We had to book a room last minute on our way back to LA from Salt Lake City on Dec 25th, and upon our arrival I could not have been more pleasantly surprised of my decision to have picked this place! The hotel looked more like a ski resort with cozy cabins and the views it had to offer from each room were just breathtaking, specially with the sound of the Virgin river running along the entire property added to the magic of this place. The rooms were very clean with every amenities one would need for a comfortable stay. The front desk staff were the warmest and friendliest I have recently encountered, catering to our every need as well as giving us useful advice on activities and places to eat and visit. Literally amazing place. The backdrop is beautiful and the proximity to Zion is fantastic. The rooms were beautiful and spacious and well equipped, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We had a room booked elsewhere and found the hotel to be.... Lacking in cleanliness. So we dropped by the Desert Pearl Inn after a quick search of what hotels in the area had same day availability and strong reviews. We were instantly at ease with the gal at the front desk situated in their cozy reception area. We were able to book our preferred room type and we were off! The property is beautiful, service is wonderful, the rooms are lovely and well kept, and the river front rooms sit on a lawn that borders the river and every single day we had deer grazing there which was magical. The hotel has partnerships with many businesses in the local area where you get a discount for activities and food and such. We did the e-bikes through the company that's right there on site, we also took advantage of the discounts at the hot springs and the on site restaurant! A true gem/"pearl." I have been reluctant to review the Desert Pearl Inn in the past out of selfishness; I did not want the secret to get out. However, the Desert Pearl is well-deserving of a positive review. I first discovered this place 26 years ago, and I estimate that I have stayed here 20 times over the years. Over 26 years, never once have I been disappointed. I have recommended this place countless times to my family and friends. For starters, the rooms have a rustic modern style with expansive balconies or patios that include Adirondack chairs for relaxing while taking in the views of the red mountains, which are right in front of you. When awaking in the morning, simply roll up the shades, and you can enjoy the sunrise on the mountains while in bed or while having a cup of coffee on the loveseat in the seating area. The kitchenette is a nice addition, especially on hiking days. You can make yourself a simple breakfast prior to your morning hike(s). On lazier days, the addition of the restaurant was a major upgrade within the past few years. One request for management: The coffeemakers could use an upgrade to full-sized models with additional coffee mugs also stocked. However, I will note the availability of a small drawer-type dishwasher that is also included in the kitchenette. Location: The DPI is conveniently located in Springdale with a shuttle stop right in front of the hotel. There are many restaurant, shopping, and art/photo galleries located easily within walking distance. The entrance to Zion National Park is just a short shuttle ride (1mile) to the visitor's center or short car ride to the entrance to the park. I appreciate management's ability to maintain the beauty of the rooms and grounds over the years. The pool and spa are always in great shape. Electric vehicle parking spots have also been added. One future upgrade request: I like the bathroom design with separate sink/closet area and separate shower/toilet area. The pocket sliding doors are also a nice space-saving feature. However, I would like to see a shower makeover to a larger, more modern walk-in design rather than a tub and shower curtain (I do appreciate the curved curtain rod to gain space.) design. Overall, I rate this 5-stars. The Desert Pearl is truly one of my favorite hotels of all time. I look forward to my next visit! read more

Interior of the room is comfortable and beautiful - only strange thing are the headboards which are hollow and made of a sheet of metal. Our group of 28 friends (!) stayed at the Desert Pearl hotel in early September, for a 60th birthday celebration. It turned out to be a perfect choice. The check in went smoothly for everyone and our room, the River's Edge Suite, was very spacious (with a kitchenette) and equipped with everything we needed for the stay. Our group dined next door at Camp Outpost on the first night (a two minute walk), and later found a fun speakeasy a short walk down the road. The hotel was an easy .5 mile walk to Zion Guru to rent equipment, and the shuttle stop was directly in front to catch a ride for our hike to the Narrows. The staff was accessible throughout the trip, the pool and jacuzzi were both well maintained, and the electric charging stations (I remember 4 of them) made it easy for those of us with EV cars. I will definitely stay again on our next visit to Zion. read more

