They were thorough and took x-rays ahead of time, clearly explained the images to us, and educated us about how his roots were not very long, but that if we waited, they could potentially grow longer, and the teeth would be harder to extract. On the day of the procedure, they gave my son anesthesia before numbing his gums with Novacaine which made the procedure nearly painless. They completed the procedure in about a half hour at the most. They kept my son sitting upright in a chair in the recovery room for another half hour before the anesthesia finally wore off and he was able to walk out of there. They made sure that they supplied us with gauze pads, a syringe, clear discharge instructions, etc. Pro tip: check your insurance plan to see how much you have left of your deductible before scheduling your appointment. My son had a few fillings earlier in the year which used up a good portion of his deductible. If you schedule your dental procedures in different calendar years, you will pay less.

Didn't seem too interested in my problem and was meh about doing a biopsy on a new lesion in my mouth. He spent more time making sure he had the right CPT codes than addressing my issue. My primary care physician was impressed with the testing that Dr. Petteruti performed and really impressed with the results. So much so that I only need to see her once a year. One issue I had that IM's testing showed was a high level of heavy metals. As my career was spent in manufacturing, that is not surprising. The chelation IV drips are addressing that issue. Again, my primary care doc is all on board with Dr. Petteruti's treatments. Big box medicine addresses symptoms in a wack -a- mole methodology. I was, surprisingly, able to afford way more grafts than anticipated. I had previously visited another known hair transplant surgeon and I found DiStefano to be more affordable, but exponentially more explanatory, friendlier, and very professional. I arrived for my procedure and Dr. Chris felt like I'd known him for years. He explained every step of the procedure, even while doing it. I don't consider myself to have an abnormal tolerance for pain, but, in case you're apprehensive, I really had ZERO pain. The first night, you sleep in a recliner, so I did take 1 pill for pain, really just to put me to sleep. I never took another one. My wife (ER nurse) removed my staples 2 weeks later, also pain free. The instructions and expectations given to me were perfectly accurate and are easy to understand and follow. Dr Chris called the next day to see how I felt, and I can say, 15 months later that my only regret was not doing it earlier. I realize that this is an unrealistically positive review, but it is totally honest. My before and after pictures are dramatic and nothing short of incredible work. If you have questions (no, I don't work there..lol) leave a note and I will give my honest opinion

And to my SURPRISE, new management expressed to me that they WILL NOT honor the promise of completing my surgery and requested me to pay additional funds. Anyone reading this should understand that this hair restoration group does not stand by their promises, and are not to be trusted cosmetically or professionally. I am a professional businessman who works hard for my money. I trusted this group. The consultant that I worked with initially is no longer employed there, although he has tried to help me with the situation. In hindsight, if I had known this was going to happen I would've never gone there and I will recommend to every other hair transplant patient to run the other way from DiStefano Hair Restoration and Dr. Heinis. I will not take this post down until I have my procedure done or receive a refund.

I find many (not all) of their doctors and therapists to be competent, but they appear to be pushed to see an over abundance of patients in an unreasonable amount of time. Further, when doctors are away, they do not have another doctor to cover for them, and hence, rely solely on PAs...who frequently cannot help. After a recent surgery, I experienced an issue that required being seen by the doc, but he was away for 3 weeks, and the PAs were not able to provide the necessary care. Hence, I was forced to wait out that time until the doctor returned. That is simply not good patient care! Other medical issues were exacerbated during that wait. Further, I had no guidance from the team as to whether I should or should not continue PT...which generated a risk of further injury. Shame on the administrators that do not make sure that proper care is in place, and you, as a practice, "do no harm." I have tried twice to send messages and I get a 10 day old out of office messages from a PA I never heard of. I needed a refill on a prescription so I called and spoke to a member of my doctor 's staff who said she would sent the request to the doctor. it's been 3 days and no one has contacted me nor sent the prescription to the doctor. In contrast, Care NE has been super responsive and their portal is extremely easy to use. I would caution anyone to refuse a referral to this place and request a different referral.

