We did the Wizarding School with a group of 6 adults and 2 children (7 & 10). The kids had just finished reading Harry Potter and loved the idea of getting dressed in robes. The rooms are fairly dark and we struggled a bit with seeing some of the hints. Fairly linear order of solving puzzles relative to some escape rooms so having a larger group is not an advantage and letting the kids get a stab at some of the mechanics may not be recommended for the more competitive groups. This was not a top 5 escape room but somewhere in the top quartile. They had some very cool interactive programming that was impressive. Some of the video sequences were on the slower side with a slight lag. The Harry Potter theme was def a plus! In Seattle region the top 1 is still Locurio - Storykeeper. But wizarding school was better than some others I been. read more

When traveling, my partner and I love to try out the local escape rooms. We did both the Space War room and The Wizarding School rooms with our party of 6. We only used one hint in each room, the puzzles were challenging but not so difficult that we couldn't solve it. They were also very unique, definitely not traditional puzzles and the decor made them all the better. I wouldn't recommend doing more than a party of 4-5 players, there were some puzzles that some of our party couldn't quite join in on or having too many cooks in the kitchen made it more challenging than it needed to be. Our game master, Mindy, was super sweet and helpful and only offered hints when we asked. We're interested in trying out the other rooms the next time we're in Seattle! read more

My party and I did The Wizarding School escape room and we all were excited to do it! We had to buzz in to head downstairs. There was only one staff member who was friendly and helpful. There wasn't any phone service down there so we used walkie talkies to ask for hints from the GameMaster. We had issues with our walkie talkie where the GameMaster couldn't hear us so we had to exit the room to get his attention. For one time, he was nowhere to be found so we waited a couple of minutes for him to show up. There was only one staff member who was there to check guests in, be the GameMasters for multiple escape rooms, and to check guests out. He was super busy but the service wasn't great due to there only being one employee multitasking. The escape room itself was super fun and we passed it with one minute to spare. read more

SPACE WARS!!! Literally the hardest and funnest escape room I have ever done! Now you may have just read that opening sentence and thought, "But sir, the website says the Wizarding School is the most difficult!" ... No way Jose!! I just finished the Wizarding School with some friends and found it to be much simpler than the Space Wars escape room. Space Wars gives you 75 minutes rather than the usual 60 minutes and you need every minute. My group finished with only 4 minutes left. I gave this place a 4/5 for a few reasons. 1. Your Game Master can either make or break your experience. The game hosts are great people, but if they chime in too much or offer too many hints, then it ruins the experience 2. Sometimes you can't tell if the mechanics of the puzzle are working or not I recommend only doing Space Wars and only having a group of 4. Any more than 4 and someone is bound to not be participating in the puzzle solving. You would miss out on an amazing experience if you don't do Space Wars and escape the evil clutches of Darth Hater. read more

I love Quest Factor! Their rooms are well themed, the puzzles are challenging, and the staff is FANTASTIC. We did the Game of Kings room in June for my husband's birthday. We absolutely loved the theming. The props were high quality and well put together. We especially loved the throne. The puzzles were challenging and fun, but if we're being honest, they were a little incoherent. There were a couple of puzzles that weren't inherently related to each other, so it was very difficult for us to guess that one puzzle was used as a reference to the other. Because of this, we didn't escape (we were close though). When the game master explained everything, it all made sense, but we don't think we would've escaped even if we had a little bit more time. Additionally, one of the puzzles was outdated and no longer used in the room, but the puzzle was left up. It was confusing, and we weren't sure if this was an intentional red herring. However, despite these puzzles, we still had a wonderful experience and enjoyed the thrill of an escape room. We were previously scheduled at the Redmond location but they had to cancel on us last minute, so they gave us the option to switch to another location, which is how we ended up at the SLU one. The reason I said the staff is fantastic is they drove over to the SLU location at a time of our choosing, hosted our escape room, AND gave us a full refund for our inconvenience. This was totally unnecessary, but very appreciated. To me, this shows great customer service. Also, we did the National Treasure room at the Shoreline location and also had a wonderful experience. We'll definitely be back! I can't wait to try the other rooms, including the Wizarding School and the Jurassic Island one. read more

