They were simply great! Catered a birthday party for my nephew. It was so nice to be able to enjoy the party without all the fuss!

I got the tacos governador, they're shrimp tacos with grilled onions, bell peppers, and cheese. They were amazing. The shrimp was so fresh, plump, and perfectly grilled. The onions and peppers still had a little crunch to them, so all the textures worked beautifully together. I took my food to go and rated a 5/5, but I'm sure it would have been even better if I ate it immediately there if that's even possible. It also came with this special sauce, but it didn't really need it. They were amazing as is. I did like dipping my chips in the sauce. I also loved the chips and salsa. They're the thicker cut chips and can hold a lot. The salsa was fresh and no heat to it, but you could taste the peppers. The employees were very nice and helped me because I came in thinking I knew exactly what I wanted lol but completely forgot the name. It seems like a local restaurant because the employees were very friendly with all the customers there, and seemed like they knew everyone. If I have time before I leave, I'll definitely come back! Thank you for a great dinner and first proper meal in Virginia!

We came here two weekends ago actually as a Plan B because our first choice ran out of food items. Let's see if our Plan B worked out. Seating was available for the most part when we walked in. The owner greeted us and said welcome back. There were YouTube videos being played on TV screens around. 80s and 90s music...can't complain at all. After looking through the menu for a bit, I chose the buffalo chicken fries. It's actually an appetizer dish, but I actually got full before finishing. I took the leftovers home and finished that evening. Another great stop here for the both of us. What more can you ask for receiving great food with great care from the staff. You know we'll be back here :)

Long version: So I went to check out this Mexican spot in Hampton and it was pretty interesting. The little mall that this place is in looks run down and I was wondering if my car was going to get broken into while it was parked there. But once you get inside this place has some interesting vibes and tons of fun decorations. I got the California burrito with a Mexican Coke and highly recommend! It is a 14 inch burrito that you can hold in your hand with guac, shredded Monterey Jack, carne asada steak, crispy fries with cotija cheese. There was a big group of people (maybe 10-12) in there when we arrived that was eating up a lot of the attention of the one waiter. Also, we had a long wait for food because they actually ran out of steak that was prepped and so they had to prep more and grill it up for the burrito. My friend got the OG burrito which he thought was good, but was a little soggy from the juice from the chicken. Even with everything, I would still recommend this place, and their California burrito was amazing.

Everyone can be seated comfortably. It is very large and filled with illusions of Mayan Ruins and a mild rainforest vibe. In addition to the interior redesign the menu is completely redesigned. Gone is the stereotypical Speedy Gonzales lunch special. The extensive offerings are replaced with such interesting combinations as a steak, chicken and shrimp burrito, described by my friend as "Delicious," and spinach enchiladas. We were offered tea refills and one to go. I had the spinach enchiladas and was not happy. The cooked spinach inside was served unaccompanied. There was a nice sauce on top but I was glad I swapped the rice for refried beans so I could mix up the beans, which were a bit too wet for me, with the spinach. Will not choose that again. Prices are higher as well. My lunch special and tea was $15 plus tip. Service was attentive although some mistakes were made and corrected, probably due to a language barrier. The improvements to Plaza Azteca have brought a more contemporary vibe. Good Mexican food and overall good dining experience.

I was there between lunch and dinner so it was slow. Very bright inside with bright colors. 2 things I noticed.....when I sat they asked me if I wanted the white sauce with my chips and salsa. Absolutely not but I like that they asked. I know it benefits them too and less food waste but I definitely appreciated it. They also did NOT bring me a straw. Once again.....waste. I always bring my own straw so I am glad they asked if I wanted a straw. I was not nearly as hungry as I thought so I got a chicken burrito. It was good. The salsa was really good. So fresh and lots of flavor with lots of fresh cilantro and onion and tomato. It was really good. Don't wait when they bring you a check. You have to bring it up to the register on your way out. If I am ever back in Poquoson I would go back if I was craving mexican food.

They have always been great both staff and the food. The seating is great. Large decorative booths. The walls filled with photos of guests. The food has always been great. My go to is chicken fajitas. I know nothing spectacular but, it hits every-time for me. It must be that sizzling cast iron pan the comes out. It's like it's speaking to me. I've never heard any complaints about anyone else's food or their margaritas. I really appreciate the closeness of the family who runs El Rancho. They along with their staff work so hard.
