We stayed here while volunteering for Best Friends. The staff was very friendly and professional. They made you feel right at home. The rooms were modern, while comfortable. The breakfast had a nice variety of great food. The complimentary bikes were very nice for riding around Kanab. My favorite place to stay while in Kanab.

3rd weekend of February each year! Balloons and Tunes Festival

Back again! Balloons and Tunes festival! We were Treated very well again! Ron went out of his way to get us an extra night, (our plans changed adding an additional day) in the same room, so we wouldn't have to pack up and move rooms. The Place was sold out that weekend, and he made it work. This is our go to hotel in Kanab.

Best place on our trip. Eric checked us in with dinner recommendations that were dog friendly AND open on Sunday night. He was sure to tell us how late they were open. On Monday night we got small plates on patio so our dog could be with us. We had duck lo main and Elote corn fritters. Delicious. Our room was lovely. We didn't use the fireplace. It was spacious and comfortable. There was a grassy lawn where our dog could do his thing. I believe they had bags. I had my own. There was a convenient trash can. Every aspect showed love and care for their lovely inn. We went to Zion and Bryce Canyon. Lots to do.

This hotel feels like a second home for us. My sister and I have stayed there twice within the last 9 months, and, in our exploration of the area, have found this to be most convenient and central to all the places we wanted to visit, including but not limited to: Moab, Bryce Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Monument Valley, Lake Powell/Antelope Canyon, and Zion. It offers dog-friendly accommodations, and this property has honestly been a dream for both of our dogs and us. From the well-manicured, clean grassy patches for easy and quick doggie relief, to the professional but familial treatment from the staff, to the delicious meals served at its in-house restaurant, the Canyons Boutique really made us feel appreciated. There is really something to be said about feeling as though we are being pampered by people who actually like us, are good at what they do, and are happy to be there. We felt that quality and energy consistently during both of our stays. They even left us a card to welcome us back this past stay. The property also stocks beach cruisers out front for guest use as well as pool towels that we took with us to Lake Powell. In the lobby there is also a business center/desktop computer and pamphlets describing and directing new (and repeat) tourists to tours of all skill levels and interests. But all of the above would mean little without Travis, the ever helpful, social, and remarkable human that makes this place a home. He helped us choose and navigate some local hikes using drawn out maps and foolproof directions. Encountering him again during our second stay was like seeing an old friend. This hotel and its staff lends an aura of familiarity that most other boutique hotels strive to capture but just cannot achieve. **The COVID-friendly conveniences of outdoor sinks, hand soap, paper towels, and trash cans out front, as well as socially-distanced dining, indoor and outdoor, seem to be a well-oiled machine in how smoothly everything ran. All staff wore masks. Breakfast was made-to-order for morning pickup to eat in your room or on the go. Extra bedsheets were supplied at check in, and housekeeping upon request. We didn't need housekeeping, but we left our trash can in front of our door when we left in the morning, and by our return a few hours later, it had been switched out for a new one. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND to anyone thinking of exploring the area and seeking accommodation.

The perfect spot to stay on my Birthday Weekend! Travis was so nice and super helpful, I so appreciate the customer service experience!! Thank you Travis!!! He took the time to go over COVID regulations in the County and answer all my questions. He even left a Welcome card in the room for us. What a nice little surprise. The front desk checked up on us before we arrived at the hotel and she was super nice upon arrival. The room was large and super clean!!! We stayed in a dog friendly room which was larger and it didn't even seem like a dog was ever there, that clean & fresh! We loved the room and it was the perfect location where we could go to Zion, Horseshoe Bend & Grand Canyon. It's about an hour or more to each of them from the hotel as was strategically selected for our travel. There's also a really nice patio to relax and a great view of Utah's beautiful rock mountains. I highly recommend this hotel!! We were impressed!

Cute hotel with a olde Victorian feel. The staff were very pleasant. Very clean There are bikes to ride around town. I wish I had time to take advantage of this Breakfast is provided. It is a very small selection, but meets the basic needs of a person traveling. The food was fine. It is noisy. I heard very clearly voices from another room. Wished they went to bed earlier rather than chatted. Glad there were two beds in the room. Mattresses need to be updated in room 106. We are not big people but I kept rolling into my husband. In the end he slept in the other bed so we could sleep The beds were fine for one person I loved the HOT water in the shower.

