Blew all expectations out of the water. Simply put, an incredible menu, prepared so exquisitely that the experience becomes a standard for what "good" actually is.

Loved the ambiance. All of our food was amazing, our favorite bite was the mushroom toast which was recommended by our server. It was phenomenal!! So rich and we ate every bite. Drinks were pretty good. Would've loved to try more dishes!

They have their own farm!!! Top notch culinary experience not to be missed. Tranquil house in lovely Rye NH serves sophisticated modern American fare: Ate: Tomatoes with cucumber & avocados Roasted peppers with anchovies Jonah crabs Linguine with truffles Short ribs Swordfish with asparagus Baked Alaska with sour cherries This meal was a total knockout !!! Wow!!

10/10 wonderful. Quaint location, super friendly staff, and food that kicked off our east coast vacation in the best way. It's right across the street from a beach + was beautiful scenery for dinner. All of the food was good but our favorite was the sweet corn tart

Wow wow wow! Came here for our anniversary and boy are we glad we did. The parking was pretty good and the weather was horrible due to the fact that it was raining hard and no sun or moon but that didn't stop us from making our reservations on this spot. Once parked and walked inside we were greeted and seated for our reservations. We started off with raw oysters from all over the east coast and a coupe of shrimps. Next we had this olive dish that was stuff with meat. Each olive had meat inside and was fried to perfection. For our entrees, I order the Duck Confit Gratin and it was very good. The Duck was moist and not dry and everything went well with the dish. My other half ordered the Gulf of Maine Fluke and I'm not a fish eater unless it's raw but I gave it a try and it tasted good. For dessert I ordered the Fennel Almond Torte and it consists of mascarpone ice cream, candied fennel, crème anglaise, almond crumble. It was amazing and I wanted more but was too full. I highly recommend this place for an anniversary dinner or a romantic dinner.

We have not been to the Carriage House for many years, and it is under new ownership and remodeled. We tried them out during restaurant week and were delighted with the food, service and atmosphere. Years ago we found the restaurant to be dark and the food only average. Happy to say that has all changed for the better! The restaurant week menu offered 3 courses, with a large selection of choices, which all sounded great, it was hard to choose! They do offer parker house rolls as well, these are offered for an additional $5, and so glad we tried them. Four big, hot delicious rolls were presented. Portions were very large, in fact our waitress made a point to tell us that they serve full size portions for restaurant week. We don't typically order three courses each, and often will share an appetizer and dessert, so we found ourselves only able to eat a portion of each course. Yes, there was an abundance of food! Cocktails were great, our server was friendly and overall we found service from the kitchen to be good. We did notice a small lull between our appetizer and mains, but they were busy. The short rib entree was delicious, a big piece of melt in your mouth beef, beautifully presented. Both the bread pudding and chocolate budino for dessert were also quite good. We will be back to work our way deeper into the menu. I'm glad we gave them a try for restaurant week!

Serving some of the best food on the NH Seacoast the carriage house is a great restaurant. Very unique menu. Ambiance is cozy. The pasta dishes were delicious with large portions. Plenty of seafood options. A must try.

What an amazing meal we had tonight at The Carriage House. RJ provided superb service and the appetizers (Oysters Rockefeller and Mushroom Toast) and entrees (Lobster Gnocchi and Flounder) were exquisitely prepared and presented. The view from table 205 looked out to the ocean, a perfect New England evening.

Spritz (did not like but pretty color)

What a lovely restaurant. Just for a tip if you find the apothecary it's down the stairs right…read moreafter it. We did have a little bit of trouble finding it but that was kind of fun. Reservations recommended we were seated at a beautiful table for two right near the bar and started off with a Pinot noir and a cabernet. Both wines were delightful. For appetizers we had the braised lamb crepe and the octopus... Both dishes were delicious, presented well with sauces to die for. Followed by the pasta dish and the duck. These were the best dinners of the year for us. The blending of flavors were fantastic and it was augmented by the owner coming over and talking to us about how the food was prepared. I won't bore you with all the details but the octopus is slow boiled for 5 hours.. complete with wine. Corks it was tender and delicious with the Mediterranean flair. We go out to eat our fair share from high end to diners anywhere. The food is well prepared and delicious... This was the top for the year! From the service to the presentation to the wine to the ambiance, everything is top notch here. I will provide a warning. You will drop a pretty penny if you partake in all the courses, but we thought it was well worth it. Thank you to the staff and ownership. We enjoyed our evening.. a true date night.

