What an interesting concept! Everything about Puttery was great and so fun! I love that there's a 21+ age requirement here. The vibe was really grown and classy. There are so many facets to this place...different rooms and sitting areas. We were able to grab a private room a couple of times throughout our stay. The DJ, cocktails and food were all on point! My cocktail choices were the BBQ on a Saturday Night and the Dinner at the Louvre..both were very interesting and elevated. I had the Sausage & Hot Honey Pizza...it was the most interesting pizza I've ever had and would love to have it again. Others in the group ordered a variety of other food items and everything looked good. Oops, I almost forgot to mention that the mini golf was fun too lol! They have multiple courses so the wait shouldn't be too long. In my opinion, Puttery is doing everything well! read more

* came here in August but writing a review now because I forgot to * Wow! I came here for my bday to celebrate. This is an awesome place to celebrate any occasion. It does get super busy so it helps to call ahead or make a reservation. It was pretty easy to find and the ambiance of the place is very modern when you go in. This place is much bigger than it seems. There's multiple bars and places to eat in here! There are also multiple mini golf courses to choose from. The service was great, every thing ran smoothly, and I had a great time. Thank you! read more

I really wanted to love this place but there were a few things that took away two stars... had a reservation, but it doesn't seem to matter when selecting a course. They have three courses: art, conservatory, and illusion - the latter of which was not open when we arrived but opened once we finished and were having drinks at the bar. When we arrived there was a line and took about at least 10 minutes to check-in. Highly recommend a line for reservations, for fast check-in and accommodation to this who planned, and an alternate line for impromptu scheduling. Upon checking in, we were informed the Art course was backed up an hour at which point I was like what's the point of a reservation. I think they need to workout appropriate time blocking and reservations based on desired course - could not indicate at time of booking. We went the path of least resistance and picked conservatory which still has about a 5-10 minute wait but we were on our way. A total of 9 holes with a max of 6 putts concluded in about 30 minutes. Fun but small. Definitely applaud the ambiance and drinks; however, the recommended drink was unavailable due to not having the necessary liquor in stock. We placed our order at the second hole and still didn't have it by the conclusion. Our first round was comped due to the inconvenience and that was nice. Was looking forward to the prickly pear drink but maybe next time... if on a date. Would not come again on my own or with friends unless desperately looking for something to do. The drinks we did get were really good but the first one was small, tasty green ... the green machine was similar but sweeter. We had great service from DeShawn (sp?) and Toni, but all in all the overall experience was just ok. Still need to work the kinks out - just opened ~2 weeks ago. Concept good, but suffers when not properly executed - management. The staff did wonderfully given the circumstances. Give it 6 months... read more

Fun little indoor putt putt place with 3 different themed 9 hole putt putt courses. Has different bars inside with food and drinks, and service was really friendly during our experience today. Will definitely come back to try and beat my scores! Also seems like an excellent place for a big birthday group or work group outing! read more

This review is ONLY based on the golf and drinks. I cannot speak for the food! We did the Illusion and Conservatory. Each course has 9 holes. The Conservatory is just OK. It's mostly fake plants which is a bummer. The Illusion was really cool! We really liked that one. Although it is mini golf, it's definitely not easy! The service was great! The servers are very kind and attentive. As for the drinks, they are good! Each course has a curated menu which is fun. It is mini golf, but they are not mini golf prices so keep that in mind. It was VERY HOT out and we needed to escape the heat so going into Puttery was great for us! The space is pretty huge! My husband and I had a lot of fun just the two of us, but I think it would be great for a group of 5 or 6 too. Note that the wait times can vary, so I'd definitely encourage making a reservation in advance. Looking forward to coming back! read more

