    Margarita flight
    Maddy K.

Went for a bday dinner and loved the chocolate piñata dessert to share! I really like that they start you off with chips and salsa for the table. The margarita flight I tried was delicious but pretty strong. I really enjoyed the fish tacos, rice and bean plate as I thought it had a lot of good flavors. I added Coquita cheese on top which made it even better. The guacamole was also tasty and paired well with my meal. Overall would recommend trying out for a modern tex-mex menu.

We had a wonderful afternoon visit at Uncle Julio's. We arrived in time for the happy hour special -- only available at the bar -- and enjoyed margaritas. We then split the tortilla soup and chicken fajitas. The soup had a phenomenal flavor and was just the right amount of spicy. The fajitas are my go to at Mexican restaurants and the ones here do not disappoint. Well cooked and great taste!

We picked this place for cinco de mayo because you could make a reservation. The place was very busy when we got there. I ordered a regular margarita and my sister got a Paloma. The drinks took a while but you could see they were busy. We really liked the salsa that came with chips. I think it was a black bean salsa. My sister's steak quesadilla was delicious. I got their special that was a different take on chile rellenos, chile puebra. They were deep fried. They were decent but incredibly hot when first buying into it. I wouldn't make this my go to Mexican restaurant but if needing to accommodate a group of heading to a suburb, I'd go back.

The ambience of the restaurant was really nice on the outside as well as the inside. Our waitress was very friendly however we had to keep reminding her to bring certain items for example water and our rice/beans with the meal. When it comes to our meals, it was not all that great. The flavor was not there. The rice was hard and crunchy. The queso cheese was not good at all. Overall this is not a restaurant that I would visit again.

Stopped here on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch with my friends. Our waitress was lovely and provided great service! We ordered some non-alcoholic watermelon margaritas and they were delicious! The table-side guac was fresh and tasty but the chips were a bit too thin and kept breaking in the bowl. We ordered a variety of main dishes. I really liked my shrimp fajitas, but the rice and beans were only ok. Prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming.

I was visiting Milwaukee and I was looking forward tk some good food. I made the decision to go to this restaurant and boy was that the wrong decision. The service was ok, and the ambiance was too dark and a little weird. But speaking about the food it was a very bad experience. Starting with the salsa, there was not much flavor, I asked for something spicy and they brought the same salsa. I got the quesa birria, and my co worker got the barbacoa tacos. It was very disappointing that they both had the exact same meat when they were clearly different dishes. However the consome with my dish was so salty that it was inedible. I then took a bite of the quesadilla and it was also inedible. My co worker took a bite of her Taco was also stated that it was so salty it was inedible. By far the worst dish of food I have ever had at any restaurants in over 20 different states. I would not recommend this place at all. It is sad that the customer is the last taste taster, because I am sure that no one tried the console before I got to our table. Very disappointing

Tortillas were crispy and fried to perfection. The consommé was delicious, had me drinking it straight out the cup and was well seasoned, hot, and was in its own something to right about. The red and green salsas were also good. Red having a bit of kick, green was flavorful. I will say that I wish one of them had more heat to it but the acidity and flavors were great. The beef itself was so flavorful and tender, well seasoned, not to mention had the perfect amount in each item. Also, Onions and peppers on the side were cooked great and had me going back for more each time. Also, get the horchata, it was spectacular. This place is small but decorated to really feel like the owners, workers, really care and take pride in the establishment. It had a great ambiance that was full of people on a rainy lunch hour, and I can see why. As a person who works in the industry as a cook, the kitchen, which you can see when you order is neat, clean, and truly has the right feel of 'they know what they're doing and they're doing it well'. 5 stars, will be talking about this meal for a long time and spreading the recommendation to as many people as I can.

First, the salsa and chips were improved. The salsa, both mild and medium, had a very fresh taste to them. I was impressed by the chunky medium salsa the most. Secondly, their accompanying chips were darker and thicker. They also had a distinct roasted corn flavor which went well with the salsa. Neither the salsa or the chips were drowned out by the other. The thicker chip stood up to the rigorous dipping I gave each one. Third, the refried beans they served with my chimichanga dinner were above the average pale looking serving. They were darker and nicely seasoned. I'd go back again just for them. I wish they served a little dish with these beans along with the salsa and chips. Fourth, only a one star demerit for their saggy bottom bench seats in my booth. Fifth, thank you for having hot water in the very clean Men's room for washing my hands.

There was music playing but a soccer match playing in the bar was plenty loud in the dining room and drown out the background music. The small house margarita starts at $8.50 and we both got one to see how they were. The size was larger than I thought it'd be at least. We also got a small basket of chips and a small cup of salsa. Not great but we still ate them because we were starving. We ordered tacos and they came out within about 5 minutes. The plates were cold, as well as the rice, and the beans were lukewarm. The tacos were hot at least. The barbacoa tacos ($16.99) were dry and didn't come with lime wedges, extra salsa, nothing. They were so dry that the single corn tortillas split pretty quickly. The pastor tacos ($16.49) weren't bad but no pineapple to be seen. The portions were okay but the food was not worth the price we paid. The weirdest part was when we got our check. None of the prices matched the menu and they also charged more for using a card. Don't appreciate the inaccurate prices and didn't see anything on the menu about being charged differently than what was posted. Our server seemed nice but it wasn't enough to make up for the weird space, lukewarm food, and overall disappointing experience. Will not go back.