For the most part I loved this inn. It lives up to its' name for sure! The furniture inside the room was very Victorian and some rooms even have a real fireplace. How awesome is that! Room: Each bed is big and has 4 pillows allowing for comfort. There were coat hangers on the wall and the wardrobe had clothes hangers for people to use. Only problem I had with the room was that there was some hairs in our bathtub and the shower looked gross to step in. I didn't want to take a shower in there without flip flops... The tiles looked old and it looked like I was at a public shower to be honest. Breakfast: Not your usual continental breakfast. I think they serve different items depending on the day but the day I went, they had your usual cereal, fruit, toast and muffins but they also had scrambled eggs, sausage and ham. I wish they had a waffle maker though. Who doesn't love waffles in the morning? The dining room is very pretty and well-kept. During breakfast, there's a guy who specifically makes sure everything is stocked and in order. He wipes the tables down as well leaving it clean for the next party.

I needed a staycation. I got an upgrade to my room thanks to the manager at the front desk. Really appreciated it. It is a perfect room.

Wow! What a great place to stay in Kanab. My wife and I wanted to take pregnancy pictures in Zion and stay in this quaint little cute town. Travis the owner is welcoming and listens to you ramble on. He is kind and makes you feel welcome along with his front office staff. We will be back with our daughter for sure. Pet friendly but call in for specific rooms and they will accommodate.

After a long day of exploring Zion, we were ready for nice beds at our hotel. When we first drove to Canyons Boutique Hotel, it was enchanting. It had lights lit up and the structure of the hotel was quaint. Checking in, I noted my name but the lady had a hard time finding it and turns out instead of booking the room for 12/24/17, I booked it for 12/24/18.. I was so nervous that they wouldn't have any rooms and it would be a large headache to deal with but the staff at the front was so calming. She assured us she had rooms and then went on to honor the price we booked it at rather than the nightly price which was higher. She then shared recommendations of restaurants to eat at since it was Christmas Eve and most restaurants in the town were closed. The rooms were quite spacious and clean. Each room is equipped with a fridge as well. Parking is easy as there is ample parking in the back. They served a hot breakfast consisting of eggs, bread pudding with buttermilk, sausage, bacon, and potatoes! They also had a selection of cereal, breads, and juices. All in all, the stay was great. Would definitely stay here again if in the area!

Free cruiser bike to explore town.

Loved this hotel. Very comfortable bedding, fireplace, and an huge tub for soaking after long days of hiking. Great hospitality. Good breakfast and willing to accommodate my dietary issues. Free bikes for exploring town.

Our small bathroom at the Canyons Boutique Hotel, but it was very clean!

I was also hoping to "rent" a pet from the Animal Sanctuary for the duration of our visit, but alas, checked in too late for that. I'd advise anyone who wants to "rent" a pet to call in advance to understand the process and time cut-off. I loved the room. It was super cute and well-appointed for guests with pets. There were two bowls waiting near the front door, and two adorable sleeping areas - one in a cut-out in the wall, and another a pull-out trundle-style bed. The mercantile/ store was stocked with cute apparel for pet-lovers as well as items for pets. Breakfast was also served in the store in the morning - with lots of interesting and yummy options - like vegan egg bites and chia seed pudding. 10/10 recommend this place!!

The Best Place For Travelers With Or Without Pets…read more.... For our final 5 nights across the Southwest US, we stayed at the Best Friends Roadhouse. The BF Animal Sanctuary was on our schedule (at least 2 of the 4 days) and both reviews and their website looked great. Pros: - Location: Convenient, especially is you're visiting the Sanctuary. On the main road in the north part of Kanab. - Exterior: A newish looking hotel with nice views to the north and west. - Room: Excellent. Our king suite was spacious. One VERY large room included a big bedroom, a good sized kitchen and a spacious bathroom/shower/vanity. It also had plenty of space for storage and large closets. All done with contemporary Scandinavian furniture which minimizes clutter and convenient controls for lighting, ventilation and automatic shades. - Employees: Helpful. People at the reception desk and in the breakfast area/"Mercantile Shop" were all very friendly. - Breakfast: Vegan and very good. Included with the room. While it wasn't a buffet, you could order as much as you'd like. Much of it was homemade and I especially liked the "Overnight Oats". Unusual Pros: - Cats and dogs are encouraged to stay with accommodations in the room and across the property - "Barn Door" to create privacy between the bedroom and bathroom - Free laundry - Free iPad to use while in the room - Nicely equipped kitchen - Plentiful towels - Choice of full daily housekeeping, partial or none - Attractive high desert landscaping - If you'd like merchandise from Best Friends, the Mercantile Shop had everything Cons: - Bath towels for our first day were luxurious. The next 4 days were like a Holiday Inn. - Toilet paper was 1...maybe 2 ply and quite scratchy - Tissues were a bit rough - Parking was tight, especially on weekends and after 7 PM There are many places to stay in Kanab since it's a busy stop for Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, but the Roadhouse would be our only choice.

