We all had to wear out coats the whole time. We ordered 3 mix drinks and a beer(which was the wrong kind we ordered). We waited over 15 minutes for them to arrive. Once the waitress got back to us another 10 minutes later after delivering our drinks we ordered our food. 3 different types of Birria and an order of cheese and onion enchiladas. 30 minutes later our food comes out cold. The enchiladas were extremely cold. It felt almost as if it was string cheese with some onions added covered in Ragu. DISGUSTING!!. The Birria was edible but nothing special. I had this last night 12/13. It's 7:36am on 12/14 and I'm awake writing this because my stomach is in knots and I don't feel good. AVOID at all cost. Milwaukee is a city rich with authentic Mexican food. Try one of them please or even a Taco Bell or Taco John's is more edible. I don't like writing bad reviews but this was an overall really poor experience. Slow service, bad food, no heat in the restaurant. Stick with the Food truck you guys already had. I don't believe a stand alone restaurant suits you guys.

The place is fairly nice on the inside but nothing fancy with a bar, amusement/gambling machines, dining room and sun room in the front. The staff was very friendly and I had no service issues. They start you with chips and salsa which are warm and homemade with a nice crispy chew. The salsa was flavorful and good with the warm chips. The menu isn't typical Mexican huge and no combination plates but it has all the regulars. For some reason my favorite Al pastor was cheated on and I ordered the steak burrito dinner with beans and rice. I ordered a strawberry margarita to start and it looked amazing and blended perfectly smooth but not super strawberry tasting and average at best. My steak burrito dinner was looking good with a huge steak burrito as big as the plate. The steak burrito comes with steak, beans, rice, sour cream and I added cilantro and onions for that authentic taste. The rice was the typical boring Mexican. The beans were seasoned nice and flavorful I thought and I mixed it with my rice and add the salsa so now my rice is fantastic tasting. The first bite of the steak burrito was flavorful and seasoned nicely again I thought and my added cilantro and onion was putting it over the top in flavor land, just delicious. Overall I really enjoyed the burrito the burrito dinner because it was flavorful and not bland like some places and it's a big plate of food. I was pleasantly surprised at how a former Burger King now Mexican restaurant is serving a delicious burrito dinner.

My mom and I have this thing when we go to different Mexican restaurants we order fajitas and compare. This one was not up on the list. Need to do better. Not good. Absolutely no flavor. There are a couple of notes on the front door--one mentions that some menu items have an upcharge and recommends asking your waiter for details, while another states that there's an additional charge for using a credit card due to processing fees. It's good to know these things in advance. I do wish the menu listed which items have an upcharge, but I assume the waiter would mention it when ordering. I ordered a "Create Your Own Combo" meal with one quesadilla and rice and beans since I wasn't too hungry (plus, I have a hard time resisting the free chips and salsa). The salsa is nothing special but does the job. We also ordered the Choridip, which was great with the chips and as a topping for our entrees. My husband got the steak fajitas. The food came out quickly and in generous portions, so we had leftovers to take home. Unfortunately, my chicken quesadilla was a bit disappointing--the meat was watery, which made the tortilla soggy. Overall, it's not a bad spot for the price, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Honestly in the last 5 years this place has consistently been going downhill. They never have…read moreconsistent staff and I can see why everyone quits or gets replaced. Management here must be a joke. Tonight went with a party of 4. We were seated and told once the fryer was good to go we'd be given the complimentary chips. Our waitress was also the bartender, so I can understand she was busy before I continue with everything else. We waited for over 30 minutes and still had not gotten chips. All the tables around us had gotten chips. They also received refills of chips. I stopped the other waitress and asked if we would be able to get some chips soon. Our waitress had been bartending and hadn't been by us for a while yet suddenly at that moment she appeared behind me and let me know that they were extremely busy and she had a lot to do and that I needed to be more UNDERSTANDING and had an attitude as she said it. It wasn't said with politeness or with customer service in mind. I wasn't rude to the other waitress. I didn't allude to the fact that it was our waitress's fault or put blame on anyone. I simply asked for chips because we had noticed them coming as refills and we hadn't even gotten our first batch. Our waitress was literally shaking as if she was ready for a fight while she sat her rant at me. I told her the aforementioned and she responded by saying those were the other waitress's tables and not that waitress's problem. SHE was our waitress and SHE was busy. Well, honestly, that's precisely why I asked the other waitress because I doubt running a tray of chips out would have been that big of a hassle for her and if our waitress was so busy that she couldn't run out chips I don't see why she had the time to hop on over to scold me like a child. Pretty sure she could have grabbed the chips and ran them out instead with a simple "Sorry for the wait." But that's alright... Now on to the subject of understanding. What she didn't ask and failed to understand was that there were two diabetics at the table, both of whom take medications. We've been to this establishment multiple times and have ALWAYS had long wait times but, because the food is good, we usually don't mind. Tonight however we just needed some carbs at the table because my sugat was dropping. Shame she didn't bother to be UNDERSTANDING although she was so adamant I should be. Also unrelated to her rudeness but they're always out of everything. Horchata is almost always out. Stuffed Poblanos and Posole were out because they don't get made in the summer apparently. I didn't know and I ordered some tonight. She was snarky about that, too. If your establishment doesn't make it then why is it on the menu? It should at the very least say it's a seasonal item. Don't come at me with that attitude because your establishment lists things they don't make year round. I'm not psychic. Maybe try to be more UNDERSTANDING of that. In short, the place's customer service has been waning. They can barely handle half a house. Then on top of it the bitch was rude. The other waitress for the record ran out half our stuff when it was ready. We made it clear to her that she wasn't our waitress at least when I was scolded by the other one that's what we were told. So she couldn't run out some chips but she could run everything else? Once again, pointless to scold me when you literally had her doing all YOUR work. In the end I didn't even get her name because one of us paid the bill and forgot to grab the copy. Otherwise I would have named her here. But it shouldn't be hard to pinpoint who it was since there were only 2 on duty, and I reiterate, this one was the one bartending. Also she didn't even offer us the end of dinner apple pie shots that were brought to everyone else. She obviously can't stay objective and instead decided to be abrasive. Hopefully this business does the right thing and corrects or gets rid of her rude ass and she learns to be more UNDERSTANDING and gains some humility.

They only have a small laminated menu at the table for drinks and no prices anywhere. I tried asking the server if there was a happy hour and it sounded like that's not something offered here. When I asked about the margaritas, I was told they started at $11 and beers were about $6 for pints and about $8 for 22 oz, so I ordered a 22oz Dos Equis (came out to $8.50). Unfortunately, it tasted off like the tap line was dirty. Our server was nice and friendly though. He was great. The menu prices differed with what they had online by about $2-3 for most of the dishes. Not a fan when they can't keep menus up to date. I opted for the street tacos which came out to $18.50. The pastor tacos were good though there was an odd bite or two of very chewy or tough pieces of pork. The rice and beans were not worth the calories. The chips and salsa were good and a sizeable portion but not enough to make up for the prices with everything else. You also find out at the end that they charge extra for using a card. You can pay in cash to get the extra amount taken off. The space had an overly sweet air freshener smell, almost like they're trying to cover something else up. Similar to other reviews, this place is okay but it's not worth the price point in my opinion.
