Writing this as I recover from some kind of food-borne illness. We did a little carry out last night. I stood at the counter looking at the dirty line area and into the obviously unhappy eyes of the employees as we ordered. It was an uncomfortable ordering experience for my partner and I - so much so that we almost left, and we should have. No one wanted to be there, they were unfriendly and couldn't hear anything we were saying over the counter. That little voice that says "never mind, go on home and make a sandwich" was pushed away and here we are on a Saturday morning after a full night of sick stomach. Could not tear through the "steak" cubes, the soft taco was stale, everything tasted like the despair in the crew's eyes. And I am tied to the bathroom for the day. Chili lime shrimp bowl. Sound good? Yeah, I thought so too. Tried it. There was nothing chili lime about this shrimp. If you cook shrimp you know that overcooking shrimp is a cardinal sin. You end up with chewy round rubber bands. Having to wait for my shrimp bowl I watched the guy cooking more shrimp. I called him guy because he was neither a chef or cook but looked like somebody off the street that they handed a fry pan and said, go cook some shrimp. So after overcooking the little rascals they dump them in a stainless steam table warming container to further the journey to rubberdom. When the 12 year old who was making my bowl asked his trainer that since they ran out of shrimp and I got 7, yes they count them, was that ok. Luckily she said no, it has to be 10. Their conversation took place right in front of me! I looked and him and, don't chest me on the shrimp. Sheeesh. The rest of the bowl was just ok. My daughter and granddaughter and my gf stopped there on Thursday night . They were the only place opened after the hurricane, we just drove back from out of state obviously no power in either of our homes. My 2 year old granddaughter was crying to eat, she didn't want snacks she wanted food. Well my daughter went into the restaurant that had people in it and they were still serving, asked to buy rice and chicken ( my granddaughters favorite) they refused to sell her food. Why? After being completely bored with all other food options in the area, I decided to check out QDOBA. Admittedly, I've never really been a fan of their food but decided to see if things have improved through the years. I'm legit impressed and completely surprised how good my bowl was today. One great thing they have going for them is the new cauliflower bowl. I was a little concerned the cauliflower would be mushy but much to my surprised the bowl had full florets that were perfected roasted. They weren't mushy, nor too firm, it had just the right amount of "bite" to it. I opted to make my own bowl, choosing a sweet and spicy style chicken, beans, roasted peppers along with sour cream, cilantro, corn and tortilla strips. There is no upcharge for the tortilla strips which is nice and it gave the bowl nice texture. There is definitely enough food for leftovers, unless you have a big appetite like my hubby lol. It's nice to have a low carb option in the area and I would absolutely return to have this bowl again. read more

I'm so sad! Been watching the ads for the Citrus Lime Shrimp bowl and couldn't wait to give it a try. I know shrimp is easy to mess up so I was hesitant. I should have gone with my gut feeling. The shrimp was so overcooked, tough and chewy, i couldn't eat it. Out of my bowl it went. I don't know where the refreshing chili lime flavor was, but it wasn't in my bowl. so I ended up with a bowl of white rice with a few veggies and beans. Definitely won't order this again. First off, shrimp should be cooked made to order, not pre cooked by someone that doesn't know how to cook them. Then to make matters worse, they put the cooked shrimp in a container of warm/hot water to keep them warm. Issue.. the water keeps them cooking and washes off any flavor that the shrimp might have on it. Looks like cooking lessons are needed for the staff! Definitely not worth $13! I've ordered from them on doordash twice and paid for extra protein and did not get extra, i guess i have to go inside and watch them make my bowel so i can get exactly what i pay for. I'm a big fan of Qdoba but the service at this restaurant today was horrible!! I walked up to the counter to order my meal and the server asked how can I help you? As I'm giving my order she starts sorting out receipts. There was no eye contact or sense of urgency. I'm not a complainer. I thought it was necessary to write this review. I've never been treated like this from a server in the Tampa Bay Area. It's Christmas season ...be nice! I've been to other fast food restaurants and treated with some respect. I have a heart for servers. I'm not expecting 5 star service from a fast food restaurant but please show me respect. She lost a $5 tip due to bad service!! Management cared about the customer experience and sent me 2 gift certificates. So we decided to give it one more try. This time, we got food for the entire family, 3 burritos, 2 chicken bowls, 1 tortilla soup, and 1 chips and qeuso. Everything was good except the tortilla soup. Went here for dinner last night, and I'm shocked at how much this location has turned from awesome to horrible! Only 4 employees working last night, not communicating with each other, no sense of urgency and also ignoring customers IN FRONT OF THEM to catch up on what looked like overwhelming online orders. The cook was complaining that the servers were using all the food. "I just made chicken an hour ago" was said in front of me, as if people weren't allowed to add meat to their foods? Everyone was moving at a turtles pace, delivery drivers having to wait for their orders as well because they can keep up with the order volume. Maybe if everyone worked as a team and not as an annoyed crew member, maybe things would have moved fast? This use to be one of my favorite spots to go to before the remodel, but now it seems like it's a whole nee turn around. Always a good place for a burrito. It's similar to the other mid-range burrito places (Chipotle, Moe's, etc). The people are friendly and accommodating here, and the food is just fine. They also have a good amount of discounts throughout the year, and their points club will net you free food occasionally. Also they do yelp check-in discounts! read more