We had a birthday gathering for my 14 at the Lake Union location. Staff was very accommodating and professional. The kids were very happy with their adventure. It a bit of an adventure to get to the place and you need to get buzzed in at the front door, the address is marked clearly on the building, but there is just a little paper sign in the window that explains you need to be let in. If you wish to stay for refreshments and cake part of the birthday party you have to do it in the lobby which is the only thing I didn't care for. The kids didn't mind at the lobby situation at all. As the parents I was feeling like we were being to loud the whole time we were doing cake. They have bone chilling air condition so it a great thing for a hot day. read more

This was a great family bonding experience. We did the Wizarding School but you don't need to know Harry Potter to play. Our youngest was 8 and he found it a little scary in the beginning but it was easy for him to leave the room with his grandma and come back a few minutes later. He ended up loving it. The host offered great tips (which we asked for using a walkie talkie) to keep things moving and he even let us finish the game over our time because nobody needed the room. No food or drink (even water bottles) allowed in the rooms but you can leave the room if someone needs a snack or bathroom. They have free lockers if you want to store your stuff. No taking photos or using your phone in the room but you can keep it on you. The host took a group photo for us at the end. When you get there, there's a code to get inside. You need to keep pressing "3" on the keypad until you see Quest Factor and then it will dial them. We highly recommend this location for any age. read more

This is my second time doing an escape room. We were a group of three and attempted the Game of Kings room. Unfortunately, we didn't escape because we only got halfway through the second room. Most of the puzzles in the first room were pretty lengthy which set us back in escaping. The pen required for one of puzzles were also missing which we didn't realize we needed until twenty minutes later into the game. Aside from that, the service was great; we got into a room right away and our room master communicated with us through walkie talkies. I forgot her name, but she answered immediately and gave us helpful unlimited hints! Payment was dealt with after finishing the escape room and we got a $15 discount in total for bringing our student IDS! Definitely worth coming back! read more

It was my first experience with escape rooms, and it was truly memorable! It started with professional, and attentive staff that helped our group throughout the quest room. We've hit a few dead ends and stalled in the room, but our game master was able to help us to navigate, and pushed us towards the right direction without giving away the puzzle. We did not solve it on time since it was a difficult room. However, the experience was great and we're looking forward to return, finish the room we started, and try a few more! After vowing to not return, a few friends invited me to check out a new location by surprise. Come to find out, we were playing at Quest factor and this time I played Space Wars. Though this experience wasn't exactly the same as my first experience here, overall, it was disappointing to my friends who had never played a room before. Positives: The set design is AMAZING. Give credit where it is due, they really spend a lot of money to make extremely immersive environments. Though the themes and content takes away any chance of an immersive storyline, the rooms are so well decorated that it itself deserves many accolades. The staff are also really nice, I wish they introduced themselves to us by name, but nonetheless whoever they were, quite standout employees! The ending was also quite enjoyable. Really loved it thematically. Negatives: Seconds into entering the room, the host chimed in to tell us exactly what needed to be done. Once we finished the first puzzle, they chimed in again to tell us the next step. It felt strange being told what we needed to do without asking. Secondly, it felt like quite a linear game, despite being told it wasn't. With only 3 people, we couldn't imagine what anyone else would be doing at any other point. Lastly, most puzzles weren't even puzzles. With the exception of a logic puzzle that seemed to have multiple correct answers, most of the puzzles were accuracy tasks that were either tedious or required you to be quite precise. Overall, much better than Wizarding School, but not highly recommended of the many options in Seattle. read more

I've never been to an escape room and neither has my partner so we really have nothing to compare our experience to, but simply want to say that we had a really fun time here and that it was totally worth it. I booked the Game of Kings room, because my partner and I are both huge fans of Game of Thrones. This was a surprise date for us. I'm pleased with how easy the online booking process was. The cost was average for what we'd spend for an hour of entertainment in Seattle so we weren't offended by the amount we had to pay at all. Overall it was a great experience. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I had a reservation, however when I arrived at the set time I was told that it had been cancelled. No call, no prior notice was given before I arrived... they didn't mention why this happened, I needed to get that from the call center. Sometimes things happen and I get that, but it's the lack of communication that ruins this place for me. Needless to say, I won't be back. I tried the Jurassic Island room at Quest Factor. It was my first time playing a game at Quest Factor, but not my first escape room in general. I was blown away by the set design of the Jurassic Island room. Of all the rooms I have played, this one probably had the most effort as far as props, custom set pieces, and ambiance. The puzzles were pretty fun, although a little linear sometimes. The staff was also really friendly and helpful during our journey. We were able to escape with 3 players in about 40 minutes. Unfortunately, there were multiple technical hiccups. Puzzles didn't exactly work as planned, and the staff had to help us past some obstacles. Some of the environmental effects also didn't work. If the (multiple) technical problems didn't exist, then this would be a 5 star review, but as is I have to bump it down a notch. read more

