For bespoke you'll have much better options around town and from traveling clothiers. Q has an issue with their shirts where the right collar sinks and they use cheap buttons that break with cleaners. Confirmed same issue with a few others that have used them. Very strange (and they don't know how to fix it, as I've taken all my shirts back multiple times) Measuring and fit is subpar on shirts - They don't pay attention to the little details **** They make you pay full upfront then have no urgency for good service and getting you your clothing in a timely manner. All other places you pay half, then the other half once your clothes come in and fit well which gives them better incentive for good service **** - On the positive , they have some nice options on sports coats From the places I've gone... Balani, Tom James, J Hilburn, King Brothers -- I would rank Q dead last. Even shirts I got online from Charles Tyrwhitt and TM Lewin hold up and fit better (and they're not even "made to measure") The horror stories are too long for Yelp. This place is a joke. All Hong Kong made garments...far from luxury. I worked for their father for ten years closely with our Hong Kong factory/distributor. When their father owned the business, he was not trying to pass it off as Hermes or Gucci, but rather custom, nice, stylish well-made garments at a decent price, His two sons came in to take over the business in expensive retail locations, jack the prices up to pay for their rent and lie to their customers as to the cut make and trim (CMT) of their clothing. Each member of the team works with the client to maximize the client's preferences of fabric, color, patterns, and cut. Each will suggest aesthetic options to make you look your best. The best part about working with Taylor, Jared, Ryan and Joshua is the unhurried, casual nature of the business. There is no hard sales job, no press for the commissioned sale. Quality deserves no rush. Clients are treated like family over time with repeat business and occasional discounts. Q Custom Clothier has a wonderful selection of suits, sport coats, pants, shirts, and all of the accessories you could possibly need. Q is a full service custom clothing shop that will build whatever you need from the ground up. I recently went into Q's Upper Kirby location in order to get a sports coat and a few custom shirts. Because of their pricing, it is typically much cheaper to buy one of their packages. In my case, the package I purchased provided a sports coat, pants and 3 custom shirts. If you have ever considered getting custom built clothing and chose not to because you were unsure about the process, I highly suggest you go into Q and talk with the staff. They will walk you through the process and make sure you really understand how these clothes are supposed to fit. After discussing the process, they will take all of you measurements in order to build the most perfect clothing for your body. The amount of options they have for fabric type, style and color can be somewhat intimidating but if you take the time to really look at all of your options, I guarantee you will find whatever it is you are looking for. It took me about 35-45 minutes just to figure out what fabric I wanted for my coat but I am very happy with the end result Everything about Q is not perfect. It is pretty pricey, but you get exactly what you pay for. Custom clothing is not for someone looking to save. Suits run in the $1200- $2500 range and sports coats start out at around $750. However, the custom shirts are very well priced (between $125 and $150). When compared to a Brooks Brothers shirt it is slightly more expensive but it is fit to your specific body. Accessories are also very moderately priced with the exception being in their shoes (which I did not buy, but at $800 a pair, I feel that is pricey even for custom shoes.) They also have a little issue with the length of time it takes to get your clothing, but it was explained to me that the issue has more to do with a new vendor. Any inconvenience in the timing will be more than made up for by their excellent customer service. When it took over 2 months to get my package completed, Q bought me an extra 3 custom shirts of my choice (a $450 value). Overall, I am very please with my experience at Q Custom Clothiers. read more

My boyfriend and I love this store. The staff is warm and friendly, the store is one of a kind. It's a very calm atmosphere where you can take your time and trust that your shirt, suit, or whatever you are having made, will come back looking incredible and fitting perfectly! Next door is Rye 51, they are connected in between. So when we're looking for denim or something to go out on the town in, there is always something fantastic on that side as well. Sadly some of the worst custom shirts I have ever had. I wear nothing but custom sports shirts and have them made all over the world. I had high hopes for this place but was very disappointed. The quality is just horrible. The fit is sloppy and loose. The cut through the hip is tapered horribly. The neck can never be buttoned to the top. The ends of the torso curl up. The collar bubbles the arms are so loose. The sleeve is to long. It honestly does not feel custom at all. I have friends who recently bought here and said they had to bring it back multiple times. I had 6 shirts made and I dread wearing them because the look is horrible. I finally have made the decision to write this review because I just can't stand to wear the shirt and have this uncomfortable fit. I also want to warn other costumers before purchasing. read more

