If I was the doctor I would consider maybe getting somebody nicer other than that great doctor if you don't like your job or people get another job you're in the wrong profession.. would get five stars if it wasn't for the bad experiences coming in to the office

I find many (not all) of their doctors and therapists to be competent, but they appear to be pushed to see an over abundance of patients in an unreasonable amount of time. Further, when doctors are away, they do not have another doctor to cover for them, and hence, rely solely on PAs...who frequently cannot help. After a recent surgery, I experienced an issue that required being seen by the doc, but he was away for 3 weeks, and the PAs were not able to provide the necessary care. Hence, I was forced to wait out that time until the doctor returned. That is simply not good patient care! Other medical issues were exacerbated during that wait. Further, I had no guidance from the team as to whether I should or should not continue PT...which generated a risk of further injury. Shame on the administrators that do not make sure that proper care is in place, and you, as a practice, "do no harm." Believe me, this is just the tip of the iceberg with regards to what I've dealt with with Ortho RI.

I was given a prescription for pain and told to come back in 6 weeks. I was not given any information about what was happening to me, nor what to expect during the healing. I contrasted this with my husband's experience with Care NE Orthopedics and I can tell you I will never go back here. First, the patient portal is useless. I have tried twice to send messages and I get a 10 day old out of office messages from a PA I never heard of. I needed a refill on a prescription so I called and spoke to a member of my doctor 's staff who said she would sent the request to the doctor. it's been 3 days and no one has contacted me nor sent the prescription to the doctor. In contrast, Care NE has been super responsive and their portal is extremely easy to use. I would caution anyone to refuse a referral to this place and request a different referral.

My husband had 2 knee procedures performed by Dr. Moss in the outpatient surgical unit here…read more Dr.Moss was responsive, warm, informative, and quite reassuring through the whole diagnosis process. He helped my husband make treatment decisions and was thorough in explaining what to expect day of, and following up. In addition, all of the staff in the facility were prompt, professional, and caring. We were so pleased with the service he received, so when I developed an issue with my hands and my PCO suggested seeing an orthopedic specialist, I called this practice. They were able to access my x-rays directly from RIMI, which I appreciated (no one wants to have to repeat tests). I saw a Fellow, who came in first to examine my hands and diagnose the problem (trigger finger - in both hands - that was causing pain, swelling, and lack of movement). Dr. Gil came in, confirmed the diagnosis - and let me know the treatment (steroid shot), and next line treatment (minor surgical procedure) if the steroid didn't cure the problem. He administered the shots in the exam room that day, letting me know that it might take a few days for reaction to be fully noticeable. Throughout my treatment too, the staff were helpful and offered great service. The Kettle Point facility is brand new, very clean, and a welcoming place to receive service. I'm mystified by the low ratings from others!