Unfortunately this was one of the very few escape rooms I lost, the reason I start with that is to explain that these rooms are very difficult. It was two of us that did the room I have experience my partner did not, when I booked the room I took a look online and thought I booked the easiest room then had for our party size, unfortunately their rating system online didn't seem to make sense and j was told after the room was actually their hardest room, needles to say I was a hit peeved. The room it self was extremely well done high end props, tricks, and traps and well worth the price tag. However the other issue I have with the room that I completed was it was supposedly for 2-6 people however the puzzle that ultimately caused our demise really needed more than two people to complete, which was also admitted to us by our game master. All and all it was a good place and I would go again. Would probably call to be certain of the difficulty beforehand though. But I would deff recommend checking it out if you have done a few, if it's your first time a place with much easier rooms may make you more comfortable. read more

We did the Space Wars game this weekend and the entire experience was incredibly frustrating. The website in accurately lists this room as 4/5 difficulty (as it lists 75% of the rooms at this location), but staff informed us that this was the hardest room, AND that one group member will be separated from the rest and locked in a different room, a fact absent on the website. Most of the puzzles in the room were not working. They mostly involved electronic puzzles that were malfunctioning. We had to ask for hints and help repeatedly to bypass them. The game master was not paying enough attention to alert us that the room was malfunctioning, so we wasted enormous time. The first puzzle in particular was broken, and our Walky talkies were not working initially so we were unable to communicate with the game master for hints for half of the game. Of the remaining puzzles, they mostly involved incredibly precise timing between two rooms over Walky talkies and were not fun. Needless to say, between all of the difficulties we did not escape the room. Under best working circumstances it would have been an infuriating room since all puzzles relied on relating information by Walky talkies, not critical thinking. We were ultimately offered $20 off the price. read more

Had an escape room booked for a bachelor party and they called to cancel the reservation the day of only hours before the time we booked. They did issue a refund of the deposit however did not offer to get us rebooked into another one of their rooms for that day and it was almost impossible to find another escape room to book the day of. I'm visiting Seattle and wanted to see how escape room is like here. We did the Space escape room and nothing works. It was horrible. Half of the time we were standing around waiting for the machine to work. The game master is no help either. Quest master is supposed to watch how the game goes at every step, and not just step away. Every time we ask a question, we have to keep repeating. Then only to find out it's another glitch. We have gone through at least 5 major glitches. The whole experience was not fun - we also have people that are first time doing escape rooms so this was a bad start for them. They promised a "HUGE" discount but only gave us 20%. Not that we aren't appreciative, it's just if more than half of the game doesn't work then it should be more deep discount. At the end, the quest master named Mindy asked us for more tip. What? Overall, the experience was disappointing. I hope the owner sees this and do some big improvements. read more

