I cannot praise this lovely old inn enough. My partner and I stayed for a week and had a wonderful time. The hosts made amazing breakfasts every morning and even surprised us with a cake during our stay in celebration of our 10th anniversary. The room we stayed in was beautiful and the bed was huge and extremely comfortable. The house is full of interesting history. The hosts gave us excellent restaurant advice too. Forget about going to the chain hotels. The Purple Sage Inn is a "must stay". The house is so charming and comfortable. We had a gorgeous room with a sitting room. What a great experience my wife and I had here. The hosts were great. We had a beautiful room and a comfy bed. The Inn is meticulously maintained, Uber clean, and you can tell the hosts have figured out what details are important. The highlight of the two day stay was the delicious and hearty breakfasts that sustained us on our travels. The trip to the North side of the Grand Canyon is a beautiful drive. After our wonderful breakfast, we drove there, walked around for hours and came home at dusk without ever getting hungry. Fast internet as well, but we just enjoyed sitting outside and talking. This place was incredible. The owners were sweet as pie and live between the house and the guest house in the back. They wake up early and make delicious breakfast such as candied French Toast with fresh fruit and bacon. The kitchen was well stocked with bottled water and juices, fruit, pastries, and snacks for us. The house itself was immaculately clean. There were no dust bunnies anywhere and no mold/mildew in the bathrooms. Everything was quaintly decorated and perfect. Many aspects of the house were old. The wooden floor was in good condition but creaky. The toilet was vintage. There were countless antiques throughout the rooms. It all felt very warm and special. We could open the windows for fresh air or control our own heating and air conditioning. The water pressure was on pointe. The first night we stayed at the Purple Sage Inn we were the only guests and we were given a choice of rooms. The second night had two other couples. We couldn't hear them when we were sleeping but we enjoyed their company at breakfast around the large dining room table. The owners were excellent about answering the phone when I had questions. For example, they allowed us to leave our rental car out front for four days while we hiked in the Grand Canyon. read more

I might have forgotten to mention to my husband that the Purple Sage Inn is a bed & breakfast. Imagine his surprise when we pulled up!! After meeting Kathy & touring the home he actually asked me to book a room for our return trip he was so impressed. Everything was wonderful!! Kathy has such a talent for being helpful but giving you privacy as well. The breakfast is fabulous. Kathy & Jill do a wonderful job. There is a HUGE garden on premises and they utilize a lot of the bounty in the meal. There was fresh jam made from fruit from a tree on site. The presentation is lovely as well. We dined outside with a lovely view. If you want to take your trip from ordinary to memorable, the Purple Sage Inn should be on your itinerary. read more

Wow what a pleasant surprise. The outside is so serene and peaceful. The gardens are amazing. However when you step inside it is truly remarkable. It is like stepping back into the late 1800's so many antiques in great shape each room is remarkable in itself. The host Torrey and Cathy are the nicest people. The breakfast was really good. One of the best places I've ever stayed in recent memory. I came here during the July 4th weekend to see Zion National Park. I didn't want to take a day off from work, so the girlfriend and I drove up here after work that Friday. We didn't get there until after midnight (forgot about the change in time between Arizona and Utah) and we felt terrible making Kathy wait, but she was still very gracious and a total sweetheart! I really can't say enough about the hostess - she was very helpful and offered so much advice about things to do in the area. Furthermore, her daily breakfasts were amazing! She made a different variation of eggs every morning, along with bacon, potatoes, yogurt, fruits, and homemade jam. As for the house itself, it has that old-world charm. It was built in the 1800's but is very tastefully remodeled. Rooms were clean, and the bedding was changed everyday. Before booking, I was a little wary of the glowing reviews (all but one 5-star review between Yelp and Tripadvisor), but now I know why! If you plan on staying anywhere near southern Utah, don't even think twice about staying here and book already. You'll be glad that you did. read more

