If you only care about getting your issues resolved without the extra stuff she is the one for you. I actually liked her and was going to keep her as my gyn until... After I had seen her several times and they had told me they took my insurance. I got a surprise bill from them. It wasnt too high, so I paid it and didnt ask why, I just thought it was part of my deductible or something. I made an appt some time later and when I got there, after waiting about 30 minutes the lady at the front desk called me over to tell me I had a balance. I told her that it is not possible because I had not been to the DR for several months and I paid the bill they sent me in July. She was all confused and asked me to sit. Fifteen minutes later she calls me again and explains that the problem is that Dr. Nguyen does not take my insurance, the doctor that runs the practice does. I told her I had checked with them several months before and was told she did. Then she went to ask Dr.Nguyen to see what she thought and it seems that she told her that I would have to pay as an uninsured person?? I told her NO. I have insurance and will not pay out of pocket to see her. I was not seen that day and the lady said she would call me back to let me know what they could resolve. She never called me. I called back a week later and was transferred to someone named Stephanie (who supposedly deals with insurance), left her a message and she still hasnt called me back. I am through with this office. I will just find a different gynecologist. I'm still a little pissed that they gave me wrong information but never took responsibility it. Now I'm the one that has to pay (literally) for their mistakes. Gave her two stars because although service sucked Dr. Nguyen's nurse is really sweet and kind of makes up for the Dr's lack of empathy. I really have experienced better.

It was nice to chat with her for a minute about medical history, etc. I only waited about 10 minutes before the nurse called me back, which I really don't consider "waiting" since I was completing paperwork. After my delivery, I had complications and he was there and took the best care possible. I almost died but he saved me. It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend this practice. This practice is located inside The Pavilion for Women at Texas Children's Hospital. He told me he'd call in a courtesy refill to last me until my next appointment in June. I noticed nothing was called into my pharmacy the following day and called to follow up. He told me he wouldn't call in a refill, because I need an appointment and labs first. No in-person appointments are available until June, but he had already made an appointment for me in June. Further, my lab appointment was scheduled for Monday, but I will cancel that because I have not taken my medicine in 3 days, so I don't think my labs will be reliable. I have no idea what this receptionist's background is, but he does not have good judgement and is also not familiar with what it feels like to have hormone fluctuations. I asked him if it's safe to stop the medicine I ran out of cold turkey, but he made no attempt to answer my question with the help of a knowledgeable nurse or medical assistant. As a former medical professional with experience dealing with doctors and their staff for decades, I have never dealt with office staff like this. I believe people like him will continue to be one of the reasons Dr. Hutton loses customers. I will not return to a practice that treats its patients with total disregard. In addition, the office is located upstairs in a tiny strip mall with limited parking. So, if you choose to see Dr. Hutton, give yourself extra time to find parking and walk to her office.

She justified everything as normal, but agreed to prescribe me some heartburn medication since none of the OTC things were working, and mine was so bad that I couldn't even lay down without intense burning. She was empathetic when I ended up with a PUPPS rash, and gave me suggestions of things I could do to ease the discomfort. Since I had a scheduled c-section, she gave me several dates to choose from, which was nice. Postnatal care: This is where I have issues. The MFM had me on baby asprin since week 20, and I'm not sure if there was a lack of communication, but I was never informed that I needed to stop taking it prior to surgery. That being said, I ended up with pretty bad postpartum hemorrhaging that could have been easily avoided. I will say, I do like that she made my incision super low so it's not visible even with bikini-style underwear. She also put "everything" back well, so my abdomen looks defined at times because of how she placed everything. The nurses are the reason I skipped my 6 month postpartum checkup. I don't remember their names, but one of them was super rude to me when I called about my postpartum hemorrhaging. I even remember one of them being sassy when I would call in for questions while I was pregnant. It's also alarming that I skipped the appt, and no one ever called to check up. As bad as this sounds, I still haven't gotten checked out, but I plan on finding a different OB/Gyn and getting a very overdue postpartum check. Nurses make a huge difference in how the patient feels about a practice, and I have to dock off a star because of their service.

Rather than discussing my reasons and helping me understand my options, I felt discouraged from pursuing the ultrasound because my situation was considered "not serious enough." About my health. She not only answered all of my questions with honesty and compassion, she thoroughly talked me through the reasons behind all of her advice. She genuinely empowered me to be an advocate for my health, educating me and validating my own concerns and ideas along the way. I left with a folder full of notes and recommendations on dietary improvements, supplements to take, books to read, and people to see if I wanted more specifics. And just when I wanted to hug her as I left, she hugged me first. Why can't all doctors be like this?! Now to the exam and experience of the clinic: hot tea, soft robes and blankets, even a space heater to keep me warm and cozy. She and her staff really went the extra mile to make it the most comfortable visit to the doctor I've ever heard of. I have spent many thousands of dollars here, and unfortunately, I feel that their priority is all about making money rather than genuinely caring for their patients. Women seeking hormone and menopause care deserve compassion, honesty, and providers who genuinely prioritize their well-being. Instead, I have been left feeling like nothing more than a source of revenue. Women's healthcare should be about improving women's lives, not making patients feel like their health is being held hostage by another payment. I am sharing my experience because I wish someone had warned me before I invested so much time, money, and trust in this clinic. I repeatedly contacted the clinic and made appointments because of the ongoing bleeding and the other symptoms I was experiencing. Each time, I was told that the bleeding was normal. Although I understand that irregular bleeding can occur with Nexplanon, my symptoms became increasingly difficult to manage and began affecting my daily life, my ability to function, and my role as a mother. In addition to the continued bleeding, I have experienced significant mood swings, low energy, lack of motivation and ambition, sharp abdominal pain, headaches and migraines, difficulty sleeping, and frequently feeling cold. I also contacted my primary care provider, who prescribed medication intended to help control the bleeding. Unfortunately, this did not resolve the problem. Today, after dealing with these symptoms for an extended period of time, I reached a point where I could no longer tolerate the situation and contacted the clinic multiple times in the morning. I clearly explained the severity of my symptoms and stated that I needed the Nexplanon immediatly Initially, the receptionist told me that the clinic could not see me. After I continued explaining the severity of the situation, she stated that there was an appointment available around 1:00 p.m. she then recanted Because I was unable to obtain assistance from the clinic, I went to the closest hospital. I was informed there that my OB/GYN would need to remove the implant. I then returned to the clinic and again requested that the Nexplanon be removed. The receptionist eventually contacted the physician. The physician explained that she was the only physician available and was going back and forth between the hospital and the clinic, and therefore could not see me that day. I was again given recommendations for other locations. While I understand that physicians and clinics may have scheduling limitations, I am extremely concerned about how my repeated reports of prolonged bleeding and other symptoms have been handled. I have contacted this clinic multiple times specifically because I was experiencing excessive and persistent bleeding and wanted the implant removed. Despite repeatedly communicating that this was seriously affecting my physical and emotional well-being, I feel that my concern and well were minimized.