So, we finally got to try the chef's table, or "Chef's Whim" as it's officially titled. Eight…read morecourses. In addition to the food, we added the suggested alcohol pairings. I say alcohol because it wasn't all wine but ... since it's a bit of a surprise in terms of what actually appears I'll just leave it at that. However, as to the food ... I'll give a taste, a flavor, a wisp of a whisper of the full culinary adventure. For complete details, see your local sous chef! Here's what we had. In the middle of my photo collage, a blood sausage slider with fennel/jalapeño sauce on toasted brioche bun. Then clockwise from top left - cornbread with maple glaze in a Barbie sized personal cast iron skillet; beet salad with goat cheese half spheres; a dessert tray of black apple cake with hay ice cream (yes, seriously), chamomile pot de creme and a duck fat beignet; an assortment of ice creams - fenugreek, fennel/maitake mushroom/burnt hazelnut (all tasted fabulous and in each you could taste the listed flavors); entree of duck and wild mushroom tart; white bean soup and finally a pasta dish of ravioli with two fillings. Just a note on what it would take to make it yourself. See that hexagonal white blob on the bottom row, middle pic? That's a potato foam. Forgive me for not recalling the full procedure but the prep is roughly 7 hours long. First, the cut potatoes are cooked in a sous vide for 2 hours so that no moisture is added to them. Then a succession of ricing, smoking, drying, undrying, mashing, placing in a foam machine that looked like a whipped cream dispenser and boom - a tiny dollop of potato. It tasted great. But man - that's a lot of effort for a mouthful of potato. I don't think I'll be trying it at home. Over two hours of eating and chatting. I brought a couple of my restaurant-based cartoons as my personal thanks for the meal and was shocked that Justin, their sommelier, had done a cartoon of his own ahead of time for me! Just stick to wine, Justin - I don't need any MORE competition with my magazine editors ... With Dylan ably providing the primary chef duties and Amaya and Justin handling the booze, the meal was a smashing success. The food pairings were masterfully chosen and timing of the dishes meant we were always primed for the next one. Although the succession of what I'd call dessert dishes made me start to feel like a Hobbit enjoying dessert, second dessert and then post seconds. As Anton Ego said in Ratatouille (and they have a cute Reme rat under glass on a shelf) "I shall be returning, hungry for more."

The seating was choose a table, so we selected one in the corner. Our server brought out menus, and a water bowl for Toby. My mom ordered a burger - which was cooked perfectly to the temp specified (medium), that she enjoyed, she selected the homemade chips as her side (yum!) I ordered the french dip which was on the specials menu - it, and the au jus that came with it were delicious! You can select a side that you want - I went with Mac and cheese, which was delightful (a lot of food though, so took most of the Mac home). I really liked that this restaurant was casual, had a relaxed feel, and our server was great. Also thrilled that they welcomed our dog with zero fuss.

I was just here recently on 06/15/2024 with friends & family. It was such a beautiful day out (finally!!) & they were packed/busy. They had a grill outside that they were grilling up some burgers that smelt amazing. They have a little outside patio that is covered & one that is open. We were told our wait would be 20 minutes but it seemed that we ended up getting seated in less than 20. One negative thing about this place is that they only have 1 bathroom which is unisex so the wait to use the bathroom can be long & there really isn't a good place to stand in line for it. As the kitchen door is right there & then there is a table up against the wall where customers sit. I felt like I was in everyone's way while waiting to use the bathroom....lol There was 7 of us total but only 4 of us showed up first & we were seated outside under the covered patio. Our table wasn't big enough for 7 & the waitress actually asked the 3 girls at the big table next to us if they wouldn't mind switching with us & they had no problem in doing so, luckily they had just drinks & had just placed a food order so it was an easy switch for everyone.....thank you girls!! This did confuse the waitress a little bit once the other 3 showed up when she brought our drinks out to the 4 of us. This visit I got the grilled chicken club which I thought the menu said it was fried but apparently it is grilled which ended up being great because the sandwich was delicious. The chicken was nice & moist. I did omit the cheese & asked for my bacon on the side. Good thing I looked @ my receipt because when our waitress Jess put the order in, the register automictically charged me for "a side of bacon" when the bacon comes on the sandwich, it was an easy fix for her. I also got their homemade potato chips with a horseradish dip which wasn't too spicy. I've gotten their chips in the past, always a hit. Other food items I've had in the past have been their mac & cheese, chicken & lemongrass potstickers, pretzel bites with beer cheese & chicken fingers. Everything has been tasty so far. Jess was an amazing waitress. We didn't wait long for her to take our order, bring our drinks & check on us after we tasted our food. Surprisingly as busy as it was on KBP we didn't wait long @ all for our food. She was able to get all the checks separated as asked for and was very nice & friendly, thank you Jess!! Funny cause for some reason I thought her name was Ashley but my receipt says "Jess H." My friend's & I that I was with, we all know the owners and go way back with them from when they owned another business apx 30yrs ago that we use to venture to frequently. My sister-in-law also knows the owners too. So it's always nice to get to see them & say hello when we stop in. They're great people & definitely do a great job running this place! Keep up the great work guys!! As always, its nice seeing ya! Thank you!