David Collins and Q Custom Clothier deserve tremendous praise and a "5 Star" rating for the way they've taken care of me in providing custom shirts. David, in particular, gets the 5 star rating for his attention to detail and outstanding customer service. I've bought shirts from the company twice in the past year and have been very pleased with the quality and their attention to detail as well as fit and finish. And to the point, David Collins has been a joy to work with and I unequivocally recommend him and "Q" to anyone who wants to work with a company and individual who really cares about the customer and their clothing products. To illustrate the point, I recently discovered that I needed a new replacement tuxedo shirt for an upcoming wedding and it was on short notice. I felt confident enough in Q Custom Clothiers to order my shirt sight-unseen over the phone since they had my measurements on file. David walked me through the options and ensured the shirt would be completed on time and delivered to my home in the Northeastern U.S. by putting a rush on it. Then, unexpectedly, my travel plans changed and I had to leave early for a trip to Chicago before my shirt was due to arrive. David personally intervened and jumped through a lot of hoops with the shipping company to redirect the delivery (on a weekend, no less) so it arrived at my hotel in Chicago in time for the wedding. In this time of routine, automated phone answering systems and excuses, it was so refreshing to have a real person who took the time to not only see that it was done right, but personally call me to ensure the product was delivered on time, and to ensure once I got the shirt I was happy with the end result. I'll definitely buy more shirts from Q Custom Clothier and will be looking to add to my wardrobe with their other products, as well. And, when I do, I'll be sure to ask for David Collins. read more

A friend had recommended this store to me and I had the opportunity to go there today and was really blown away by both the selection of apparel and level of customer service. I came in looking for a new suit and some slacks and ended up purchasing not only that, but two custom shirts. I consider myself a very smart shopper and put a lot of emphasis not only on the quality of material, but on the friendliness of the staff. During my visit the staff was very nice and helpful, but not too pushy or rude. I made sure to get the names of the two ladies who helped me; Vanessa and Taylor. I was lucky enough not to come inside at a busy time and both ladies were able to assist me and give their honest opinion on what they thought looked best. Even when other customers walked in, I never once felt neglected or forgotten which showed me that they truly care about their clients. Other stores I have visited do not really give much of an opinion and say everything looks okay but I could actually see that they took interest in their customers. The only reason I did not give them 5 starts is because I found that the prices of some of their items seemed a tad bit excessive. However, one thing I found unique about Q Custom Clothier is that they offer clothing packages which tends to save you money if you plan to purchase a few items. Their consultation was also really great to have and I have already recommended them to some of my close friends. The staff here is helpful and friendly and overall amazing! They are up to date with the latest trends in fabrics, colors, and styles, and helped me with my first custom suit! They provided me with information about suits, sports coats, pants, shoes, and everything I needed to know about custom suits. Everything is customized to your body. They take the required measurements. They have you try on samples to see how they fit/feel. They explain with as much, or as little detail, as you need about anything related to the items they sell. They want to make sure you walk out with not just something you like. But, something you LOVE! They worked around my budget and my schedule to provide me with such a high-quality level of service and respect. Furthermore, they did not pressure me to make more and more purchases beyond what I needed. THAT is a quality that is seldom seen these days. I had never owned a custom suit before, and have no prior experience with purchasing a suit (other than what I purchased from chain department stores). But, the folks at Q made me feel like I had been going to them for years. I'm very happy with my experience at Q, and will definitely be going here again! read more

Unprofessional, fake, and rude staff (including David and Bryan). The staff does a sub par job at measurements, leaving you with an overpriced suit that can not be worn. Changing suit fabric without notifying me!!!!. I do not recommend this place to anyone. First, I ordered a custom suit and 2 shirts on Feb 22, 2015 and was told it will take 4-6 weeks. 4 weeks later I called to check if the suit arrived, they told me the 2 shirts arrived but the suit will take 2 more week. I said that fine, I will wait till the suit come then check the shirts and the suit together. 2 week later I called and the suit is not there yet!!! They apologize and offer a complementary shirt and they will deliver the suit in 1 week (I thought this was a reasonable offer). But 8 weeks later they did not deliver the suit. I went to the store this weekend to talk to Vanessa (the sale person) and I had my first look at the 2 shirts to find out that one of shirts fabric is not the same as the one I selected!!. She offered a complementary suit to make for this mistake and the delay in my suit. I said I do not have a trust anymore what if my suit comes with different fabric? She said, to be honest with you the original suit fabric you selected was out of stock and I replaced it with similar pattern (without notifying me)!!!! I cannot believe how unprofessional these people are (not getting the right shirt fabric, change my suit fabric and the delay) I decided to get my money back and I will never go there nor I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

I got my first custom suit here! They made me feel extremely comfortable since I was pretty much clueless when I walked in there. The sales rep Taylor also gave me a complimentary shirt with the suite that I purchased! You can't beat that! I went to this store for custom shirts which is one thing they are very good at. I set up an appointment as it takes a while to measure pick out material etc..... Staff was very helpful. Ryan actually was very helpful suggesting, explaining, consulting etc.... He took the time to make experience go quick and smooth. This is not a loaded review, I actually purchased 12 shirts, 2 pairs of pants and expect to get a custom jacket and shoes and will eventually get a suit. This is my second go round for custom shirts. First experience (different company) was good, this experience was much better. Do yourself a favor, call, set an appointment and get some clothes that fit exactly the way you want. Pick your own fabric (tons to choose from), customize your look without grabbing off a rack. You will be happy you did.