When we were dating, my wife took me to Puttery's sluightly older competitor, Swingers, on my birthday (our first date was mini golf, so we've kept the theme going!). When we saw that Puttery had opened with a similar indoor mini golf/bar concept, we knew we wanted to give it a try. We were happy with the experience. (A comparison of Puttery and Swingers is at the end of the review). They have three courses. The themes: Art Museum, Conservatory (I.e. nature gardens), and [optical] illusions. Unfortunately, while you can make reservations to play there, you can't reserve the specific course in advance. We were still able to play our first choice, the Art Museum course. It's a 21+ establishment. A friendly security guard was checking everyone's ID at the door. We checked in with another friendly gentleman at their front desk who directed us to our course. You can order drinks on the course, and each course has a couple of course-specific drinks that are only served there. I got the "Jackson Pollack" (cognac, apple brandy, Cointreau, honey, lemon, egg white, and keychains and agnostura bitters). It was very good, and as a nice touch, they did an artistic sprinkle of the bitters onto the egg white foam in a Jackson Pollack-esque pattern. My wife got the "Dinner at the Louvre" (cognac, black peppercorn syrup, lemon, and champagne). She was almost scared out of ordering it because we didn't know what the black peppercorn syrup would do, but it added a great, subtle complexity to the drink. It was a perfectly crafted cocktail: delicious, well balanced. The art museum course is visually appealing. Plenty of places to take good photos, or to sit for a minute and soak in the vibe. They have funny, playful twists on famous works of art hanging on the walls (e.g., a picture that looks like the girl with the pearl earrings, but with a pearl for a head and the girl's face for earrings... the pearl with the girl earrings!). The course has three main rooms: a classical art room, a modern/pop art room (drawing mostly on Jackson Pollack and Andy Warhol, but with a nod to Lichtenstein and a couple others), and an impressionist room mostly playing off Seurat's Sunday at the Park. The holes are a little short, and you finish the course quickly, so I'd make a point not to rush. But, it's a fun time. The courses all end at a bar/restaurant area. The menu isn't super extensive. While there are a range of appetizers and desserts, main courses are limited to salads and pizzas. We shared the burrata and Serrano pizza. It was pretty good. I also got a "BBQ on a Saturday Night" cocktail (bourbon, honey, smoked peach, lemon, and peach and angostura bitters). Another winner: delightfully Smokey and peachy. Throughout our visit, the service was very good, friendly, timely, and professional. But, they also know you're there to have fun and aren't afraid to add a laid back, personal touch that adds something to the experience. Because you add mini golf, food, and drinks, you can run up a pricey tab here if you're not careful. The mini golf is $22/person. The cocktails, which range from as good as you'll get outside a fancy speakeasy to as good as a fancy speakeasy, and are pretty strong/generously sized are about $16 (+/- a buck depending on what you order). Wines are about $12, and beers are $7 for cans/bottles and $8.50 for drafts. The pizzas are $18-$22 with most $20, but they're sized for two adults to split. Comparing it to Swingers: the big difference is that at Swingers you're in a big, open space without walls. At the course on the lower level, the check in area, all the holes, the dining area and the bar area are all open to each other. That makes it feel airy and gives it some buzz, but at Puttery, everything has its own space. Even the courses each span three rooms. That gives Puttery a more intimate feel. Swingers has more food options, but it's kind of food court style. Puttery has more limited food but has table service. The Puttery courses have more fun themes for those who want a whimsical mini golf experience. While the Puttery holes are fun to play for almost everyone, if you're a mini golf nerd who analyzes the layout of the holes and really cares about the gameplay, Swingers has the better designed holes for the putting. The prices are pretty similar. Mini golf at Puttery is $2/person cheaper. We'll be back to Puttery again. read more

Came here for a date night. The interior is beautifully decorated, very comfortable, and plenty of different spaces to grab food / drinks. MINI GOLF: Cost per person is $22. When you arrive, you can choose from 3 different course themes: illusion, art, or nature. We chose illusion. There was 9 holes, but they were small. Without wait, we completed all 9 holes in probably 10 minutes. It's definitely a fun date idea to add a bit of competition, but I wish the course was longer. After, we walked through all the courses. The art theme is definitely the coolest. COCKTAILS: We ordered two cocktails. Each cocktail was around $16. The cocktails are small in size and they tasted okay. They weren't horrible, but they didn't wow us at all. For the price, we'd definitely skip the cocktails. It is cool though that each course has 2 speciality cocktails that can only be bought on that course. read more

Arrived at 5:15 after a long frustrating day, just trying to find some fun and food for my kids. They wouldn't allow my 11 and 8 year olds to enter. What kind of put put place doesn't allow kids? It shouldn't be deemed a "kid friendly" restaurant as they do not like children here at all. read more

We have been here with a group of kids ranging from ages 8-12 and had a blast both times! The courses are fun and unique, and with just nine holes each it keeps it moving. The electronic scoring also kept the kids in order which was great. Both times we had Alliyah as our waitress and she was phenomenal. The second time, I had a group of 12 pre-teen boys and she rolled out the red carpet. The event was smooth and everyone had a blast! I would highly recommend Puttery for a family outing, birthday party or a date night. Thank you for an amazing 12th birthday party! read more

