I came to Legacy Community Health clinic in the gayborhood when it first opened, like about 9 years…read moreago. I wouldn't write a review because everything was bad. Things have changed since then. I remember I had to park on the street and walk about 3 blocks to the clinic. But now, I park in the designated parking lot and walk across the street to the clinic. I used to go to the Dashwood clinic in the Gulfton area. Because my doctor relocated to the Montrose clinic, I followed him. The staff now are more attentive and professional. The check in process is simpler and efficient. Most of services are located in the same building. I recommend this Montrose clinic than any other Legacy Community Health clinics.

I visited Legacy Community Healthcare in Montrose twice for testing and eligibility (I am currently unemployed with zero income). After testing hiv negative the second time, I went downstairs to the Pharmacy at Legacy to see if I could get my Prep or a starter round of 10 pills. I was stopped at the reception desk and told that they do not do it that way here and I had to pay $20.00 to go into the pharmacy. I said that I did not have it since I have only $18.00 in my bank account . I was told to call Gilead pharmaceuticals myself to make sure everything had went through ok and that I would bereceiving my meds by FedEx or picking them up at a pharmacy near where I live For 2 weeks I have called Gilead myself and they have all of my previous records ,but, have received NO information from Legacy Healthcare in Montrose. Gilead has called Legacy with me on the line for a conference call and we continuously get answering machines to leave contact information and they will get back to us. It is going on one month and neither Gilead or I have received any calls from anyone at Legacy Healthcare in Montrose. However, I did receive a text message from Ambetter insurance billing saying that I owe $64.00+ . WHAT? It's been a month and no one has returned any calls to Gilead Pharmaceuticals or me and I have received absolutely NO Prep, and they want me to pay their bill? Gilead has sent me the enrollment form themselves and reached out again to Legacy HC Montrose and has received NO response. Gilead has recommended that I visit another public health department to start the process all over again.

What I don't appreciate is when medical practitioners get offended when you ask questions, or challenge theories when it comes to your own health. It is my body and my life, I think every patient should ask questions and challenge conventional theories. I have a thyroid issue. I am trying to find ways to heal it. I have been seeing Dr. Horsefield for maybe 5 years now, and have noticed passive aggressiveness before... but what I recently experienced is clearly unacceptable. I saw him for my regular annual appointment 3 months ago. My TSH levels were too high, so I got on some thyroid supplements and we retested about 6 weeks later. The results came in and the TSH levels were too low. I have since readjusted my medication and sent him an email politely asking if he could order the bloodwork to retest my levels so I can ensure i am now healthy and found the right balance. His response was callous. I have attached a photo with the passive aggressive response, where he makes it clear that he wont put the test in the system because he doesn't get paid for "answering emails, ordering tests, reviewing tests, communicating test results and maintenance of records" ..... REALLY? Aren't those tasks associated with being a doctor? I would be happy to pay him, for me it isn't about the money at all. In addition, clearly SOMEONE is getting paid when I order these lab tests because I'm charged thousands of dollars for them. All I need though is the bloodwork.... and he doesn't have availability for 2 months!?! I'm extremely disappointed that someone in the healthcare field is so much more concerned about their wallet than their patients health. Also if he wanted to charge me a processing fee that is fine, but his solution is clearly not in my best interest to wait 2 months and potentially do irreversible damage to my body.

But they don't like the feed back on my 2nd review. That just shows my point, they have no conflict management skills. Just make a better effort to communicate better. And I would have gladly updated once I experienced an improvement. This has never happened to me, but I have already found another PCP and didn't plan on going back. Growth is inevitable, whether they took this opportunity to provide better service in this instance or not. It will happen again to another patient. They can stay comfortable, kicking ppl out that are dissatisfied. But that not how you run an effective business or grow. Whoever is in charge should know this.

He prescribed me azythromycin and recommended Robitussin DM and a couple other things. I haven't finished the azythromycin yet, but I was feeling better in only a few days. My mucus switched back from green to clear in no time. I can sleep again. I'm grateful to Dr. Manuel. On my first visit, he spent much more time with me than any other doctor ever has. He got a clear picture of my family's medical history, from which we discussed my possible risks. He followed up with an emailed order for blood work, and which we had also discussed during the visit. He displayed a genuine concern for my overall well-being. I look forward to him being my physician for years and years to come.