When my friends told me they booked this place and I read the reviews after-the-fact, I was so sure it was going to be old, dank, musty and gross. We arrived at night and I was still skeptical of this place. Front desk told us to park on the side of the building on the dirt area. Driving around out back, there was this creepy abandoned barn that gave me horror movie vibes. Our room was in the newer 2-story building. Walking inside though, there were lights everywhere and pictures of celebrities who have stayed there. I saw a guy cleaning one of the rooms and the hallway smelled of Lysol or some cleaner. Ok, good sign I thought. Our room was pretty big with 2 queen beds and a vanity with a sink just outside the bathroom, so two sinks total (convenient!). The furniture was like what you'd find in a 90's home. It felt homey instead of hotel-like which I kinda liked. TV, fridge, microwave.. check. But no coffee maker. You can actually request hot water from the front desk and they'll give you a pitcher. Now the surprises, which made this stay so spectacular. The pillows were SO fluffy. The bed was lined with a thicker, textured design sheet compared to your average hotel paper-thin sheet, and the mattress was soft and comfy. I had way better sleep here than I did at the Hilton the night before. The best part? The bathroom has a heater under the sink that you can control the temperature with a dial on the wall, so it was nice and toasty all the time. It was so awesome! I also noticed the baseboards in the room, the bathtub and caulking in the bathroom were spotless. That's how you know a place is clean. They offer a small breakfast in the dining room for a small $, but we opted out so we can try other restaurants across the street. The coffee and tea are always free. I definitely judged Parry Lodge before arriving here, but boy was I wrong! It is a quaint little place with a nostalgic historic feel, and was not creepy at all. I think this was the hotspot back in the day for western films. A lot of hikers stay here and we saw many early in the morning. I'd stay at Parry Lodge again if we make our way out here in the future.

We drove 4 hours from Las Vegas and booked through Super.com. I'm a Choice Hotels member and was hesitant about Choice properties to begin with -- I usually stick to IHG, Hilton or Marriott -- but a great experience at the Comfort Suites Moab a year ago gave me confidence. The 4.5 stars on Yelp sealed the deal. Big mistake. The phone call before arrival -- called to notify them of a late arrival and the front desk lady answered with a flat "Hello," never pulled up my reservation, couldn't add my Choice Rewards number since I booked third party which is fine, but when I was done with my questions she said "bye" and hung up cold. I work in hospitality. That's not okay. Check in -- the overnight guy in a fedora was genuinely great. Friendly, fast, no complaints. Wish the rest of the staff had his energy at check in. The room -- rock hard queen beds, square couch-style pillows with zero support swimming inside oversized pillowcases, and a pull out sofa mattress with serious visible wear. All four of us on the queen beds woke up with back and neck aches and had to make a grocery run for pain meds before we could function. Breakfast -- both mornings were identical. Cold eggs, rubbery sausage patties, broken juice machine on day two. The make your own waffle station was the only thing worth touching. This is what your $5/night resort fee gets you. The afternoon front desk lady -- sat behind the desk on her personal phone both times we walked through without a single acknowledgment. Asked to switch rooms due to the beds -- flat "No," sold out, zero apology. Later came back from a bike ride with a potentially broken arm and asked where the nearest hospital was -- she pointed without looking up and went back to her phone. My friends had to connect to the hotel WiFi just to pull up directions since T-Mobile is spotty in Kanab. Ended up with a broken forearm and wrist. Now in a cast and sling. I don't expect a front desk employee to be a first responder but basic human decency isn't too much to ask. The A/C -- stopped working at 2am. Called the front desk and the overnight guy answered in silence with his phone playing in the background. After I said hello he responded with attitude. Told him the A/C was out in room 105 and he literally asked me "what should I do?" Requested a room switch, he said sold out and hung up. Five guys trying to sleep in a heatwave with no air conditioning. Pool area -- advertised as open year round and heated. Pool was covered. Spa was open but the gate to the entire area had no lock -- anyone could walk right in. Real safety concern for families with kids. At $146.24 for two nights the price seemed reasonable on paper.
