My monthly escape group had a wonderful experience at Seattle Escape Games! The Room. We had a group of 6 that played through Cell Block 12. Awesome theme, great room decoration, and a solid mix of puzzles that were a nice spread of challenging. THOUGH! I will say, I recommend you take on this room with a group of people you know well/have done an escape room with before (so you know what behavior to expect). I can't imagine trying to do this room with strangers or people who shut down when frustrated. The Facility. I wasn't sure what to expect trucking all the way out to the Georgetown warehouse district, but I was pleasantly surprised! Its clear that having such a large building allows Seattle Escape to build big games with multiple rooms and lots of decor/detail. There is also plenty of space to park, which is a rare and beautiful thing in Seattle. THOUGH---I will say, if you are an out-of-towners/generally nervous about parking in odd places---I recommend booking a room during the day. This is definitely a warehouse district that might look sketchy to anxious individuals. The Staff. We had Maddie as our Game Master, and she was wonderful! She did a great job explaining everything, was patient with us in all the right moments, and was generally a lot of fun. I also LOVED that Seattle Escape had a system set up to digitally tip the game masters! Seattle Escape won a lot of points from me by having a system like this in place to support their staff. All in all, great experience, highly recommend, and my group will definitely be coming back to try out the other rooms soon! read more

Visiting Seattle Escape Games was an awesome experience for my first escape room! While the rest of my group was arriving for our scheduled time, Dane patiently answered all my questions and gave me some great advice for my first escape room. We chose the Bank Robbery room, and it was such a blast--extremely fun and just the right level of challenging. Our group of eight managed to finish the course in just under an hour. Dane was incredibly helpful, giving us gentle hints when we got stuck on certain parts. He also had a fantastic sense of humor and kept us laughing with his jokes throughout. Dane truly made the experience more enjoyable, and I'm so glad we had the pleasure of his guidance. I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the courses! read more

We were looking for something to do on a rainy day in Seattle. We convinced the kids that an escape room would be just the thing to do. Initially approaching this place feels eerie. There seems to be an abandoned building across the street that has some odd people hanging around. Be sure to lock your car! There is parking available so that part is nice. Once you're inside the environment is very cozy and friendly. Our game host check us in quickly and have us a locker to lock away our things. If you haven't played an escape room before, they recommend that phones/wallets and etc. Be placed in the locker. Make sure your most "responsible" adult has the key. As they will be the ones to hold it for the duration of the game. The escape room itself was creatively built and just the right amount of challenge. They have a variety of rooms that offer different and unique experiences. We were able to escape and then captured a nice little picture at the end. Disclaimer to start: we finished the room with minutes to spare but the win wasn't satisfying at all. I loved the fact that they had some last minute availabilities on a Saturday night. We booked for the 10:15 bank job room. Parking, first of all, during this time of year is a bit frustrating due to the haunted house. We were lucky to find something nearby on the street but we were rushing in after I received a call at 10, asking if we were going to make it on time. The tone of voice was very abrupt and rude. While I understand you guys have the rule that we *must* arrive 15 minutes prior to game time, we finished all of our waivers within 2 minutes and we waited around for a few minutes after throwing our things in the locker provided because it was really busy that night. We were finally debriefed and the rules of the room were very straight forward but not once did the employee mention that the bricks in the room were *not* part of game play. So then we were walked into a room to watch a video about the room we were about to play in and were given no further direction when it ended. We stood there confused like what are we doing. The employee came back out, mid eating, and said sorry then led us to our room. We finally start the escape room and we're doing our thing when we realize, hey the bricks move! Maybe there's a clue under there? So we start taking the floor apart. A few of us wondered "wow this is a ton of bricks to look under if they actually hid a clue there" and we were really under the impression that she would've told us to stop ASAP, as soon as she found out we were messing with the bricks, especially if we didn't hear anything about NOT using the bricks. A few minutes pass by, and mind you, this is a one hour escape room, (Every. Minute. Counts!!), she finally says "I told you guys not to mess with the bricks" so rudely, we were really caught off guard. Like okay, thanks for telling us NOW? Somehow during this whole mess, we got access to the next part of the room and we were ready to move on until she said, "you guys can't just leave the bricks there, they have to go back where you found them" again, in a very rude tone. Okay fine, so half of us stayed, the other half moved on. Because of all this, there was a small injury that happened to my boyfriend who was trying to put away these dumb bricks. She came out once we asked her for a bandaid and was nice enough to slip him a hint but that was maybe the only nice thing she did all night. Anyway, moving on to the escape room itself... I've done a few escape rooms before and this has to be the worst one I've ever done. Our only saving grace with this room was the fact that we were celebrating a room so we had three free hints. I believe I saw that a hint usually costs 2-3 minutes? Nothing was clear, there were a bunch of miscellaneous things which, in a normal escape room, you're fair game to touch and move around, but this one? We kept getting scolded to not mess with things and it didn't make sense because hello? We're trying to solve things. I don't know if you dread your job and if we were a major inconvenience to your night as a last minute booking, but it doesn't hurt to just be nice?? As previously mentioned, we did escape the room but the ending was extremely underwhelming and anticlimactic, to the point where we didn't even know if we actually won or not? The girl offered to take our picture at the end and somehow it ended up being not the best photo anyway with it being off centered. So petty. All in all, there is no way I would refer friends to go here. Please go to Locurio (Fremont) or Entangled (Marysville and Lynnwood) for much better and well thought out rooms and wayyyy friendlier staff. They also take better photos at the end of the game. Lol! TLDR: rude staff ruined the whole experience from start to finish, you do get free hints if you're celebrating a birthday but you're better off spending your money elsewhere with better parking and rooms. **edit: meant to say bank job room, not cell block. read more

