Even if you hate contracts, and loathe inflexibility-- you can still check out "Anytime Fitness" for one that gives you the options of safety, cleanliness, machines, parking and staff that cares about their facility and you as a customer. My go to is Anytime Urbandale -- when you walk in you have to feel comfortable, staff seem to care about your presence and the ebb and flow of the circuit seems a good fit. Urbandale is giving itself a facelift by adding Hunter -- a new trainer and sales representative-- and adding and rotating equipment that works for those who use machines. The spacing of equipment is good, the cleaning inside in various areas has improved and Coach Mike is still there to perk up the place. So shake it off and find that Anytime regiment that works for you!

They quoted one thing, then I received two calls saying they had to repair "extra" things. I originally went in and said it had two problems (the gear shifter not shifting and the back break not functioning). -I went to the store he didn't add my receipt up correct (15.00 extra) -He told me he didn't have the part he quoted me on the phone so he had to install a different one, more expensive, and charged me for it saying "you'll like it better". -He never rode my back to test it When I picked up the bike and got home I noticed the back tire was flat. You would think that a bicycle repair would have tested it by seating on it and riding the last time to check to see if the problem was fixed and noticed that the tire was flat, yet he didn't. When I went in he starting telling me that there was no way he did it. After talking with him he realized he had made a mistake, yet wasn't humble and gave me an apology that he said he "might have taken air out to fit the brake on and forgot later to put air back in" A week later after riding it, the bike still has one of the same two problems that I went in for originally, the gear shifter. If he had ridden the bike just one time after repairing it he would have noticed the gear shifter problem and no air in the tire. He didn't. I was given a quote for $65 for a tune up, and ended up paying $115.00. I could have bought a new bike from Walmart for that price. I will go to a better place that provides exceptional service.

My wife is currently doing Ragbri which is the largest ride across Iowa or any other state I think. She was riding in Stage 3 or a 6 stage all week ride and she had a major de-railer on her bike break. She has a bike from REI she purchased years ago and loves it but she was able to get a hold of the REI in Des moines and they said bring it in. So I drove here 1 1/2 hours from the road ride she was in and Ben and Sam at the store rocked it!!!! They fixed her bike and got her back up going in an hour and she is now back on the road in Stage 4 today. We cannot thank you enough, REI and especially two heroes Ben and Sam. What service and kindness cannot say enough. Hope this gets to them, their store manager and the CEO of REI so you all know how great you folks are!! God Bless and Ride on!!!!! This gym has a decent amount of cardio machines, along with several squat racks (three of em) and a couple of pulley machines. For bench pressing, there's no conventional bench presses, rather, they have racks, where you can place barbell holders at and move over a bench so you have an impromptu bench press. They also have a decent amount of dumbbells. I really liked the crossfit area as they got racks to perform them silly kip pullups along with medicine balls and Olympic plates. They also have a decent padded section where you can do stretches. BATHROOM REVIEW: This is more about the locker room. Pretty decent, with no naked old men walking around air-drying their nether regions. That's great in my book. Sit or squat? Squat.... it's still a locker room :-P
