We had a great experience at Puzzle Break! My group of 4 (2 veteran escape room goers and 2 newbies) did the Eventide Departure room and we had a blast. The theme and decor of the room was top notch. Our host Ruby was very helpful and professional (even when helping us deal with incorporating a very late member of our group). There was a great mix of puzzle types in this room, super creative use of the space/props, and some really challenging puzzles (but none that were pull-out-your-hair difficult). This is a GREAT room for experienced puzzle room goers looking for a fun new challenge! Though I would recommend trying out a different room first if you are in a group of people who have never done an escape room before. Looking forward to coming back to try out the other rooms! PRO TIP: Parking in this area is very difficult, especially on weekends. So make sure everyone in your group factors that challenge into their arrival plans ;) read more

They were ready for us and explained the rules and set up the scenario quickly. The puzzles weren't as hard as I'd liked, definitely needed the hardest setting for out group. Such a fun experience! We did the Red Manor room and the room was the right amount of challenging for semi newbies and also a fun story line. The customer service was also great from staff. Darius was so helpful getting us checked in and set up with the rules of the game. Our Gamemaster Hugo was also great, they helped make sure to give us room to find stuff ourselves but knew when to step in and help when we were struggling ha! During a trip to Seattle, I decided to do an escape room. Since I was by myself, I was able to join a group which consisted of a few escape room virgins! We played Escape the Lost Temple. The room itself was fairly challenging, and was not linear, so multiple subgroups worked on various parts simultaneously. There were 7 of us total, and while we were able to escape with just a few minutes to spare, I definitely felt that one needs a decent size group to complete this room. There were definitely some more non-traditional puzzles, and the decorations were fun. The rooms themselves were fairly self-contained and not all that big. We all appreciated the game walkthrough at the end as well. I also found it interesting that the game master stays with you inside the room the entire time. Unlimited hints. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, though nothing spectacular that wowed me. read more

What a gorgeous escape room! We had a lot of fun escaping Eventide for my daughter's birthday. Mo helped orient us and Holly was a terrific game master -- the two of them really made the experience special. We ranged from novice to fairly experienced (10+ rooms), and everyone was able to contribute and feel smart about solving something. The different puzzles also played to people's different strengths. And wowza! So many moments of delight thanks to the creative room design and story. This was our first time at Puzzle Break; we will definitely go back. read more

I went there as a group of 5 for the Eventide Departure, and my hubby and I arrived just barely on time. Luckily they spend 30 minutes before starting the game (that's why it's 90 minutes instead of 60), so I think it's still fine to be late(?). The parking there isn't particular easy, especially on weekends. The 30 min explanation before you start the game was useful, and you can ask them any question you may have. It was well-guided and the technology usage in the puzzle room was quite nice. The puzzles were well constructed and fun, and it's easy to miss some clues, but eventually everything leads to what you need to solve the puzzle. I like how you could actually ask the staff member when you get stuck, and I heard from hubby that it's much better than "ninja escape" (?) that he did back then. I highly recommend this for anyone who are looking for some fun!! Pro tip: observe well and link the relationship between objects is the key of solving this particular puzzle. read more

I've been to two escape room in Europe and one on the east coast. All of those were light years better than Escape the Lost Temple. I wish we tried one of their other rooms, as I am sure they are better than this one. Puzzles were just fair, lighting was poor. Two employees stayed in the room with us. Although they were very nice, it just felt weird. I happen to love escape rooms and puzzles and this one was meh. In other rooms I've done, you had to work more with your team. This one you had to work separately to get everything accomplished. It felt like I was doing it alone and missed out on things. I didn't get to see the entire thing play out. That and two people in the room watching, made my experience rather underwhelming. Working alone may be what you are looking for and it may be good for a work-related-team-building exercise, but it was not fun for me. Did we finish: not quite. The ending was very convoluted. Am I upset that we didn't finish: No! Yes, that's the point, but it's the getting there that is supposed to be fun. It was not. read more

Pretty fun escape room! Took kids aged 11 to 13 years and they enjoyed it. Creative ideas for the themes of rooms and with the assortment of puzzles but the decor, games, and experience could have been more exciting and engaging with more surprises and an understandable story line. We rented a party room for extra money and the staff was overly stern and seemed annoyed with us being in this weird room nearby the gamers control rooms (I would not rent it again). It was a bit challenging to find the place (tiny sign on a door) and in a slightly sketchy part of town but fine overall. Glad to see escape rooms in Downtown. Our coordinator was helpful and polite which enhanced the whole experience. read more

What a great experience here. Went with my wife, sister-in-law and daughter. Our themed room was puppeteer. Clues were reasonable and room had great decoration. I only give it a four because I had been to Escape Hour in Tacoma which I would give a five. I would arrive early here since Seattle parking can be challenging. Have fun here. Great escape room company! We have done the carnival and submarine escape rooms and they were both very cool! The more people you have then the more fun it will be. Arrive 15 minutes early so you do not have to worry about being late... parking may take some time too. If you are late they cannot let you in because it will throw off the schedule for everyone else. They have so many cool puzzles that focus on a variety of skills. I love the word puzzles but they also have number/pattern puzzles and some that are slightly more science related. The staff is all nice and can provide a little bit of help if you need it. Nothing is scary... some people seem to be worried about that. No photos allowed but they will take a group picture for you at the end. read more

We did this as a teambuilding activity for work and I was pretty skeptical. Mandatory fun is tricky in the best of times and during a pandemic it can be downright awful - I've had enough of awkward virtual happy hours. We had about 40 participants and were broken into groups of 5-6, ours had 1 person who had used Zoom once, nobody who had done a puzzle room, and nobody that was particular enthusiastic about the event. Once we got into the swing of things however we started having a really good time! We had to ask for a couple of clues and we ended up solving the puzzle right as time was expiring (ok, maybe 10 seconds after, but they gave it to us). Had a good time, recommend! read more