Like most other reviews: this place is very similar to Chipotle Grill. The sauces here are much much spicer than at Chipotle. So caution on that... Get it on the side just in case it's too spicy for you. I got the veggie burrito bowl with white rice, black beans, cheese, corn salsa, pico, lettuce, fajita peepers, the spicy cheese sauce..... It's so good! A lot of food! I am stuffed.... I can't move. Cost me $7.80. I believe it's about the same as chipotle...... The actual amount of food you get really depends on how generous the server is feeling... I'll be back! Ordered my food at 721pm today via their app. With COVID19 I didn't want to be in the restaurant any longer than I needed to. Plus add in Taco Tuesday and Cinco De Mayo in one and I figured they'd be slammed. Which they were. Anyway, ordered via app, simple enough. My husband went to pick up at 800pm even though app and email said ready at 752pm. So he tells me there's a bunch of people in the store, I call to see if they can bring the food out... well, the food hasn't even been started. They asked him to come inside and then they'll prepare it. My husband didn't feel comfortable doing that since there was no reason to go inside as we've already paid, it's curbside, and there's tons of people inside. So to make things easier, I tell him to come home and I'll pick up since I know the order in case they get anything wrong(it's super close to me so no biggie). I get there, I call, andddddd food hasn't been prepared because we needed to call when we get there for it to be prepared. I told her I had done that 30 min earlier. Well, it's 845pm and I'm still sitting here. There's no point in going elsewhere since I've already paid and invested so much time. Ugh. Note: I do see a ton of people inside. And some are about 6 ft apart but so many people have walked in and out, touching the door handle. No thanks. Also I've seen 1 person with a mask... Another note... they forgot the queso. Can't believe it took me a whole 10 years of living in Florida where I first discovered QDOBA to try it. It knocks chipotle out the park if you ask me. I had a burrito bowl and chips with guacamole. Everything was fresh and so much flavor. I feel they give you a little more for your money too! The guac was the best guac I've ever had from a fast food chain. They served it to me in a paper bowl which I guess was normal and the food actually tasted pretty good. later, I saw a another customer with a burrito bowl with the bowl actually made out of the edible actual shell. the manager on duty did not provide me with an adequate answer as to why I did not receive the actual edible bowl as opposed to the paper bowl. He also did not tell me why that option was not listed on their menu. he offered me no solution when I informed him that I was not satisfied with the service or his answer. read more

I am beyond impressed with this location. We have eaten at a few "fast casual" mexican restaurants in the area and have been treated poorly. (I'm looking at you Chipotle in Brandon!) At QDOBA the guy working, Joevon, was REALLY nice and accommodating to our requests. I had a couple of questions and requests and he did not make me feel like a pain. As a matter of fact I apologized for BEING a pain and he was kind enough to tell us that we weren't at all a bother. In a world where common courtesy is a dying art this experience at QDOBA was an absolute breath of fresh air. I was blown away by the great customer service and the meal was phenomenal. I got pulled pork nachos, my husband got a pulled pork bowl and my daughter had chips and queso. All of it was really amazing. I will be going out of my way to return to this location. read more

Let me start by saying I am a loyal Qdoba guest and rewards member. As someone who travels for work, I stop at Qdoba lots because it's quick, delicious, and healthy. I don't know why but I never have problems except when dining at my home store here in Riverview. Every time I use rewards I have to explain to them what to do, what I want to use, and it's always met with resistance. There always seems to be new faces at this one so maybe turnover has something to do with it. I really wish it would improve because it would be nice to enjoy Qdoba at home as much as I do on the road. read more
