Right off the beach, good little place for a drink. Bar food in my opinion but we were there at lunch time. We tried a lemon drop martini then switched to the bucket. The lobster rangoons didn't taste like lobster, but a good Rangoon. Would I go back? If I was on the beach and needed a drink. If I wanted a good dinner? Probably not.

This restaurant is right on the boardwalk, super easy and convenient. The stairs up to the restaurant are pretty steep so maybe challenging for some. We were a group of 7, had a late lunch and were seated immediately. Our server was attentive and made sure our food and drink orders were correct!! It's basic beach bar vibes, causal dress while sitting across from the ocean. The oysters I had were fresh and not too salty. The salads were delicious and pretzel bites were worth it!!

Nice spot for a drink or lunch; view of the ocean. Quick service, lots of tables. Looks popular for family and groups. Drinks are good but some are pricey.

I admit that my visit was a tad interesting deeming my mood for food was maybe off however I sat at the bar, requesting a water then opted for coffee & wings. Service was surprisingly fast, efficient & they adjusted the things I needed for my coffee & water including ice for my coffee & tap water & just wings being simple they got it right as well. Atmosphere has livery music especially being in a beach area which you can get anyway. Overall got their game right.

In short, over priced and under seasoned. Save your money and go to JB's across the street. Only 3 gluten free options Small portions, bland flavors Took almost 30 minutes for this 1 item and half of this is premade...

This Purple Urchin offers unbeatable views of the beach, Ocean Boulevard, and the bandstand, perfect for a relaxing meal after a day at the beach. The wait staff were both friendly and efficient, contributing to a pleasant overall dining experience. The food was a highlight. We had the swordfish, which was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with coconut rice and a flavorful mango sauce. The baked haddock was also excellent, tender and flaky with just the right amount of crispy breadcrumbs. A fantastic dining experience from start to finish; we'll definitely be back next time we visit Hampton Beach!

Stopped in for lunch on the 4th of July. Our server Michelle was a delight. The food was good both my wife and I were satisfied. I had a drink that came in bucket (hahaha), it was very good. The oysters were on the smaller side or I'd have given them 5 stars.

Was in Hampton Beach for a short period of time. We wanted to grab a quick bite to eat & came across this place. They had a happy hour sign right at the bottom of the stairway and although it was literally 5 minutes before Happy Hour pricing ended, they were kind enough to quickly seat us and allow us to quickly order something from the Happy Hour menu. We ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp and Wings. The shrimp were so good and the wings were friend to perfection. We also had an almaretto sour which was really good considering the bartender had never made it before looked up the receipe to follow. This place also has a great view of the beach which was a plus.

The view is nice, but the food and service are terrible. The only reason this place is in business is because of the location.

The Tteokbokki was hands-down, the saltiest thing I've ever ordered at a restaurant in my entire life. Flavor profile was 100% off the sauce genuinely tasted like Play-Doh. The teriyaki chicken bowl wasn't much better whatever sauces y'all are using are horrendously bad. More salt doesn't equate the more flavor. Hope this helps.

It's relatively small (only about ten seats) and at the time, only two people were working. It took a little bit for the food to come out (my dad was able to go order a coffee at Coffee Break Cafe next door and bring it back before our orders came out) but the portions were perfect for our lunch and my dad really enjoyed his! The noodles are dropped off on the bar for you to pick up and you grab your own chopsticks as well. We ordered the Chili Ramen (tonkotsu with chili oil on top) and the Shoyu Ramen, both with pork as the protein. The cook on the egg was great (nice and gooey in the center and the white was nice and soft) but it was a little cold and lacked flavor (could've been marinated for longer?). The pork was a nice cut of meat but despite being blowtorched it was a little chewy and lacked a bit of flavor also. The lack of marination on these toppings was helped by the fact that the broth was great and flavorful and if you ate them with the broth and noodles, it was satisfying! I think the broth was the best part; I tried both of them and enjoyed drinking the broth by itself even without eating the noodles with it. Overall, I thought the ramen was OK (the soup was the best part!) but for the price and portion I think this is a nice place to stop by for lunch! My dad enjoyed it a lot and was impressed by the authenticity for an American establishment.

Our drink orders were taken right away but after the drink orders service was a little slow. The waitress explained they were short staffed. I take no stars off for this. Short staff is a common issue including my place of business. Our waitress was very friendly and really good with the children in our party. I really liked the variety on the menu. There were affordable options with some higher priced dinners. There was an option for everyone in our party. I had the stuffed haddock covered with a seafood stew. I'm a little bit of a snob when it comes to seafood stuffing so I was a little hesitant to try it but OH BOY am I glad I did. The stuffing and stew were amazing! No leftovers for me. The rest of our party had various options off the menu and all of us were please with our meals. I highly recommend The Old Salt. A nice ambience. Friendly service. Great food. So on our way home we trekked down 1A to Rye, NH looking for this place. Well worth the stop, easy to place order and wait was minimal. Got the fluffy chowder and hot buttered lobster roll. The chowder was outstanding with good amount of lobster meat mixed in with the clams. It was hot, thick & creamy, the roll was also outstanding and every bit as good as advertised, loaded with lobster meat. It's definitely a repeat visit if ever back in the area.

I was a bit nervous heading in 30 min before close. I felt like the soup was a really good value, for taste and quality. I'm partial to soup, and preferred the Fluffy Chowder, as it was less sweet than the bisque, bringing together the best of both worlds. The grilled cheese was very good, chunks of lobster with the right amount of cheese to hold it all together on bread that was perfectly toasted to support what was about to go down. It came with a smaller portion of soup for dipping. Would definitely go back!
