Very fun escape room! No spoilers We did the magic themed escape. My group has a bunch of first timers and generally not great puzzlers but we still managed to beat the room with 7ish minutes to spare. The room was thematic and our guide kept in character both during the intro and when we asked for hints. There were plentyful problems to keep everyone busy working and nothing was convoluted or too obscure. Highly recommend!

Have been to a few escape rooms in other States and this one close to home in West Seattle was on my list for a while. We booked a slot for 4 if us on a Saturday and went in for Trapped in Space. Finding the entrance to this place was a little bit of a challenge but then thats why you have to report 15mins early! Once we got in we checked in, kept out belongings in lockers and our host walked us through the briefing. We felt this escape room was doable even with lesser folks but it was a smart one! We managed to escape with 12seconds remaining and felt really good! We could ask as many clues and some of the clues were direct helping us progress to the next step. Every minute we were all engaged finding different clues and answers and looking for pointers. All in all we enjoyed our escape room experience here.

    WE ESCAPED!

As a first-time Escape Room-ee, I could not have imagined a better experience! Prior to going into the room, they have an escape wall in the lobby. I'm so thankful for this small set of puzzles since I honestly had no idea what to expect once we were inside! Our group of seven did "Trapped In Space". I won't give away any of the nitty-gritty details, but trust me when I say it was anxiety-inducing (in a good way!), challenging, and full of twists and turns. Plus, we got to wear space suits!! And... WE ESCAPED with only three minutes to spare, after using only two hints. I don't think we could have completed this room without all the wonderful minds we had in there! The staff here is exceptional. They do a fantastic job of setting the mood, getting you in the correct mindset, and making sure you are having fun. I can see why people get addicted to these things. My group and I definitely will go back and try the other two rooms. We're aiming to get on the leaderboard for at least one of the rooms!

Despite how close this place is to me, I never gave it a try before because rooms were public/had a chance of playing with strangers unless you bought all the spots. The silver lining of COVID-19 is that rooms are now private. You to have to wear a mask the entire time. They have masks available if you forget, along with gloves if you want. I played all 4 rooms in the last month (one a week) in this order: - Spell Struck - Dive to Atlantis - The 13th Floor - Trapped in Space These were rooms #32-35 for me. We did each with a group of 3. The first 3 rooms, everyone had at least the same level of escape room experience. The fourth room, we had one person where this was his third escape room ever. Still, I thought 3 was a good group size. The rooms were physically smaller than some other places I've been, but they made great use of the available space. Theming was immersive. You get a victory button if you escape, and the buttons "level up" for additional wins. It's a cute touch! You can also get a Seattle escape room passport here for $10. If you do one room at each participating company, you earn a mug and T-shirt! This is how I'd order the rooms per my level of enjoyment: 1. Spell Struck: I felt it has the best variety of puzzle mechanics. Escaped in 54 minutes. 2. Dive to Atlantis: You're in a shaking submarine! The motion was pretty fun, but you can turn it off if you prefer. Escaped in 50 minutes. 3. Trapped in Space: We found this one to be the hardest because we got stuck a couple times and needed hints. Escaped in 60 minutes, 3 seconds. We were just over the time limit, but counting it as a win! 4. The 13th Floor: This one also has motion for the elevator (that you can turn off if preferred). This one felt like it had more standard locks to solve than the others. I believe they plan to revamp it soon. Escaped in 43 minutes.

Awesome theme, great room decoration, and a solid mix of puzzles that were a nice spread of challenging. THOUGH! I will say, I recommend you take on this room with a group of people you know well/have done an escape room with before (so you know what behavior to expect). I can't imagine trying to do this room with strangers or people who shut down when frustrated. The Facility. I wasn't sure what to expect trucking all the way out to the Georgetown warehouse district, but I was pleasantly surprised! Its clear that having such a large building allows Seattle Escape to build big games with multiple rooms and lots of decor/detail. There is also plenty of space to park, which is a rare and beautiful thing in Seattle. THOUGH---I will say, if you are an out-of-towners/generally nervous about parking in odd places---I recommend booking a room during the day. This is definitely a warehouse district that might look sketchy to anxious individuals. The Staff. We had Maddie as our Game Master, and she was wonderful! She did a great job explaining everything, was patient with us in all the right moments, and was generally a lot of fun. I also LOVED that Seattle Escape had a system set up to digitally tip the game masters! Seattle Escape won a lot of points from me by having a system like this in place to support their staff. All in all, great experience, highly recommend, and my group will definitely be coming back to try out the other rooms soon!

There seems to be an abandoned building across the street that has some odd people hanging around. Be sure to lock your car! There is parking available so that part is nice. If you haven't played an escape room before, they recommend that phones/wallets and etc. Be placed in the locker. Make sure your most "responsible" adult has the key. As they will be the ones to hold it for the duration of the game. The escape room itself was creatively built and just the right amount of challenge. For the price and experience - this place is worth it.

This place is EPIC. Seriously. The game design is top notch, the game guides actually pay attention to you when you're in the rooms so they know what you've done and tried, they don't watch several games at once, and they actually CARE if you had a good time. Prior to them arriving in Seattle my wife and I had done all but one of their games in different cities (DC, Nashville, San Francisco) and were thrilled that they came through with Cosmic Crisis, one we had not done. On top of the rooms and general customer service being top notch - the space is clean. Big props to the Puzzle Break team for allowing us to keep our time as they encountered a same day issue where one of their rooms was damaged. They handled it very professionally and we were still able to keep our time slot so we're thankful to the team. We had 8 people and surprisingly, most of us had something to do the whole time. Everyone had a part to play but some parts we partnered up to accomplish faster. Easily a room you can do with 4-8 people with moderate difficulty, with the more people making it easier. Puzzles were fun, a few challenging ones, but overall pretty linear progression without weird redundancies that can happen with some other escape rooms. This room is great to bring friends who are new to escape rooms as there are still a few surprises (not in the scary sense). Thanks to Puzzle Break for a great time! I didn't book the room so I didn't get the name of the person my friend spoke to but during our experience Neo did the introduction prior to the game and guided us on time when we asked (we only asked for one hint so there was minimal interaction on that part). There are a few rooms to go through and that was fun. They have a lot of lockers (with free locks!) Foe heavy coats/bags, etc. Some of the puzzles are different takes than what you might expect. You have "Alex" with you at all times. Sometimes it is helpful. The bad: The rooms are time gated because the group in the room in front of you has to finish or fail before you can move on. That means sometimes you wait or they give you the equivalent of busywork until the next room opens. It would be better to have optional video filler at that time. They have a lot of video sequences that don't give clues and are too long. If I am trying to figure out a puzzle next to a screen, I don't want to be randomized by a video unrelated to the activity. The rooms are pretty noisy. If you have a listening puzzle it is hard to hear. Parking nearby is spendy. The worst IMO? YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR PICS AT THE END. That really irritated me. It's not a cheap ticket and having an electronic copy of a photo should be part of the package IMO. You can also choose to tip your "Alex" at the end. They aren't the most complicated puzzles especially if you are an experienced puzzler. All of them involve tech which was interesting... The only physical locks were ones on the lockers outside. I think it may be the only escape room we've done where there wasn't a single lock to solve! We solved all the puzzles and made it out.
