Never a good experience when service is so bad even a pickup order can't be done properly. Employee said my order was not ready when I arrived then picked up a package from a table 10 minutes later saying it was mine. When asked why he didn't say it was ready when I arrived he told me I should have checked the table. I really wanted to like this place since it's local to me but I was met with disappointed. It was a very hot day yesterday and I was looking forward to cooling off and dining in somewhere. As soon as I walked into this restaurant, I felt no reprieve from the outdoors. The ceiling fans were running on high mode but it was incredibly warm in the restaurant. As soon as I sat down with my family, I could feel the table was extremely sticky. So here I am, hot as mess with my forearms sticking to the table. Not a great first impression. As far as a the food goes, nothing too exciting. The chips were stale and over fried. Very hard to chew. This goes for the shell on my taco salad as well. There was very little ground meat but lots and lots of lettuce. I was quite surprised by the small portion size considering the meal was priced higher than at most Mexican restaurants I've dined at. The grilled chicken on my son's kids meal was flavorful, but disappointingly dry. Service was okay. The waitress checked on us once, but we had to ask for the refill on our water. I've eaten here several times and each time I regret it. The decode ours pretty typical for a Mexican restaurant. It is fine and everything is clean enough. The bathrooms are mediocre. The service is the same. It is decent enough but nothing that would make me recommend the place. Unfortunately the food is not good. Everything I've had was less than medicore. Nothing is seasoned and the salsa tastes like marinara with a tiny kick. It would be better paired with bread or mozzarella sticks. The chori pollo has very little chicken, but a pile of bland chorizo. I don't know how you make a bland dish that is covered is sausage and cheese. Definitely the worst I've been served. As much as I keep coming back here because it's local I wish I liked it more. When you walk in the register and hostess stand is RIGHT THERE.. as well as a bench and small diving wall. It is very cramped and it becomes uncomfortable when there are 2 or more guests trying to be seated or trying to pay for their meal. The restaurant itself is orange from the walls to the floor. There are jalapenos painted on the table and a few other wall paintings. I think the decorative atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. The chips and salsa is brought out pretty quickly by someone who is not your server... and they do not offer to refill the chips/dip like other restaurants in the area. Last night the service was really slow. I have been here a lot over the years (family's choice when meeting up) and the servers don't do a lot of checking up on you. We had a party of 3 and were only given 2 silverwares.. each with one napkin. There was a minor dip spill and we waited for a few minutes to see if anyone was coming by (to check drinks, clear the chips, etc) and I ended up having to walk to the host stand where all the servers were to ask for napkins and I received two. The food came out pretty quickly and honestly it is just meh. I do like the prices (5.50 kids meals, $13 steak chicken chorizo, $10 pick 4) but the food is underwhelming every time. The beans are just okay, a bit watery and the rice is dry. The chicken with nacho sauce is the best part of the 3 Amigos meal, their chori is not as juicy as I'd like. It is almost worth the money you pay for it but compared to other places this one is just 'meh'... average, nothing special and that makes me sad as it's the best Mexican place local to me in Isle of Wight. read more

The food is pretty good most times,but the staff that I have dealt with are always nice which goes a long way with me.

Service was terrible. Staff was friendly at the door, but our waiter seemed disgusted that we were there. A young lady made us great fresh guacamole. We were courteous and friendly to our waiter and were met with a sullen attitude and disdain. It seemed as though he was trying to ignore us. I can't rate the food we just wolfed it down and left. ruined our dinner experience. My wife says never again. I say that I'm not going to let one waiter influence me. The atmosphere is just ok. It could use a woman's touch. I absolutely love the white sauce that comes with the chips when you first sit down! I have ordered the fajitas for two and they were very good but subbed the beans on the side for extra rice but ended up with basically one portion of rice instead of two. I always take food home because their meals are more than I can eat while there. The staff are friendly but don't speak fluent English but my son speaks fairly fluent Spanish so it wasn't a problem. I don't understand why they don't make salsa from scratch as it is the first impression of the quality of food coming in a Mexican restaurant. If you have ever been to On The Boarder their chips and salsa is better. I had the chicken fajitas which were ok but had no real flavoring to them. My wife had the chimichanga which looked ok to me but had some kind of cheese sauce on them that she didn't like. The service was slightly above average and the cost of our dinner wasn't bad. There was a woman w caramel hair who got an attitude after my very lack server was nowhere to be found.