I had a great experience at Seattle Escape Games. As an escape room enthusiast (having done 20-30 rooms), I would definitely recommend this room for people new to escape rooms. My group did Cell Block 12. Parking was super easy. They have some parking spots you can take. The theme was pretty on point. I had an overall great experience from beginning to end. I appreciated the variety of puzzles and how intuitive it was to solve most of them. They were definitely solvable by people of any experience. Was just forced to cancel a reservation because 3 of the 5 people in our group were stuck at work. Called 2 hours ahead to cancel. This wasn't good enough. Didn't set foot in the room but they are still keeping my $200+. If you make reservations here, better cross your fingers and hope that real life doesn't get in the way. No need for any employees to respond to this with "but we have a 24 hour cancellation policy". I don't care and don't want to hear it. We have spent the past week working through each of the rooms here with varying friends, without giving away too much here is our brief run down: The Morgue - This is the easiest room of the lot. They give it a 5/10 but I would say it is easier. All the rooms in this place are pretty linear, but this one is the worst when it comes to that. We did it with 6 people which seemed to be too many, though for reasons I will not say you need no less than 3. A good beginner room, not recommended for experienced escapees. Abducted - The same six of us returned for this room after feeling like the morgue wasn't challenging enough. They stated this is their hardest room...I agree but more because there is a lot to do. Some fun aspects of this room...we left laughing and talking about the different puzzles. Six people seemed like a good number for this room. Cell Block 12 Only four of us this time, three of the previous and a noob. I don't recommend starting someone new on this room. And communication is KEY more so on this room so you will want to make sure you jive with each other. This had a lot of good puzzles seasoned escapees will appreciate. Another I wouldn't recommend more than 4. The Bank Job Four of us returned to finish out the offerings. This one was really fun as well. Lighter on puzzles than abducted so four worked well. We escaped all the rooms and got on the leaderboard on Abducted and Bank Job. If you get on the leaderboard then you get a free printed photo ($5 otherwise) The lobby has puzzles to keep you busy while waiting and the clocks for the rooms that are going on - which are fun to watch tick down and wonder where the teams are in their progress. The staff were great, friendly and fun to chat with regarding the rooms. Honestly it's a great setup here and we are looking forward to them potentially having more room offerings. read more

