I made the visit, and thankfully Dr. Lavin relieved my pain, removing a good section of the nail under anesthesia (local). His concern for my comfort both during adminstration of the needles for anesthesia and during the procedure itself was commendable. A good old-school type of doctor....experienced, but relatively young. I trust him..!

I came in to see Dr. Aaronson because I had a lot of pain in my bunion from playing sports. The office took a foot X-ray, and Dr. Aaronson told me I might have gout (highly unlikely in my opinion since I had gout once before and it felt nothing like this, which I told him). He told me I might need surgery and sold me a pair of $90 inserts. The next day I went to Marathon Sports because I heard they have a machine that you can use for free that scans your feet to find the right shoe size. I did this scan, and it turned out I was wearing sneakers that were 1/2 to 1 size too small! I bought new sneakers and the pain problem was solved! Dr. Aaronson NEVER EVEN MEASURED MY FEET AND TOLD ME I WAS WEARING SHOES THAT WERE TOO SMALL. I can't believe that a podiatrist didn't do the most basic thing of seeing if my shoes were the correct size and I instead found this out for free by simply going to a shoe store.

Hip Still Not Right - Need a Hip Replacement Revision…read more I had an anterior hip replacement with Dr. Andrew Porter. I am 56 years old and average weight. I had arthritis in my hip joints, thanks to genetics, and needed my hip replaced. Surgery with Dr. Porter went as planned, so I thought... Shortly after surgery, I noticed something was off. I had had my other hip replaced 7 years ago, so I was familiar with the recovery process. Unfortunately, my hip was painfully popping out of the socket and back in. I kept going to Dr. Porter telling him something wasn't right. Dr. Porter said I needed to continue with physical therapy, which I did. It is still no better after 5 months of therapy, and my range of motion is very limited. Dr. Porter told me a revision would also limit my range of motion and be more invasive than the first surgery. He basically tried to talk me out of fixing my hip. I can't live like this. I can't even walk properly. Needless to say. I never went back. Do not let the pain rush you into surgery. I should have waited for a more experienced surgeon.

I was injured in August 2020 and began seeing Dr. Simon Chao at University Orthopedics for a work…read morerelated neck injury I sustained while working for a local fire department. During my first appointment, Dr. Chao explained my injury in detail so that I was able to understand it fully, and the severity of it as well. I have had many appointments with Dr. Chao over the last few years and his knowledge and compassion need to be noted. Three weeks ago he operated on my neck to help relieve some of the pain and fix some of the issues I have been having. When he began the surgery, he realized the severity of my injury and deviated from the original surgical plan to give me the best possible outcome. Now, three weeks post surgery, I had a follow up appointment today and everything is going in the right direction. I quite possibly may need another surgery higher up in my neck in the future, very similar to what Dr. Chao had done for me recently. Again, he helped me understand what the issue was and why the surgery was needed. He's a professional in every meaning of the word, and, I am proud to recommended him to friends and family who are dealing with similar situations. If you are having neck pain or nerve pain, Dr. Chao is your man! I can't thank you enough for what he has done for me.