**** Before going any further, I want to make it very known that my scoring is a medium combined…read moreaverage between both the surgeon (Dr. Hubbard), their physical therapy department and their billing department. If you're considering becoming one of his patients, there are numerous factors to consider as reviewing a specialist/surgeon isn't as easy or cookie-butter as reviewing a coffee shop. In May of 2014, after much searching for a good hand specialist, I stumbled upon RI Hand & Orthopaedic Center and read very positive things regarding Dr. Hubbard. I've suffered from terrible pain in both my hands, wrists and arms for many years and finally was ready to take care of things. I also had a ganglion cyst on my left wrist that appeared around 10 years ago but wasn't actually causing pain and discomfort until recently. The process of diagnosing my problems was fairly quick: the usual route of xrays, seeing a neurologist for a nerve conduction study & EMG, followed by short term physical therapy. Needless to say, physical therapy didn't work and I was off for surgery over at Blackstone Valley Surgicare (see other review for the facility). Dr. Hubbard did a great job in the OR and during the subsequent follow-ups for all three procedures. The receptionist staff as well as the original physical therapist I had seen prior to surgery were absolutely wonderful. Both carpal tunnel releases went extremely well and even at this point, the pain is all but gone. However the cyst removal didn't quite go as well. By December the cyst had grown back and causes excruciating pain. Here's where everything took a nose dive. After surgery I was scheduled for weekly physical therapy sessions. The original PT who had been taking care of me was always prompt, friendly and had me in and out without waiting. Shortly after she went on maternity leave and a new woman took over for a while. Unfortunately the wait time became excessive. Several times she left myself and several other patients in the waiting room for over an hour (even though the PT room is ample in space). On more than one occasion I actually had to leave before she could see me. Later in winter around Christmas, my husband was fired from his job and we temporarily lost insurance. Thankfully we were eligible for coverage through the state and I happily called in February to make a follow up regarding the new cyst and terrible pain. Which is where I had a very unfortunate encounter with the billing department. Unfortunately my prior insurance had left me with a bill around $500 which, back when we had income, was no sweat to pay. But at this point, we were completely broke. When I called to make an appointment the receptionist scheduled me in right away since the pain was intolerable. A few minutes later the billing department called to inform she had cancelled my appointment tentatively unless I paid the bill. I was more than happy to offer a payment plan of weekly payments but to my surprise, she refused me outright. Didn't make a single effort to assist me or work with what I had to offer. Rude, unfriendly and curt, she told me outright no appointments unless I paid in full. And that was that. To be quite honest, I was a little shocked. I've always kept a great record as a patient: paid my deductible and any subsequent bills, kept my appointments, was friendly with the staff and yet when it came to actually having an outstanding bill for the first time, I was immediately treated like the scum of the earth. Would I recommend Dr. Hubbard as a doctor and surgeon? Yes. However as a whole (including his affiliation with Blackstone Surgicare), especially when the billing department is involved, I would consider going elsewhere. Dr. Hubbard is a skilled, amicable surgeon as is his immediate staff. But the woman in billing seriously needs to learn how to treat patients.

I step into the office and I was immediately reminded of Walmart or "people of Walmart". The lady at the desk didn't speak English, the place was packed with people, there were kids climbing on furniture, it's just like Walmart lol. I had to wait an hour to be seen even though I had an appointment. When I finally do get seen, Doctor Hubbard seemed nice and professional. As he's looking my hands over we have small talk and my son comes up in conversation. That's when he tells me he beat his son every day to help him stay in line! I thought he was joking and just had a weird sense of humor but no he was serious and really beat his kid every day. Fuck doctor Hubbard. It's been about ten months since I've been there and I got a bill in the mail saying I owe $50 for X-rays and it's going to collections. This is the first time I've seen this bill.

This man has no bedside manner and seems to be more interested…read morein having patients make appointments at his own pt office than getting to the root of the problem. I was DX with a pinched nerve in the neck, and my symptoms did not coincide with a "muscle sprain". He literally spent no more than two minutes with me, did an X-ray (you cannot find nerve damage on an X-ray, you need an mri) , the pain I have travels along the nerve path from the back of my head, into mastoids, jaw, shoulder, and down my arm. That is not indicative of a "sprain", it is indicative of nerve damage. However, all he cares about was getting me into HIS physical therapy clinic. He did not listen or care about my concerns and definitely did not take any time to get to know me or how I was feeling. Made formal complaint with my insurance carrier. I was still required to pay a $30 copay. If you receive bad service in a retail store or restaurant, you're refunded. If it is a doctor, though, you're expected to pay even if you weren't satisfied with the service. Doctors should be held at the same standards as any other service industry. I recommend, if you're thinking about going here, find someone else first.

A nurse interviewed me and told me, "it won't be as long as it was in the waiting room." No it wasn't as long, it WAS LONGER!!!!! At 12:10, yes you read that right, he walked into the room and never introduced himself, apologized for his lateness, nor offer a hand to shake; announced and pointed "you need to be on that table, and remove your socks and shoes." I was beyond angry. I have never ever been treated so rudely by a physician in my life. He turned around, finished with another patient, and came back in at 12:20. He saw me for all of 5 minutes. Forgot that he asked me to remove my socks and shoes, until I reminded him of it, and then left. He is such an arrogant P&&k!!! Two and a half hour wait for 5 minutes. Uncalled for, unconscionable, ridiculous. They triple book appointments. And, the women behind the desk are used to this based on their reaction to my inquiries. I wouldn't go to him again, if my life depended on it.