This was our first time at Seattle Escape Games and we started with the easiest room which was The Georgetown Morgue. Parking was a bit tricky as the Haunted Morgue right next door was packed but we managed to find a spot. The Georgetown Morgue room is rated 5/10 difficulty, you get 60 minutes and the recommended team size is 4-8 people. We had 7 people and it was waaaaaay too many! The rooms are small. I would recommend no more than 4-5. The puzzles were very linear (you could really only work on one thing at a time so most of the time one or two people worked on solving something and the rest of us kind of stood around) which is another reason I would recommend a smaller team, you just don't need that many people. The props and the look of the rooms was awesome. Lots of attention to detail. The host was very friendly but I feel like she gave too many clues even when we weren't really stuck. Considering we finished with almost 20 minutes to spare, we definitely didn't need so many clues. This room would be excellent for a smaller group of beginners. All of us have done multiple escape rooms before so this one definitely felt too easy. We definitely plan to go back to try out some of the harder rooms! read more

Really solid room escape experience and a great one to do with co-workers. We had eight people and did the Bank Job puzzle. We even finished with under four minutes left! I've done maybe 5 other room escapes and this was one of my favorite room venues yet. There were about 6 small rooms we progressed through which made it feel like we were making real progress. The actual puzzles were great too and everyone could contribute. Gah! I want to talk about it but don't want to give anything away. We're already planning to come back at the end of each quarter. I hope they update these rooms every so often, because we were for sure impressed. read more

The CS was great, the game was SO cool (Cell Block 12) and we're already booking for next month, another room. We've done escape rooms before, this supersedes them all!! Five of us 30 and 40-somethings did this together (private reservation) for a friend's birthday, and had way more fun that we'd expected! There were multiple rooms in the bank (we did The Bank Job) and the set was quite theatrical, with cute attention to detail. We laughed a lot and scratched our heads and rejoiced at the shared Aha! moments. The gentlemen tending to our group (wish I'd caught his name, we came on a Sunday evening) was perfect: friendly, patient, professional. We also took our group photo in front of a row of coffins, since we came during Halloween season. Super fun! For most of us this was our first escape room, so we cannot compare it to others, but one in our group said this was his second experience, and it far surpassed his first. Tip: leave all your stuff in the lockers (they provide a key). I brought in a water bottle and it was really annoying to hold it, as I wanted to use both hands for some of the rooms. Every time I set it down it got knocked over, and then at the end I forgot it in the bank! Another tip: Try and gather a group of at least 4 so you can have the place to yourself. Being stuck in that small space for an hour with some random annoying dude could lessen the experience. For better or worse, during Covid they're only doing private groups anyway. read more

The first escape game my boyfriend and I participated in was back in June of 2016. Since then, we've become addicted and have done 5. Out of all 5 our favorite two where here at the Seattle Escape Games! We've done both the Cell Block and the Morgue one (there are more now but when we went only these two were opened). Both a really good I couldn't give you a favorite. I don't want to ruin anything about the games but I do want to mention my favorite part is that the game takes place in multiple rooms so clues are really spread out. Some games I've done all the clues are in one room and it's just overwhelming and seems disorganized. The layout of the Seattle Escape Games is the best so far! Also the staff really just makes it. Super friendly and upbeat. I've been to a few where the front people aren't really into the rooms and that takes away from the atmosphere of the story-line. Also what I like is while your waiting for other people to fill out the waivers they have small games on the tables that you can play to pass the time. No where else I've been has that! There is also a ton of parking in the area so you don't have to worry about that. We will definitely be back to play the other two. Especially since we just saw that Costco is selling 4 tickets for 80$ which is a steal since (from what I remember) the tickets are around 30-35 per person. I recommend you pick some up! read more

