Specially ordered, fireside cookies for our running group.

Travis & Nor (Ron) took the best care of our tired running legs by have having the cool, pool ready each day for us! The rooms were just the right size for all of our gear, comfortable & cozy. And when five ravenous gals were craving chocolate chip cookies fireside, Nor jumped to the challenge & called his "cookie people" to make it happen. Will be back. Good people.

SO clean. Seriously the cleanest place we've ever stayed. This property is clearly loved and well maintained. Ron at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. WiFi was strong and worked well. I love the individual room entrances, and we appreciated the small touches like the welcome card on our bed, a porch chair near each door, availability of bicycles, etc. We could not have been more pleased. Personally, this was my first time staying here, but several months ago my husband stayed here with two of his friends; he said it was a great experience at that time as well. We will definitely recommend this place, and are considering bringing a group of 12 back next year. Thank you for a great experience!

Canyons Lodge is a funky, cozy spot right in Kanab that is a must do if you are looking for a good place to stay. We were only in town one night, but we were very glad to have a clean, comfortable night at the lodge. Aside from the nice room amenities, I look forward to coming back in town during the summer (and with more time) to enjoy their fire pit, their great little pool, and to indulge in their breakfast. Travis - the manager of the lodge - is incredibly welcoming and kind. Nothing feels better than having a friendly face greeting you to a new small town. He also gave some great recommendations for his favorites spots in town! Definitely stop through and stay here if you're coming through Zion/Kanab/Page!

Stayed here about 2 months ago. Thought the room was excellent, the cabin style looked even better than the photos online when it was dramatically lit for our evening arrival. Travis was a hospitable host at the front desk, really made us feel welcomed. I also appreciated the personal touch of my name on the card on the pillow, and the weather forecast within. Easily the best stay of our weeklong road trip through Utah -- wish they had a Canyons Lodge in Moab, Torrey, and Springdale too.

Securing lodging when travelling with two dogs too often means taking what you can get. And what you usually get is the simplest and not always cleanest room in a characterless hotel/motel. But then there is Canyons Lodge with its nicely appointed rooms which are clean, including the two that they reserve for familites with dogs. The small log motel is charming with a friendly (and genuinely dog-friendly) staff. It has a small but nice pool and a lovely fire pit, perfect for those balmy dry summer evenings. And best of all in just across the street. Sego is a remarkably good restaurant you would not expect to find out in the Utah backwater. Our dogs loved it; we loved it.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon trip and it was awesome. Travis at the front desk was very welcoming and gave great suggestions for things to do, and even got us reservations at the restaurant next door called Sego (delicious, do not miss!). Our room was clean, bed was comfortable, price was great, and service was friendly. We'll absolutely stay here again.

This is the same review that I posted under the old name, Bon-Bon, now "Canyons Lodge." I recently spent one night here in room #4 which is in the one-story extension from the office. This room is "cozy" sized and space at the foot of the bed is tight, same with the shower. But they manage to fit in a mini-fridge and microwave. Great amenities and service at this price level, clean & comfortable bedding. Loved having the bathrobe! The welcome includes an offer of water bottle or wine, a friendly host, and generous supply of in-room coffee. I enjoyed the free breakfast items offered in lobby, boiled eggs, fruit, nice bakery items OJ, coffee, real milk. Wifi in room but it kept dropping off. It's a little hard to find at the north end of town next to the Victorian Inn. The price for the small rooms is very reasonable. One thing I really liked was that you prepay on line when you reserve, and there is no paperwork to deal with on check out. ( Kind of like Motel 6.) There was a discount available using a link on the Tripadvisor site.

I was also hoping to "rent" a pet from the Animal Sanctuary for the duration of our visit, but alas, checked in too late for that. I'd advise anyone who wants to "rent" a pet to call in advance to understand the process and time cut-off. I loved the room. It was super cute and well-appointed for guests with pets. There were two bowls waiting near the front door, and two adorable sleeping areas - one in a cut-out in the wall, and another a pull-out trundle-style bed. The mercantile/ store was stocked with cute apparel for pet-lovers as well as items for pets. Breakfast was also served in the store in the morning - with lots of interesting and yummy options - like vegan egg bites and chia seed pudding. 10/10 recommend this place!!

