Both closings went really well, thanks to Andrea Beddingfield, who did the closing. FOUR MONTHS after our refi, Eric Nesheim, the attorney for Title One, called to tell me that due to an error on his part, he had shorted our cash-out by $10,000! This was only discovered by an internal audit. He also let it slip that the audit had found a similar error in another client's settlement. I asked Mr. Nesheim to reimburse me for the interest I had paid for the four months that I did not have the $10,000. He replied that it was my fault for not noticing the discrepancy and that he didn't see "how that could work." He was very curt and not at all apologetic about making the error. I admit that I was an idiot for not noticing the error, but between the refi, the new purchase and getting it fixed up to rent, I missed it. And, of course, I thought I was dealing with an honorable company.

After 45 days and numerous ridiculous requests to me, the appraiser and the title company and changing the loan to me putting down 50%. I was fed up and called Will. Will and Nancy got us approved through underwriting by person and by computer in less than 24 hours. They closed the entire loan in 19 days and by the way we are both self employed.....We got a 30 year fixed, with 20% down and a better interest rate. Will Jacobs and his wife Nancy did a GREAT JOB and gave us a better loan. I wanted to try to support the local community but obviously that didn't work out. The weekly morning visit by the garbage truck no longer wakes me, which is both a good and bad thing, given my employer's insistence that I show up at work in a timely manner on Mondays. Peter also installed "shade inserts" in my master bedroom's western-exposure wall of windows. On days such as today, where we hit 92 degrees, the inserts have made a noticeable reduction on my HVAC's demand. I suspect there will be a cost savings in cooling, but it's too soon to tell. More importantly, when I retire for the night, the bedroom is a normal, comfortable temperature, instead of the sweat box that I had before.