Now that I've done 20 different escape rooms, I feel like I can write a fairly thorough review that would be helpful for readers deciding where to venture on their first or 50th room. When researching more rooms to tackle, I found that the reviews didn't always tell me the information I needed the most to decide where next to go (without giving up spoilers of course). In particular, I wanted to know how many players the reviewer actually had for which room. It was also good to read about the players' experience level, quality of the technology and how cohesive/immersive the theme was, and whether the puzzles were complex and diverse (for example, I had done an escape room that was almost 90% manual combo locks, which was disappointing). So, for my own reviews, I will use a consistent format providing the level of detail that I would hope for, with the goal that these will be helpful to escape room enthusiasts like myself. And please drop me a PM if you have any room suggestions for me - I'm all ears! ROOM: Abducted. # OF PARTICIPANTS AND LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE: This was our 20th room. We had a group of 7 people: my brother had done 2 previously, my sister-in-law had done 1, my brother and husband were newbies, and my niece had done a few. DIVERSITY OF PUZZLES: Really great room with a good variety of puzzles, from mazes to games to, you name it! Some of the tasks were extremely unique that we hadn't seen before. There wasn't a lot of tech involved, but what they lacked in technology, they made up for in creativity and some cool doorways and décor (see below on Immersion/Theme). I'm usually a sucker for tech, so it says a lot when I like a room this much that isn't high in tech. TRACKING TIME: There was a digital timer in the room clearly showing us how much time we had remaining. IMMERSION/THEME: Our hostess was Emily. She did a great job of walking us into the room and giving us a brief intro to the theme. The décor was one of the best immersion sets I've ever seen; I would say this one tied with Locurio's StoryKeeper. Many of the puzzles were cleverly crafted to link to the theme and room. It was definitely very well designed and clearly thought through. This room was super creepy, and very convincing, so definitely not for the faint of heart!! HOST PARTICIPATION: Emily stayed outside of the room, but it was clear that she was watching our progress because she gave us pertinent hints when we asked for them. SUCCESS: We failed, sadly, but had a ton of fun! Emily allowed us to work through the few remaining items we missed, even though our time was up. I feel like 7 people was too large of a group because there were times when we definitely felt cramped. However, I feel like 4 wouldn't be enough people to crack all the puzzles because of some of the physical requirements that simply needed more body count. I'm not sure what the right size is for this room. Somewhere in between 4-7, I think, depending on level of experience. This is, after all, their hardest room (according to their website). So fun. It was okay. Went in with a group of 6, but Robert was kinda salty. Masks on at all times which was sweaty af. I was sorta embarrassed. I brought all 5 of my friends to have a good time and it was a let down. Feels weird having a dude creeping on you with a camera, but it's an escape room so I get it. I just feel like Seattle sucks customer service wise. After the escape room we went over to the Bull Dog and had a better time. read more

Pros - interactive, it's not just solving riddles, there are parts of the game where you physically have to complete an action. Quick service. Parking!! Friendly staff. Very challenging riddles, appreciated that. Cons - malfunctioning equipment. The escape door opened when I moved it even though we weren't at that part yet, the employee had to tell us to stop when we pushed the door open. Another part of the room was also not working, hence why we couldn't get past a certain riddle. Parts of the interactive aspect takes too much time, cutting our time shorter. read more

Great room! I didn't know where the main entrance was and the haunted house was going on in the same building so one of the nice prop guys saw me from a window and let me through a secret passage way to get to the waiting area - he must of felt bad it was pouring down rain that night. Fun thinking games were set up on tables to keep yourself busy before you waited for your group and turn. My husband and I were having fun on the magnet air hockey game and wouldn't mind having that for our own entertainment! They also have lockers for your own personal belongings. We did the Georgetown Morgue with a group of 6 (plus 2 more who we didn't know). Have to be honest, a group of 6 was PLENTY to fit in the room as 8 was quite snug and it was difficult to maneuver and look around for clues. Loved the props as some of the things looked real and were freaky to touch, so it was definitely fun to explore and find things. We happily escaped with a minute to spare and will most likely go back again to do another escape room with this company. We wouldn't have known Seattle Escape Games existed until we found a great deal at our local Costco for tickets. I don't think they have the deal anymore, but doesn't hurt to try and seek it out for a fun night on a town with your friends/family. The escape room was a cool concept, what didn't make sense was having a difficult puzzle to do to get into a different room but getting the option to skip the puzzle because it's too hard? I didn't like the skip option the game master kept offering. What made it more frustrating is having the game master continually give unwanted hints for the game. I paid to solve puzzles not be told answers the whole time. I feel if the game master stopped being so involved it would've been a lot more fun to do the puzzles. She just made you feel so stupid the whole time. I also felt it was super rude that at the end of the room she made our group feel like shit by saying that we should've just done an easier one since it seemed to be too hard for us. Super unnecessary, I've had game masters that are super nice about not getting out of a room but this one was just an ass. She was kind of just an ass from the get go so I think it left a sour taste in my mouth. If you're gonna be a game master be fun and inviting not cold and rude to a group of people just trying to have a good time. Also maybe if you're gonna give people an option to skip a room instead of doing the puzzle maybe replace that puzzle? All in all I don't think I'll be going here again strictly based on customer engagement. So pretty much my least favorite escape room company by far. read more

