Great location for your stay in Kanab. Right in the heart of town. Walking distance to everything. Pool is perfect, rooms are basic and perfect for a stay in a place where your time will be spent outdoors. The staff is awesome... from the front desk to housekeeping. Onsite breakfast is great for confidence. Would recommend eating here over most places in town for sure. I will be back soon!

The Dining Room is incredible! I've not stayed at the hotel as I am a local, so this review is only for the restaurant. This is some of the best food I have ever had in town. Portions were generous, but quality was not skimped on either. Their meats are sourced locally, and their flavors are five star restaurant quality. On top of that, their prices were reasonable, plus locals discount! I had the cider brined pork chop with pumpkin and squash risotto and my husband had the New York strip with espresso and white cheddar grits. We started with the bison carpaccio. Everything was SCRUMPTIOUS! The chef is an artist. ‍ My only feedback is I would love to see them improve on the ambiance and decor in the dining room. This food deserves to be eaten in someplace chic and romantic!

Stopped in Parry Lodge for breakfast! They have a breakfast buffet. But let me tell you this hotel is amazing. It is historic and it is beautiful as well. It is great to see all the famous people from the past to have visited this hotel and stayed there as well. The hotel is well-kept and in beautiful pristine condition. The breakfast buffet was out of this world food was delicious and extremely fresh we will definitely be coming back when in town

Perfectly delicious Cornish hen over real mashed potatoes with a light mushroom sauce.

I was also hoping to "rent" a pet from the Animal Sanctuary for the duration of our visit, but alas, checked in too late for that. I'd advise anyone who wants to "rent" a pet to call in advance to understand the process and time cut-off. I loved the room. It was super cute and well-appointed for guests with pets. There were two bowls waiting near the front door, and two adorable sleeping areas - one in a cut-out in the wall, and another a pull-out trundle-style bed. The mercantile/ store was stocked with cute apparel for pet-lovers as well as items for pets. Breakfast was also served in the store in the morning - with lots of interesting and yummy options - like vegan egg bites and chia seed pudding. 10/10 recommend this place!!

The Best Place For Travelers With Or Without Pets…read more.... For our final 5 nights across the Southwest US, we stayed at the Best Friends Roadhouse. The BF Animal Sanctuary was on our schedule (at least 2 of the 4 days) and both reviews and their website looked great. Pros: - Location: Convenient, especially is you're visiting the Sanctuary. On the main road in the north part of Kanab. - Exterior: A newish looking hotel with nice views to the north and west. - Room: Excellent. Our king suite was spacious. One VERY large room included a big bedroom, a good sized kitchen and a spacious bathroom/shower/vanity. It also had plenty of space for storage and large closets. All done with contemporary Scandinavian furniture which minimizes clutter and convenient controls for lighting, ventilation and automatic shades. - Employees: Helpful. People at the reception desk and in the breakfast area/"Mercantile Shop" were all very friendly. - Breakfast: Vegan and very good. Included with the room. While it wasn't a buffet, you could order as much as you'd like. Much of it was homemade and I especially liked the "Overnight Oats". Unusual Pros: - Cats and dogs are encouraged to stay with accommodations in the room and across the property - "Barn Door" to create privacy between the bedroom and bathroom - Free laundry - Free iPad to use while in the room - Nicely equipped kitchen - Plentiful towels - Choice of full daily housekeeping, partial or none - Attractive high desert landscaping - If you'd like merchandise from Best Friends, the Mercantile Shop had everything Cons: - Bath towels for our first day were luxurious. The next 4 days were like a Holiday Inn. - Toilet paper was 1...maybe 2 ply and quite scratchy - Tissues were a bit rough - Parking was tight, especially on weekends and after 7 PM There are many places to stay in Kanab since it's a busy stop for Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, but the Roadhouse would be our only choice.

We drove 4 hours from Las Vegas and booked through Super.com. I'm a Choice Hotels member and was hesitant about Choice properties to begin with -- I usually stick to IHG, Hilton or Marriott -- but a great experience at the Comfort Suites Moab a year ago gave me confidence. The 4.5 stars on Yelp sealed the deal. Big mistake. The phone call before arrival -- called to notify them of a late arrival and the front desk lady answered with a flat "Hello," never pulled up my reservation, couldn't add my Choice Rewards number since I booked third party which is fine, but when I was done with my questions she said "bye" and hung up cold. I work in hospitality. That's not okay. Check in -- the overnight guy in a fedora was genuinely great. Friendly, fast, no complaints. Wish the rest of the staff had his energy at check in. The room -- rock hard queen beds, square couch-style pillows with zero support swimming inside oversized pillowcases, and a pull out sofa mattress with serious visible wear. All four of us on the queen beds woke up with back and neck aches and had to make a grocery run for pain meds before we could function. Breakfast -- both mornings were identical. Cold eggs, rubbery sausage patties, broken juice machine on day two. The make your own waffle station was the only thing worth touching. This is what your $5/night resort fee gets you. The afternoon front desk lady -- sat behind the desk on her personal phone both times we walked through without a single acknowledgment. Asked to switch rooms due to the beds -- flat "No," sold out, zero apology. Later came back from a bike ride with a potentially broken arm and asked where the nearest hospital was -- she pointed without looking up and went back to her phone. My friends had to connect to the hotel WiFi just to pull up directions since T-Mobile is spotty in Kanab. Ended up with a broken forearm and wrist. Now in a cast and sling. I don't expect a front desk employee to be a first responder but basic human decency isn't too much to ask. The A/C -- stopped working at 2am. Called the front desk and the overnight guy answered in silence with his phone playing in the background. After I said hello he responded with attitude. Told him the A/C was out in room 105 and he literally asked me "what should I do?" Requested a room switch, he said sold out and hung up. Five guys trying to sleep in a heatwave with no air conditioning. Pool area -- advertised as open year round and heated. Pool was covered. Spa was open but the gate to the entire area had no lock -- anyone could walk right in. Real safety concern for families with kids. At $146.24 for two nights the price seemed reasonable on paper. In reality this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. The area is 5 stars -- this property is not. Stay elsewhere.

The eggs weren't great. But the waffles hit hard. -Plenty of towels, soft sheets, and a decent lounge area. -nice elevators A few downsides: - breakfast doesn't open until 6:30am. If you want to utilize the buffet before a day of hiking, don't anticipate an early start. -the black out curtains don't fully shut. Pesky street lights shined in. -creep in the parking lot made it feel a little sketch.

Adding to this nostalgic atmosphere is Kathy, the host, who provides meaning and memories for everything in the home. If you are ever in Kanab, a stay at the Inn is a must. Kathy's attention to her guests enhances the pleasure of staying at the inn. Her attention to detail is boundless. The coziness of the bed and bedding, along with her thoughtful care of her guests, does not go unnoticed. And, of course, one cannot compliment her breakfasts enough. Delicious fruit, beautifully displayed, fresh juice of your choice, and mouthwatering entrées are all part of the experience. If you don't already have plans, Kathy will help you with her ideas, resourcefulness, maps, and brochures. Her husband, Tory, available when he can be, is also a gracious host and tends the bountiful garden that supplies much of Kathy's cooking.