My first interaction with them was to book via phone and they were super Duper accommodating and pleasant. Our check in experience was great, the young lady was so focused on customer service and kind. Though we requested a room on the river at booking I was told that it would be under renovation, so blessed that we ended up facing the river. Poolside is gorgeous too, though. The view was incredible, listening to the sound of the river was amazing. The place was very well taken care of and clean. I thought it was absolutely perfect. I don't understand why it's being renovated. The laundry room was affordable, which was a nice surprise. Parking was a breeze. If there was something to complain about the only thing would be that they did not have USB ports in the room to charge things. Other than that, it was wonderful. Our family stopped here for a couple nights on our weeklong and the Desert Pearl Inn really exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean, the pool and common areas were peaceful (and not a rowdy scene like other hotel pool spots), and the location is conveniently located right by the shuttle buses to Zion. The pool area is serene and overlooks a breathtaking view of mountains. What was a great cherry on top was that the inn is next door to Camp Outpost; a tasty restaurant for quick or sit down meals and drinks. We were only there one night on our way out of Zion (stayed in Zion Mountain Ranch the other two nights of our trip) and wished we would have stayed at Desert Pearl the whole time. I've stayed here a few times now and it is Absolutely Gorgeous! I always look forward to staying here when visiting Zion. Their suites are nice and spacious with a well equipped kitchenette that comes in handy when traveling with family. Rooms are beautifully decorated with a modern rustic vibe. Cleanliness is top notch! They offer a great list of amenities. I love the convenience of having their laundry facility to wash our clothes after a day of hiking. But my absolute favorite is the Stunning backdrop view of Zion NP from their pool! It is a sight to see! Entire property is well maintained and manicured. Staff are always friendly and accommodating with exceptional service. It is centrally located near restaurants and shops. We stayed in a river view room, and had the most incredible back patio, lawn, view of the mountain and enjoyed the sound of the river. It was so serene and beautiful. 5 star bed with elite sheets. Feels silly to mention the sheets but they are the best I've seen at a hotel on any continent. Views are good anyone around. I doubt the pools are as nice though. Hot tub after a hike around here is hard to find. You park outside your room which is a nice touch. Staff all seem to love their job. Cleaning staff do a 5 star (minus the slippers) job every day. We were welcomed warmly in the lobby. They are happy to answer questions about getting around town, etc. We needed bikes and rented in the shop that is literally in their parking lot. Even though it was October, the bike was not due back til 7:30pm. The hotel was really comfortable. The riverside room we had was big! There were kitchen essentials and even a dishwasher in the room, but we did not do any food prep on our short trip. There were deer between our room and the river which was a gorgeous backdrop for our vacay. The hotel was accommodating as we wanted to shower before leaving town and they let us use the pool shower. It was a Monday in late October, but the afternoon was warm and if we were sticking around we would have used the fabulous looking pool. Plenty of lounge chairs and nobody around. The free coffee in the lobby was key for getting us up and going on the early side to start our adventures in Zion. We biked from the hotel to the park and all the way to the Narrows. It took almost an hour for that whole ride with a few potty and water stops. read more

Complaint Regarding Stay The purpose of this letter is to express a bad experience with the accommodations provided during a recent stay at the hotel, from Monday July 7th to Saturday, July 12th, in room number... First let me say that overall, our stay at your establishment was a memorable one. The rooms and grounds were very pleasant and clean. A comfortable and enjoyable stay was anticipated at the Desert Pearl Inn, based on the recommendation of family members who also joined us on our trip to Utah. However, several accommodation issues significantly impacted the experience. The following problems were encountered: Upon arrival to our room that afternoon, we unpacked for our first night. The weather was quite warm (100+) even into the evening. We immediately noticed that the air in the room was not as cool as the A/C reflected at 69 degrees, and our family's room was much cooler. As we left for the evening, we dropped it down to 65 in hopes it would be cooler when we returned after dinner. Unfortunately, it was not any cooler and felt a bit humid in the room. We did call the front desk that evening to advise of the issue. We were advised that a portable unit could be brought to our room or we could switch rooms. We said we would see how the night progressed and reach back in the morning. As not to inconvenience ourselves or the staff on our first night. Tuesday morning, it was apparent that the A/C unit was not working overnight, so we called the front desk again and they brought over a portable unit. We left for the day and when we arrived back in the afternoon, the room was a very