Came with a group of 5 to play Abducted and overall we really enjoyed the experience! The set design was AMAZING. With the exception of the original room you start in, everything else was super in theme and overall added a great sense of urgency to escape. Pros: *set design and story are pretty strong. A lot of it you need to understand for yourself but it wasn't hard to do that, very well done. *immersion is on point, nice way to start the game *nothing ever felt too "out there." Every puzzle had a very logical solution to it. Really enjoyed that. *quite interactive. There was never a point where I personally was bored or just wandering around while others solved things. Cons: *though I didn't experience this, some of my team was quite bored having to manually operate the lights. It was quite tedious to do. *(Spoiler) there is a puzzle that we unanimously agreed shouldn't have been included in the first place. We struggled for a bit to put a puzzle together only for it to indicate that something would open eventually. This was not needed as we clearly knew it would open as there was a combination lock on the door without a no touching sign. It wasted quite a few minutes of our time. *there are quite a lot of technical design flaws with this game. Every few moments the game master would come on to say "that's just decorative," "only one person goes through," "you need more info," all of which was quite strange. Too many points where there were too many "technical" things we were instructed not to do though they weren't breaking the rules (for example, it wasn't posted anywhere that no more than one person could enter a crawl space). Rather than letting it slide and not break the immersion, it really kept taking us out of the game. Overall, quite well done though and I look forward to trying another one of their games! read more

came back for the Georgetown Morgue room. of the three that I have done here (Cell Block 12, Abduction, Georgetown Morgue), I think Georgetown Morgue is my least favorite... Props and decorations are very detailed, very spooky. do NOT take your little kiddos here, way too gross spooky. the puzzles themselves were pretty basic though and kind of boring. nothing really that unique. My main issue this visit was my immersion was completely ruined because we could hear the other rooms around us SCREAMING and we could hear the intercom system of the other rooms SO clearly that we event got confused at times if it was our game master or not. so I think the noise issue is definitely something that needs to be addressed because it really made me sad and made it difficult to do the room read more

Recently hosted a team building event at Seattle Escape Games. Deanna was great in coordinating our event details and timely communication. Cara took it from there and was very accommodating in allowing me to set up ahead of time and kept us on track with getting our team checked in and ready to play. The event space was perfect for bringing in the caterer and enjoying a fun time together while other groups were playing. The escape games were fun and challenging. A lot of fun. I went with my siblings and our significant others. There are 4 escape room themes. We did the mortuary. The setting feels genuine but not so authentic it scares you, which is ideal for me since I'm scare of horror movies as it is. The games are multi-rooms with multi-step puzzles. There is a person watching who can assist and who makes sure you don't try to pry anything that doesn't need to be pried lol. The person we had was pretty attentive to our group but not intrusive. He set us up and led us to the room. He's not welcoming or smiley: he is not a customer service person. But he does his job and we appreciate his attentiveness to our group. We are already planing to go again here to try a different escape room. read more

The puzzles were clever but some parts took much longer than expected, which we thought was due to poor design of the puzzle. Instead of a movie our family decided we'd do the Escape Room. Wow, it was so much fun!!

We tried several escape rooms in Seattle and this one is by far the best. My husband and I went for both the cell block and morgue (on different days). Their rooms are very well designed and the puzzles are not too crazy - you leave with a satisfaction of knowing they were good puzzles vs thinking that no one could ever crack down something like that in a million years! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They have two more themes coming up and we are definitely going to those as well!!! For many in our group this was our first escape room experience. The escape room we did was creative and challenging but not to the point where we couldn't get out. Shout out to Auto- our host for the evening -who made the experience extra special as he was personable and helpful! Our Game Master was horrible. He never told us when we were to start. We were waiting for his cue. We were asking for a clue repeatedly... nothing for five minutes. When we received a clue, he repeated himself. We were told not to force things if they didn't turn... later he said to turn. When I told him I had been trying several times, he admitted had he been watching he would have said something. What the heck, man?!!! The game was well set up and intriguing.
