford one. It's huge, has a wide selection of pretty much everything (have you SEEN their kosher section?), and more than one cart can fit in the aisle at one time. Plus, they carry these frozen burritos that I pretty much live on these days--in bulk! Unfortunately, the only time I ever remember that I need groceries is right after work on a weekday, or in the middle of the day on the weekend, so when I go, the parking is usually horrendous. I would imagine that it's better during other times. read more

So there's a saying that says, "You don't know what you've got til it's gone." I've recently moved away from the U-District and this could not be more true. This location has it all! A pharmacy (did you know some QFCs don't have pharmacies...what??!!), an Ellenos yogurt bar, an extensive liquor selection (so many different things to explore! Craft beers, random stuff from Japan and Korea, etc.), a vast array of frozen desserts (muahaha), consistently good looking produce, free samples in the deli, Indomie Mi Goreng, a florist, a Starbucks, and an Einstein Bros. Maybe I'm #basic, maybe I've just been spoiled by this location for far too long. I couldn't ask for more from my neighborhood QFC. Whole Foods doesn't compare haha! I'll miss you forever, U-Village QFC :'( read more

Why I shop at QFC: * Their rotisserie chicken is by far the best roasted chicken I've ever had. The whole chicken (even the breast meat) is tender, flavorful, not rubbery or watery, and tastes like chicken should taste. I usually eat the dark meat part as it comes and then use the rest for stir-fry. And you get the whole bird for less than $7. * Their seafood selection is good, especially the shrimp and the salmon. * Steaks are good and often offered with a huge discount. * Good beer and wine selection. Not so good: * Avoid any pre-prepared items other than the rotisserie chicken. That means any of the deli meals. Would you eat food that's cooked 5 hours ago and left on a display tray all day? * It's hard to find anyone to help you. * Parking is a mess during the day. I really just love their chicken. read more
