We did proceed to order two margaritas and tableside guacamole and queso dip for appetizers then we split the chicken lunch fajitas. The tableside guacamole was excellent. The queso dip was definitely watery. The fajitas had very good portion, but definitely bland. The chicken was overdone and dry. My mom and I have this thing when we go to different Mexican restaurants we order fajitas and compare. This one was not up on the list. Need to do better. Not good. Absolutely no flavor. All in all the experience was okay.

There are a couple of notes on the front door--one mentions that some menu items have an upcharge and recommends asking your waiter for details, while another states that there's an additional charge for using a credit card due to processing fees. It's good to know these things in advance. I do wish the menu listed which items have an upcharge, but I assume the waiter would mention it when ordering. I ordered a "Create Your Own Combo" meal with one quesadilla and rice and beans since I wasn't too hungry (plus, I have a hard time resisting the free chips and salsa). The salsa is nothing special but does the job. We also ordered the Choridip, which was great with the chips and as a topping for our entrees. My husband got the steak fajitas. The food came out quickly and in generous portions, so we had leftovers to take home. Unfortunately, my chicken quesadilla was a bit disappointing--the meat was watery, which made the tortilla soggy. Overall, it's not a bad spot for the price, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

This was the new restaurant of the week and a bookmark that I checked off. The place is obviously a…read morerepurposed restaurant because it was two dining rooms with a bar and a fire place in the smaller dining room. The colors were tame and not all the bright colors like some Mexican restaurants. The tables and chairs were out of place because they had a country look to them. My server was super friendly and very nice for a very young woman. I was served chips and salsa while waiting for my strawberry margarita. The chips were warm and fresh but not seasoned. The salsa looked horrible because it was a purée but to my surprise it was the most flavorful part of my lunch with a nice garlic flavor. The strawberry margarita was above average because it had booze in it and a deep strawberry flavor that screamed strawberry, thank you. With only my order in the kitchen my food came very quick, the place was empty. I ordered the combination plate with a first for me, chicken in Mexican food for some reason. I had a ground beef taco, chicken enchilada and al pastor tostada with rice/beans. Although the food was good it was Americanized, bland and not seasoned. All the meats were moist I must say. I got the impression that they were cooking for the elderly population in Muskego. Overall if authentic Mexican food is not what your looking for and tame Americanized is your preference than this is the place for you.

The fresh salsa and warm chips are a great starter, but I also suggest the fresh guacamole! The interior has been freshened up a bit, and offers ample seating in two dining rooms. It was super loud as there was a fan blowing on the floor and they had the World Cup playing in the kitchen. We did not ask to move, however. The salsa and chips were good. That's always key to a restaurant. I ordered a raspberry blended margarita. It was very foamy and didn't taste 1 ounce of tequila in it. It tasted nonalcoholic. I did not like it. Having a good margaritas also is a main important thing at a Mexican restaurant. I ordered three à la carte tacos. The deep fried avocado, Al Pastor and steak. The avocado taco was strong in seasoning and actually tasted burnt. Couldn't eat it. As for the steak and Al pastor , those were very good. All in all, I don't think I'd be back because there's a lot of competition for Mexican restaurants. The place was pretty empty when we stopped in for dinner, but there were a lot of people picking up orders. I was starving and didn't want to wait another 40 minutes to eat so we dined in. Ordered ALL the things to replace those calories I worked so hard to burn at the gym. We got the carne asada fries to share, and then I had three steak street tacos and my husband ordered ... some pork tacos I believe. While we waited, we chatted with the staff and they were really nice. Learned a little about the place. We were given a little basket of chichirones while we waited. Then the fries came out. I think this is where we made our mistake! It was so much food. I thought it was going to be at least half the size. By the time our tacos came out I was almost full. We still finished all the food though because it was so delicious. Word to the wise, make sure those eyes aren't bigger than your stomach.

Service is friendly, and the establishment is what you want a good Mexican restaurant to look like. The TV playing '90s Mexican music videos was a nice bonus. Tortillas were crispy and fried to perfection. The consommé was delicious, had me drinking it straight out the cup and was well seasoned, hot, and was in its own something to right about. The red and green salsas were also good. Red having a bit of kick, green was flavorful. I will say that I wish one of them had more heat to it but the acidity and flavors were great. The beef itself was so flavorful and tender, well seasoned, not to mention had the perfect amount in each item. Also, Onions and peppers on the side were cooked great and had me going back for more each time. Also, get the horchata, it was spectacular. This place is small but decorated to really feel like the owners, workers, really care and take pride in the establishment. It had a great ambiance that was full of people on a rainy lunch hour, and I can see why. As a person who works in the industry as a cook, the kitchen, which you can see when you order is neat, clean, and truly has the right feel of 'they know what they're doing and they're doing it well'. 5 stars, will be talking about this meal for a long time and spreading the recommendation to as many people as I can.

Jalisco has the BEST sides of rice and beans I've ever had in a Mexican establishment, great flavors and respect for the ingredients and cooking process so everything shines through. They have Elote too, not quite the traditional way but damn I can't stop eating it! I've tried almost the whole menu; the lomo en salsa de arbol, carne asada, chile rellenos, bistec à la mexicana, gorditas w/carnitas & chorizo. I could eat here everyday! It's a cute little place with great service. Recently I caught some World Cup action while we waited. Different beers and sodas (Modelo, Jarritos) are available, as well as fresh guacamole and pico de gallo. They make a spicy taco salsa that's the right amount of heat and flavor. The beans were soft, warm, and flavorful, with a subtle smoky, almost bacon-like flavor that gave them some extra depth without being overpowering. The rice had a good blend of seasoning and spices, and you could taste the flavor throughout. The only downside was that it was a little on the tougher side and could have been softer and more moist. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the vegetables tasted fresh. This was one of my favorite parts of the meal because everything came together nicely. The salsa was really good and wasn't overly spicy. It wasn't your typical tomato-heavy salsa either. It had a bolder roasted and smoky flavor with a little kick. It had enough spice to give it some character without being overwhelming. The tortillas were a good size and easy to eat. They had that authentic-style tortilla flavor I enjoy, although they were a little bland on their own and could have used a touch more seasoning. The chips were fresh, thin, and crispy, exactly how I like them. They had a great crunch and paired really well with the salsa. The El Jefe was definitely one of the more fun drinks. It comes with Exotico Reposado, Ancho Reyes, and their agave house sour, with a salt and pepper rim. The tequila is served separately, so you get to shake and pour it yourself at the table. I liked that little interactive touch, and the drink had a nice balance of sweet, citrusy, and a little smoky heat from the Ancho Reyes. I also tried their espresso martini. Perfect blend of tequila and coffee. Both drinks were flavorful and worth trying if you like cocktails with a little something extra. The service was okay overall. Our waiter did come by to take our drink and food orders and checked on us when needed, but he didn't seem quite as attentive as I would have liked. It seemed like he was also focused on getting some of his closing tasks done, so there wasn't much extra check-in throughout the meal when I wanted to order my second drink. That said, we still got everything we needed, so I'd describe the service as okay. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and drinks. A couple of things could have been a little better, but there were enough good flavors that I'd be open to coming back and trying more from the menu.