I was on a fast when I tried this place, so I did not eat. However, I still had an amazing time. Each room is decorated and designed very nicely. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We had a great time visit the Puttery! It's a super great date spot in DC and we will definitely be returning! We didn't get food, but the drinks were amazing and we loved that they matched the theme of each course. Reggie was a GREAT help and he was super nice throughout the evening, so shoutout Reggie! Conceptually it is a millennial/Gen Z Dream. Drinks, activities, and Instagramable decor. Check. Execution is a different story. Made a reservation online for a 4:00 session. Get there, there is an officer at the door and a line that makes it look like a nightclub. Despite having a reservation, one has to wait in a line outside the establishment to check in. There were clearly too many people there at one time. Once I was able to check in, I was told it would take at least another half hour to tee off. Okay, fine. But what's the point of making a reservation at all. Now to the place itself. The vibe gives very trendy oasis initially, but once the novelty wears off, you realize it was a hot mess inside. Staff: there were clearly more bartenders and bar-backs than there were running the rest of the place. There were only 1-2 people to check in. After taking a look around, I walked back up to check my coat. There was no one there. I walk over to the front desk area, there is one person there. I ask here about the coat check and she angrily huffs (I have worked in the service industry so I get it, but you still gotta break out the acting chops in the moment) and checks my coat. There was clearly only 1 guy running drinks/food to multiple areas, and he was putting in Work! It took a minute to get started with games themselves because the rest of the staff we're clearly stretch thin. There was a lot of "I'll be right back" and then they disappear to another part of Puttery Mini-Golf: My date and I chose the Illusion to start. Decor was nice. Gameplay was simple It was okay. There was a big group of at least 8 drunk people ahead of us in the game rotation and it definitely started to back things up. The rest of us were groups of two, so this got annoying real quick. There's already a lot of different people between the different playing areas and the atmosphere can get overwhelming. Again, there's no staff around to properly facilitate anything so, it was what it was. Drinks: had the BBQ on a Saturday morning drink and it was pretty lackluster. Tasted like grapefruit juice with a hint of bourbon. They also have at $25 dollar cocktail. I would never, especially there lol. I think this place definitely needs more staff to service the volume and a tiered entry time, because while the rounds go by quickly, the gameplay should be fairly efficient. If you want mini-golf, I believe there's a reason most people go to Swingers. They need to step their game up if they want to offer any serious competition. read more

Perfect playful date night! We drove from Baltimore on a Friday night and booked a 9:30p session. Grown and sexy atmosphere but also very casual and laidback. The hostess that checked us in was full of energy and gave us the lowdown what the best options were. I wanted to make sure we had time to play and eat before the kitchen closed. She suggested playing first, ordering a drink on the course (the Jackson Pollock drink on the art course was fantastic), then grab a bite to eat. It worked out perfectly! We chose the art course, as recommended by the hostess, and had a ball. Each room is styled with eclectic, visually stimulating decor perfect for selfies and ig masterpieces. The food was on par with nights events. Classic favorites that were filling but not too heavy. I had the beef sliders with fries. Very good. Definitely recommend Puttery DC for date night or girls night! read more

Awesome service, great food - fun for adults and kids. Loved visiting during my trip to DC and Frank was very attentive.

The lay out is really beautiful and the ambiance is fantastic. Now that I got that out the way let's get into the facts. When we first arrived the girl working the front was on her phone and we weren't greeted. Then it was very obvious she was annoyed with her co worker. The staff overall seemed to have really horrible attitudes. Almost like they really didn't want to be there. Customers definitely felt it. We also unfortunately picked a day where a company (Amazon) function was taking place so we didn't have access to the entire venue but was still charged a normal price. The wait times to play were pretty long due to the company also playing in the other rooms. We sat and ordered food which took about 30 minutes. Our waitress Alex was amazing and would really like to recognize her for her commitment to the guest experience by her welcoming friendly attitude and communication. On the complete opposite there was another man there with locks and a silver chain. Complete and total opposite which ruined the night. Overall I wouldn't come here but would go to Swinger's the other venue read more

Here is my experience in a few points: * Very, very yuppie place. Very, very. Essentially the epitome of millennial yuppie. That may be good or bad to you. * The mocktail was so-so: tasted basically like ginger ale with a little mint added in. Not bad, not amazing. * Food was not so great. The server was very good with handling allergy issues and adjusting when the kitchen didn't get it right. But I'd rather just go to a nearby restaurant next time and then come for golf. * The mini golf is honestly not at all worth $22 a person. Maybe half that. The holes are not particularly creative. I'll still give it three stars because we did have fun. read more

Certainly a lot of photo worthy moments from the bar area to the putting courses! The service was great from everyone and the drinks were worth it! You have to try Dinner at the Louvre! We read about Puttery online and it sounded fun, so we booked a tee time for our anniversary. Here's the short version. The decor is fun, but the whole place is wildly overpriced. It's $22 per person for a nine hole course that my wife and I finished in about 15 minutes. Each course has two "specialty" cocktails but, for $17 each, I expected more. Honestly, they were nothing to write home about. Also, as we played, we noticed that a couple of the holes had pieces of the decor that had either broken or simply fallen off of the elements on to the fairway. The place has only been open a couple weeks, so that's not a very good sign. We both love mini-golf, but Puttery didin't really hit any of the notes that makes mini-golf fun. The check-in staff were friendly and attentive but, beyond that, it was a pretty lackluster experience. I can't really recommend it, nor do I see us coming back.