We spent last night at the Purple Sage Inn. What a great experience! Nice people, pleasant company, and an amazing Bed & Breakfast property - clean, orderly, authentic, and a lot of history. We were able to tour the property and all the different rooms. Each is unique. The house has several pictures hung up of 'before and after' the restoration. The transformation is remarkable. We awoke this morning to an absolutely gorgeous day and had breakfast outside. The view and the property is amazing. The food was excellent with many items on the menu coming from the garden only a few feet away from where we sat. The local church bells chimed as we went outside and I was reminded of the town where I grew up when the bells at the college a few blocks away would chime at night (We heard the bells the first time around 8 AM and did not hear them at night, just in case you're a light sleeper and worried about it). International visitors will enjoy the ambience of the house as well as the beauty of Kanab. It has the best of the old west and the beauty of Southern Utah combined. Just got back from a wonderful trip to Kanab, UT. Stayed at the nicest bed and breakfast. The house is run by just the best people ever! They immediately made my wife and I feel at home and treated like old friends. We will definitely make a point of coming back! The house is over 125 years old yet, modernized with all the modern conveniences. WiFi included. This B&B is loaded with the most interesting and wonderful items. You will want to spend some time absorbing all the history of the house. So much history packed into a wonderful home. Breakfast was fabulous! Fresh fruits in season. We actually had pineapple that was better than what we had in Hawaii. Wonderful toast made from artisan bread, a delicious egg dish, yogurt with granola, yummy potatoes, tomato and avocado side dish and the freshest coffee ever! Do not miss out! Gotta stay here! On tripadvisor there is only one review of less than five stars and if you visit here you will agree. It's just like staying with a friend who wants nothing but to pamper you! I don't know how you could find anything negative unless you are congenitally allergic to the B&B experience. It is a home--not a hotel, but so much nicer and more enjoyable. It was just a great pleasure. Cathy has countless Victorian era treasure spread around the house. Tory keeps the beautiful grounds immaculate. I forgot the name of their housekeeper but she keeps everything spotless. Kanab it just a 15 minute detour from the route from L.V. to the G.C. North Rim. Or a 20 minute detour from the route between Zion and Bryce Canyon and on the route between Zion or Bryce and the G.C.N.R. Kanab is a stopover on these routes and it has a fabulous casual restaurant that has super great food--the Rockin V Café which is a 5 minute easy stroll just around the corner--no drinking and driving! See my review of the Rockin V, also google their website. So if you are traveling between any of these national parks or between L.V. and either Bryce or the G.C.N.R, the Purple Sage makes a great stop on your trip. If you aren't able to get reservations at the North Rim, check out availability at the Purple Sage, it a bit less than two hours away. Also, with the Coral Pink Sands Sate Park just a dozen or so miles away, you might consider it as a short stop or a bit longer for some hiking. We really enjoyed our stay. So glad I was able to cancel my reservation at a local motel when I found this wonderful B&B. We've stayed at many B&Bs but can't remember any being nearly this great. read more

This is nothing but the absolute, most amazing Bed and Breakfast in the world. If you happen to visit Kanab, or just stop for one night, you have got to stay here. It is a spotless and beautiful Victorian house with approximately 6 rooms for guests. Extremely clean, great bath products, impeccable conditions, very 1800's Victorian decor and a great environment. There is breakfast served at 8am every morning. I'm talking about a wonderful, home-made breakfast that is delicious. You will not want to leave, ever! My wife and I only stayed here one night, but since we did not have a lot to do that particular day of our traveling vacation we did spend a fair amount of time talking with the owners and a couple of the other guests staying there. Everyone had unique and interesting stories, some about Kanab and its history and some about different vacation spots. Ended up being a very memorable stay and the house itself is really full of history and our room had a very comfortable bed. I stayed at the Purple Sage Inn last month when I was visiting Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. The inn is really pretty and located on a quiet street. Kathy was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. Wow, where to start... Kathy is the best. She was very helpful and patient with us as we were driving into Kanab through the mountains and spotty cell service. As we arrived, she greeted us kindly and from that moment on was so hospitable. She gave us a great tour and history lesson of the house and land, has a fridge and pantry full of almost anything you could want to snack on, makes the most amazing, full course, delicious, healthy breakfast, and waits on you hand and foot. Its like staying at your grand moms house on the best day but maybe a little better. Internet is available although you'll hardly want to use it. The house is old and beautifully restored. There are antiques from the area everywhere. Everything was spotless clean. Expensive soaps and shampoos are awaiting you. The master bedroom is worth the little extra. It was huge. The bathroom was huge. Monster sized tub and shower. You will also get your own patio. There is a big parking lot in the back. A little cat will greet you if you walk around the house by the name of Pretty Girl. She is nice and not a bother. Also not allowed indoors. Kathy treats you like you're family. Like a southern hospitality in the Mid West Mountains. Cant really say enough about this place except that if you don't stay here, you're making a mistake. It was one of the highlights of my cross country trip and by far the nicest place i have ever stayed. read more