comfortable and pleasant temperature. Unfortunately, in the middle of the night we woke up as the room very hot and humid and the temperature was at least close to 80 in the room. The portable unit was blowing cold air but apparently the hose behind it disconnected from heat and had detached and the unit was just blowing hot air back into the room. Wednesday morning at about 6am we called the front desk again and a maintenance man came to the room after 8am to check the unit and at that time it was at least 85 degrees in the room, and he suggested that we move to another room. We were moved to another room just after 11am that morning. Later that evening as my mother woke up in the middle of the night, she slipped getting out of bed because the A/C split unit in the new room was dripping water all night onto the floor. Fortunately, she caught herself on the bed and did not completely fall from the water on the floor. She did not want to complain as it had already been a hassle the first two nights, so we just made sure to put towels on the floor by wall where the unit was or the rest of our stay. As described, in was unfortunate for us that these issues persisted throughout the first few days of our stay. Though the change of room accommodation was appreciated, it was also an inconvenience that we had to pack up our belongings in the middle of our trip to move to another room. We did receive the generous note and box of pastries that were given to us for this inconvenience, but I still have to say that a more generous offering would have been appreciated. Our stay at your establishment was at about $2000 for the 5 nights, and though we were very happy with our trip to Springdale and our time spent, I feel that was a lot of money spent and it would be greatly appreciated if there could be compensation for the inconvenience and unsatisfactory experience our first two nights. Consideration is requested for a refund for at least the first two days of our stay. A prompt and satisfactory response and resolution to this matter would be appreciated. Definitely a wow factor type property. Very spacious suite. Overall good experience. We paid extra for the "River View" which is not much of a view at all. Just trees and a little stream. Just get a room with a pool view, save yourself some money. The room was pretty awesome though, all hard wood, back wall all windows, cool bathroom set up with double sliding doors so multiple people can get ready at one time, and very comfy beds. Our hotel phone did not work. VCR/DVD player in room. Like who has those still? When you make a reservation, make sure to request the TOP FLOOR. Sounded like a heard of elephants above us for 2 days, at all hours of the night, keeping us awake. Lame. Also, DO NOT walk barefoot on the pool deck. Like walking over fire and hot coals. Burns WILL occur. Everyone was running from the water to their chairs. The architect/General Contractor dropped the ball big time making the pool deck red rock stone. Need something to absorb 100+ degree weather and water. Cool little restaurant attached to the property called Camp Post. Delicious margaritas. Friendly staff. Great service. But WAY too many other great properties to stay at that are less expensive and just as nice. Good experience. Will try a different property next year. read more

I'm super picky about hotels. this gem absolutely blew us away. perfectly appointed rooms with spacious layouts, fully stocked kitchenettes, floor to ceiling windows of Zion and great housekeeping. Rooms were super clean, great amenities and LOTS of storage. we stayed in double room facing the mountains/river view and it was magical. Coffee on the porch with the river rolling by and even had a deer trot through one morning. Located in the heart of Springdale there are tons of restaurants and the shuttle stop nearby. Really enjoyed the location, cute little down named Springdale. 5 min drive to the entrance of Zion National Park. The hotel room itself was very spacious and clean. We chose a riverside room- behind our room was a little grassy area (which was nice for my son to run around), after that grassy area is where the Virgin River flowed directly through. The staff was nice, the beds were comfortable. I liked how there was a mini fridge, toaster oven, sink and microwave. I really wish there was a little stove-like a little kitchenette. We stayed for three nights and loved it. Immaculate rooms with comfortable beds AND comfortable pillows. The kitchenette was nicely appointed with a mini-fridge, microwave, dishwasher, toaster oven, and a four-cup drip coffee maker. The property was Impeccably-maintained by a seemingly ever-present & friendly staff. The pool was inviting, refreshing & relaxing after a long, hot day of hiking- it was wonderful relaxing in a lounge chair staring at the scenic view. Our riverside room also provided us with daily visits from the friendly resident deer! The property is located walking distance from the entrance to Zion, but there is also a shuttle stop across the street that will take you directly to the park. My significant other and I stayed at this hotel while exploring Zion National Park. We were celebrating a birthday and decided to splurge on the hotel. I absolutely loved this hotel. We rented a king room, second floor, overlooking