I thought it would be easier for a local bank that keeps the loans in house. I was putting 20% down and have excellent credit and was told it could close within 30 days. After 45 days and numerous ridiculous requests to me, the appraiser and the title company and changing the loan to me putting down 50%. I was fed up and called Will. Will and Nancy got us approved through underwriting by person and by computer in less than 24 hours. They closed the entire loan in 19 days and by the way we are both self employed.....We got a 30 year fixed, with 20% down and a better interest rate. Having input details of my home into the calculator, I came up with a satisfactory amount that all the more encouraged me to list my house. I called the agency up and had a quick chat with Viktar with whom I set up a meeting the following week. I am so impressed with Classic's follow-through and working through all of the remaining items, including items where an original subcontractor disappeared and they had to pay someone else to come out and finish the item. The first mortgage we shopped around quite a bit to find the best rate and Jen beat them all (at the time she was with a different company that was bought out). A few years later when we wanted to take advantage of the even lower available rates, Bank of America quoted a slightly better rate for a refinance but after a week of trying to get the numbers written clearly on paper and straight answers we had enough and wanted someone we could trust - from then of the refinance process was easy. Our last home purchase was in June and after a quick check of the rates - Jen was able to get us what we wanted and as always made the process easy, transparent, kept good communication, and even though we needed a fast turnaround (during part of which she was on vacation) on a more complicated than normal mortgage - she delivered. They lied about clearing the loan with the four lawyers involved (coop board, sellers, buyers, contracted lender). That pushed the closing date another few weeks. Their lawyer was late to the closing. The original one was on vacation Each loan processor went on vacation consecutively. I had to call between 30-50 times to find out what why my loan wasn't cleared yet. Now I still can't get a straight answer about the servicing of my loan and when I can make my first payment. No one can tell what the delay is and they blame the bank that purchased the loan from them. .