I've played a fairly large range of escape rooms in the Seattle area and this is undeniably the worst escape room experience I've ever had. If you read no other part of this review, I recommend that you explore to the other better designed escape rooms in the area. We chose the Space Wars room, which they themselves have rated the hardest of their own escape rooms. However, I wouldn't even consider this a difficult escape room, it's a frustrating and poorly designed room intentionally predicated on removing the ability to communicate. The puzzles themselves are simplistic and overall feel like busy work, and they're frustrating because one group of players cannot actually talk to the others. It's a room in which players are split between two rooms, and one group of players has a very low quality push to talk microphone as well as a camera into the other. The other group had no means to verbally communicate to us, what they were seeing or what feedback they had. Our group of players had significant difficulty in even understanding what we were trying to say to them, as the quality of the audio was so poor. There was no actual critical thinking actually required of the puzzles. The majority of the puzzles in the room required precise timing and were unforgiving; which was an incredibly frustrating given the barriers created to prevent communication. Attempting to tell a player in a different room to stop holding a lever within fractions of a second, via a grainy microphone, is bad. Furthermore, this room is incredibly linear, there are no opportunities for the groups to operate in parallel. Each puzzle is a prerequisite for solving the next. For the vast majority of the experience, one person was watching the screen and holding down the microphone button, one other person was interacting with the puzzle, and our other teammates were standing around doing nothing. This is intentionally reflected in the room's own design, we were given a sheet which listed the order were were supposed to do the puzzles. This escape room is not friendly to those with color blindness or to those with hearing disabilities. Be aware that some puzzles require prior knowledge of certain games and media. The staff is courteous and friendly, and I can't fault them for the rooms that they're managing. The room is itself well decorated, maintaining its theme decently well. But otherwise, Quest Factor has failed spectacularly to make an engaging or interesting experience. I can only recommend to the owners of Quest Factor that they return this room to beta testing and seriously rework how this room is designed. I can only expect their other rooms reflect these same bad design choices that we experienced in this one. I won't be returning to Quest Factor given the experience we shared, and I encourage others to puzzle elsewhere. read more

I came on a Saturday afternoon on June 29, 2019 with friends and family to play the Wizarding Room. Just a heads up this game room is in an area that requires you to pay for parking unless you come on a Sunday. We found the front door and had to push a button to be buzzed in. The service was excellent. 5/5 Our game master was super helpful and friendly. As usual, the game designers put a lot of work into the storyline and the room was beautifully designed and created. Unfortunately, there were certain mechanics/ puzzles in the room that needs to be still fixed. Without any spoilers, some parts of the puzzle it was extremely hard to see the color or the symbols. The light was too small. All 5 of us could not see what needed to be seen. We had to ask the game master to come in to actually help us out. In addition, we got the sequence of code for the levers and we input this several times but we could not get the puzzle to work for us. Again the game master had to come in to help us physically do this. Overall because of these design flaws and how much time is needed to see the clues for puzzles, it basically killed a lot of the time we had. We just made it to the 2nd room when our time was up. This was a bummer because I so wanted my out of town people to see how awesome Quest Factor was. I loved the Redmond and Shoreline Quest Factor Escape rooms. Please have more beta testing to fix these problems at these new exciting rooms at Boren Ave! read more

I tried really hard to like this place. We did the wizard room and I was so excited. The host was really short tempered with us, didn't really give us a back story or start guide for the room. It was a rough start and our group of 4 has done many escape rooms. The concept was great, everything worked as it was suppose to, but the person helping us really ruined it... not to mention we had to wear gloves as their covid restrictions and now my hands are chapped and raw. We've been there twice now and it's been an awesome experience both times. We've done the Space Wars and Jurassic Island escape rooms. Highly recommend doing both. The amount of details they put into the decorations, environment and animatronics is incredible and a wide variety of puzzles to solve. Not just a whole bunch of combo locks like some other escape rooms. Quest Factor has the best escape rooms around! They're very helpful when making reservations and Sean is a good host and photographer. Would recommend Quest Factor escape rooms as gifts to friends and family. read more

I recently played The Wizarding School with 2 others. The staff were polite and helpful, both in and out of the escape room. The decorations and props in the room are superb, and the puzzles are clever and fairly challenging, but not too difficult. We had trouble with one puzzle, but it was entirely my fault for not being more observant. We didn't escape in time, but we are hoping to come back eventually for a second try. This is a great escape room for anyone who is a fan of the Harry Potter books and/or movies. read more

Two of us did the Game of Kings escape room in the Boren Ave location after having so much fun in the Da Vinci room on University Ave. It was somewhat challenging to find the location of the unit (confusing to get there), but we loved it once we were there! We made it out with 13 minutes to spare- it was a perfect balance of logic puzzles and spatial puzzles. With my strengths being more spatial and my partner's being more logical we made a great team! I think this room would be ideal for two to four people ages 16-22. As we are both big Game of Thrones fans it was fun to see the theming similar- I'm not sure it would be worth it for people who haven't seen the show though! Overall completely happy and satisfied with Quest Factor's puzzle quality, helpful hints, and customer service. I couldn't recommend this room and location more! read more