the Virgin River. We sat on the balcony every evening and every morning. Loved it!! The room was spacious, we had a king bed (amazingly comfortable!), hardwood floors, a couch, small kitchen table, fridge, sink, counterspace for food and drinks. This room was so spacious and comfortable. Bathrooms were a nice size. Overall it was a fantastic experience. There is a restaurant onsite, a pool and a hottub, which we didn't use. I wish we could have but we spent most of our time in Zion. The hotel location was very close to the visitor's center. We walked to the visitor center to get on the Zion shuttle, but you could also take the town shuttle to the visitor center. Very centrally located. We walked to dinner each evening. We stayed at the desert pearl inn on March 19 th for a couple of nights . Our room was spectacular. We had a small kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator, toaster oven and even a dishwasher. The view was beautiful with the virgin river running right behind the hotel. The location was top notch, Zion national park was so close. Restaurants and stores were within walking distance. My mother suffers from PTSD and takes a 10lbs Service dog everywhere she goes. I have been coming to the Desert Pearl since early 2000's almost 20 years now! I wanted to introduce my mother to Zion and The Desert Pearl to show her the beauty as a way to assist her debilitating disease. We stayed 1 night. Upon getting our bill, we were charged an additional $300.00 for a pet payment!! We arrived off season so the room itself was $250 per night. Upon calling the manager, Emmy, to explain my mothers issues and to insure her that my mothers service dog slept in her carry bag, had no accidents or issues, Emmy was beyond rude and unprofessional. She said that because there was a dog, service animal or not, they had to deep clean the room and would charge us the extra $300. Deep clean?? For a 10lbs service animal for 1 night? $300?? I will not recommend The Desert Pearl the way I have for the past 20 years or stay there until Emmy the manager is gone. Long Gone. read more

This is where a great hotel loses because of staff and policies that don't consider their clients. My review should be a 5 star because the hotel is just lovely, right on the Virgin river and has a sparkling cool pool and the rooms are spacious and clean and decorated so nicely with scenic decks. But..... Upon arrival when it was 100 degrees out, i was told that they needed me to go "somewhere" for at least 20 min for housekeeping to sanitize my room. What? You had my deposit and my arrival time. The room still isn't clean? They told me the lobby bathroom was " broke" when I asked to use it. ( we'd driven for 4 hours to get there) and told me to use the pool bathroom and hang out by the pool. Right. 100 degrees and I'm in hiking clothes and I will sit by the pool because my room isn't ready. So we went out for snacks. Returned an hour later. I walked into the lobby which could easily accommodate 4 people at 6 feet each and I stood at the door. I was sternly told to leave because only one person was allowed. It is 100 degrees out. There is semi shade and no benches outside. I wait 5 minutes. Finally I get in. My husband comes in with me. He is ordered to leave. How welcoming! Finally get the room which is perfect. Great decor and spacious. Very clean and comfy. Next evening after hiking all day, notice no sign of housekeeping. No trash takeout, no new towels etc etc. Apparently they don't do that to protect their staff until you checkout. Well at least you could offer to have fresh towels put at the door, which they did do after I insisted. I mean this is a park where we are hiking and climbing and in water! I get it. People are worried and rules are constantly changing but.... you have to think a little about your guests and figure out that for over $250 a night you should have: a seating area with cool beverages or water outside the office when there is MORE THAN ONE PERSON in line for the front desk at a hotel outside a busy national park, be upfront with offering fresh towels every afternoon and offering you to place full trash cans somewhere outside the room to be emptied. These rooms have cooking and fridges so there will be trash and at warm temps, that should be taken care of daily. Pains me to say that a place that should be perfect is blowing it by forgetting about their guests when it counts: at first impression time. read more

A real pearl of a place with a great location. We stayed in the King suite with a river view (first floor; you need a second floor room to actually see the river). We had a small semi-private porch to hang out on and take in the gorgeous views. The room was well equipped with unexpected items like dishes and dishwasher. The room was very comfortable and spacious. Room service every day. We didn't use the pool (a lot of kids) or the hot tub (very sunny during the day) but they looked inviting. A plus was the EV chargers available at, apparently, no extra charge (although they appeared to only trickle charge on our vehicle; no big deal as we just plugged it in overnight). The staff at the desk were very helpful. I wish there was an exercise room but we got plenty of exercise on the Zion Park trails. Would definitely stay here again. read more