The Best Place For Travelers With Or Without Pets…read more.... For our final 5 nights across the Southwest US, we stayed at the Best Friends Roadhouse. The BF Animal Sanctuary was on our schedule (at least 2 of the 4 days) and both reviews and their website looked great. Pros: - Location: Convenient, especially is you're visiting the Sanctuary. On the main road in the north part of Kanab. - Exterior: A newish looking hotel with nice views to the north and west. - Room: Excellent. Our king suite was spacious. One VERY large room included a big bedroom, a good sized kitchen and a spacious bathroom/shower/vanity. It also had plenty of space for storage and large closets. All done with contemporary Scandinavian furniture which minimizes clutter and convenient controls for lighting, ventilation and automatic shades. - Employees: Helpful. People at the reception desk and in the breakfast area/"Mercantile Shop" were all very friendly. - Breakfast: Vegan and very good. Included with the room. While it wasn't a buffet, you could order as much as you'd like. Much of it was homemade and I especially liked the "Overnight Oats". Unusual Pros: - Cats and dogs are encouraged to stay with accommodations in the room and across the property - "Barn Door" to create privacy between the bedroom and bathroom - Free laundry - Free iPad to use while in the room - Nicely equipped kitchen - Plentiful towels - Choice of full daily housekeeping, partial or none - Attractive high desert landscaping - If you'd like merchandise from Best Friends, the Mercantile Shop had everything Cons: - Bath towels for our first day were luxurious. The next 4 days were like a Holiday Inn. - Toilet paper was 1...maybe 2 ply and quite scratchy - Tissues were a bit rough - Parking was tight, especially on weekends and after 7 PM There are many places to stay in Kanab since it's a busy stop for Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, but the Roadhouse would be our only choice.

When my friends told me they booked this place and I read the reviews after-the-fact, I was so sure it was going to be old, dank, musty and gross. We arrived at night and I was still skeptical of this place. Front desk told us to park on the side of the building on the dirt area. Driving around out back, there was this creepy abandoned barn that gave me horror movie vibes. Our room was in the newer 2-story building. Walking inside though, there were lights everywhere and pictures of celebrities who have stayed there. I saw a guy cleaning one of the rooms and the hallway smelled of Lysol or some cleaner. Ok, good sign I thought. Our room was pretty big with 2 queen beds and a vanity with a sink just outside the bathroom, so two sinks total (convenient!). The furniture was like what you'd find in a 90's home. It felt homey instead of hotel-like which I kinda liked. TV, fridge, microwave.. check. But no coffee maker. You can actually request hot water from the front desk and they'll give you a pitcher. Now the surprises, which made this stay so spectacular. The pillows were SO fluffy. The bed was lined with a thicker, textured design sheet compared to your average hotel paper-thin sheet, and the mattress was soft and comfy. I had way better sleep here than I did at the Hilton the night before. The best part? The bathroom has a heater under the sink that you can control the temperature with a dial on the wall, so it was nice and toasty all the time. It was so awesome! I also noticed the baseboards in the room, the bathtub and caulking in the bathroom were spotless. That's how you know a place is clean. They offer a small breakfast in the dining room for a small $, but we opted out so we can try other restaurants across the street. The coffee and tea are always free. I definitely judged Parry Lodge before arriving here, but boy was I wrong! It is a quaint little place with a nostalgic historic feel, and was not creepy at all. I think this was the hotspot back in the day for western films. A lot of hikers stay here and we saw many early in the morning. I'd stay at Parry Lodge again if we make our way out here in the future.

We drove 4 hours from Las Vegas and booked through Super.com. I'm a Choice Hotels member and was hesitant about Choice properties to begin with -- I usually stick to IHG, Hilton or Marriott -- but a great experience at the Comfort Suites Moab a year ago gave me confidence. The 4.5 stars on Yelp sealed the deal. Big mistake. The phone call before arrival -- called to notify them of a late arrival and the front desk lady answered with a flat "Hello," never pulled up my reservation, couldn't add my Choice Rewards number since I booked third party which is fine, but when I was done with my questions she said "bye" and hung up cold. I work in hospitality. That's not okay. Check in -- the overnight guy in a fedora was genuinely great. Friendly, fast, no complaints. Wish the rest of the staff had his energy at check in. The room -- rock hard queen beds, square couch-style pillows with zero support swimming inside oversized pillowcases, and a pull out sofa mattress with serious visible wear. All four of us on the queen beds woke up with back and neck aches and had to make a grocery run for pain meds before we could function. Breakfast -- both mornings were identical. Cold eggs, rubbery sausage patties, broken juice machine on day two. The make your own waffle station was the only thing worth touching. This is what your $5/night resort fee gets you. The afternoon front desk lady -- sat behind the desk on her personal phone both times we walked through without a single acknowledgment. Asked to switch rooms due to the beds -- flat "No," sold out, zero apology. Later came back from a bike ride with a potentially broken arm and asked where the nearest hospital was -- she pointed without looking up and went back to her phone. My friends had to connect to the hotel WiFi just to pull up directions since T-Mobile is spotty in Kanab. Ended up with a broken forearm and wrist. Now in a cast and sling. I don't expect a front desk employee to be a first responder but basic human decency isn't too much to ask. The A/C -- stopped working at 2am. Called the front desk and the overnight guy answered in silence with his phone playing in the background. After I said hello he responded with attitude. Told him the A/C was out in room 105 and he literally asked me "what should I do?" Requested a room switch, he said sold out and hung up. Five guys trying to sleep in a heatwave with no air conditioning. Pool area -- advertised as open year round and heated. Pool was covered. Spa was open but the gate to the entire area had no lock -- anyone could walk right in. Real safety concern for families with kids. At $146.24 for two nights the price seemed reasonable on paper. In reality this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. The area is 5 stars -- this property is not. Stay elsewhere.