After going to consultations with many surgeons, it was an easy decision to go forth with the surgery after meeting with Dr. Z and his staff. The initial appointment was easy to schedule, and I was very satisfied with everything from the location, affordability, professionalism of his office staff, and his personal evaluation and details of the procedure. He was extremely patient with my questions and concerns. After seeing him, I wanted this to be done ASAP! All my appointments were scheduled ahead of time. I was given specific instructions on medications pre and post-surgery, with detailed explanations of what to expect day of surgery, post recovery, and beyond. The procedure went very well; the pain was minimal and not at all what I had imagined. Recovery time is different for everyone, however, there is not a time when I ever worried about the end result. It's been 2 months. My face looked better after 2 weeks and keeps looking better every day. This gift to myself was the best decision I ever made. Dr Z is not only a plastic surgeon with many years of experience, but he is also a true artist who gave me back 20 years of my life.

I want to start with a full disclosure because I think it's important. I'm a physician in a…read moresurgical subspecialty, but I have never been affiliated with Kent Hospital or any hospital in Rhode Island. I don't have privileges here, I don't work here, and I have no professional connection to the organization whatsoever. My perspective is simply that of a physician whose family member recently became a patient. To say I came away impressed would be an understatement. Like many healthcare professionals, I tend to notice the little things. How efficiently people communicate. Whether nurses seem supported. How quickly diagnostic studies are performed. Whether the physicians appear engaged. Those details often tell you far more about a hospital than any glossy brochure ever could. From the moment my relative arrived, everything moved with remarkable efficiency. The Emergency Department was organized, the staff remained calm despite what appeared to be a busy day, and there was a genuine sense that everyone knew their role. We never felt forgotten, and there was always someone willing to answer questions. If the person we asked didn't have the answer, they found someone who did instead of giving us the runaround. That level of communication is something every hospital should strive for. The nursing staff deserves special recognition. They were attentive, compassionate, and incredibly professional. They balanced kindness with confidence, which is reassuring for both patients and families. The physicians were equally impressive, taking the time to explain their thought process and discuss the plan of care in language everyone could understand. As a physician, I was also struck by how quickly ancillary services were able to turn things around. Diagnostic imaging was performed promptly, laboratory and pathology results were available surprisingly fast, and there never seemed to be unnecessary delays in moving the evaluation forward. That kind of efficiency doesn't happen by accident. It reflects good systems and good leadership. The hospital itself isn't the newest facility you'll ever walk into, but it's clean, well maintained, and clearly cared for. I'd much rather see a hospital invest in excellent people and efficient patient care than marble floors and fancy artwork in the lobby. From environmental services to patient transport, every employee we encountered was courteous and took pride in what they were doing. I also noticed that the Emergency Department appears to be undergoing expansion, and that's genuinely encouraging. Based on what I experienced, this is a hospital worth investing in. Kent has a reputation that some people still associate with years gone by. In my opinion, that reputation no longer reflects reality. Hospitals evolve, leadership changes, and cultures improve. Based on this experience, Kent deserves to be judged on what it is today, not what it may have been years ago. I don't hand out praise lightly, especially when it comes to healthcare. I spend my career inside hospitals, so my expectations are probably higher than most people's. Kent exceeded them. If my family ever needed hospital care again in Rhode Island, I would feel entirely comfortable bringing them here. Outstanding work by everyone involved.

Called and sent a picture, absolutely no help at all since I wasn't willing to drive over an hour there when I was still slightly groggy from anesthesia Isn't that why we can send a picture? To avoid an unnecessary trip, not to mention dangerous- asking a patient to drive 36 hours after surgery. I'll deal with the side effect so I don't risk my life or anyone else's. I was very disappointed in that and then my post op was fine but the attitude was chilly because I chose not to continue with a revision- at that time. She is a busy surgeon with a broad repertoire of skills and her staff got me an appointment in short order for my problem. Unfortunately, she had a surgical emergency that required her to cancel office hours, but the fact that she deals with such serious cases in addition to her other workload means she is a very competent, broadly trained physician. When she did finally see me, she was able to address my problem and fix it rather quickly, offering a timely solution. Note that anyone can perform surgery, now they have robots that can do it, but what distinguishes a good surgeon from a mediocre one is that the competent surgeon knows when *not* to operate or perform a seriously invasive procedure. Thankfully, Dr. Giovanni knew exactly what to do and I was sent on my way with a much less invasive procedure than I had anticipated. Her bedside manner was excellent, and she not only answered all my questions, but treated me like a human being and gave importance to all my concerns.
