I've stayed at hotels across North America, Asia, and Europe. It is rare that I have come across a hotel that combines ideal location, aesthetics, service, room comfort, design, amenities, and design to the extent that this little gem of a hotel does. I've been visiting Kanab for 20 years and I'm sad I've missed this wonderful hotel. I'm only here for an overnight stay as tomorrow I'm getting my new home here in Kanab. I will definitely always recommend to friends and family who visit. Oh and there's a beautiful pool and your pets are welcome !

For a retro inspired hotel stay in Kanab, Utah, Quail Park Lodge is the place to stay. Just be sure to ask to stay in room #4, as I had no issues with my room. My other friends, complained about the shower water pressure and their décor wasn't as cute as my room. The exterior of the hotel is reminiscent of B-movie horror flick, and you may find it aesthetically pleasing ...for me, I'd say it's entertaining, as I'm feeling more optimistic, as I write this review. I found it a tad annoying, that checking into the hotel was located at another hotel down the street: Canyons Boutique Hotel (190 N 300 W, phone (435) 644-8660). Also, the free breakfast (hot or cold) included in the hotel stay, is also obtained at this address. Service kept my room nice, tidy with clean towels, while I was out of the room. Front desk staff at Canyons Boutique was nice, informative. Bicycles available for no extra charge, if you'd like. Fridge and microwave in the room. Ice machine is located near the bikes. Gas fire pit was nice to use at night. I didn't go into the pool, looked clean from afar. Suggestions: more electrical outlets needed, or perhaps lamps that have outlets would be appreciated. Hotel is dog friendly. Stay safe and healthy (mind, body and soul) out there :)

We stayed at the quail park lodge for one night and the property is super cute. It's down on the end of town, but walking distance to every restaurant in kanab. The motel is old/retro and they offer bikes that you can ride, which I thought was cute! The price is right for the stay and the front hotel staff was super nice! The rooms could maybe be updated a little bit but overall cute stay!

We stayed here for three nights and chose this hotel primarily due to great reviews. The only 'Retro' qualities to this hotel that I observed were the bikes outside the office for guests and the lobby. The room was 'comfortable', but I would just say average in comparison to other hotels. The A/C Unit is quite loud. The 'Free Breakfast ' is a bagged breakfast. The pool was closed ( probably seasonal, as it is April), but weather WAS warm enough by now. On the positive side, all of the employees were friendly. The hotel appeared clean, and our room was clean. Overall, I think this property is overpriced. My biggest gripe is the $10.00 'Resort Fee'. Resort fees always bother me but there are some places that you just have to accept this practice ( Las Vegas, Palm Springs). I don't know why this motel would charge a 'Resort Fee'. I did a price comparison with the only other hotel we have stayed at in Kanab ( Hampton Inn), and depending on the date, Hampton is sometimes less expensive. If you are looking for a hotel in Kanab, and this hotel is less expensive, I would say it's a good value.

Quail Park lodge was a great find for our stay in Kanab. The hotel is owner-operated, along with the Canyon Lodge up the street. Because of Covid, all staffing (including check-in and food) is out of Canyon Lodge (also a great looking place to stay). For our family of 5, the one bedroom suite worked great. The beds and pillows could be more comfortable, but everything else was fantastic: We loved the quail-shaped pool, fire pit area, retro vibes, and complimentary bicycles. We all enjoyed the food, the friendly service, and the central location, too. The owner even worked with us to cancel our last night so that we could alter our trip last-minute.

This was my 3rd or 4th time staying here. The location is ideal for visiting Bryce Canyon, Zion, North Rim of Grand Canyon and even Lake Powell if you don't mind a little drive (the drive is gorgeous). A nice, clean, comfortable lodge in a great location. A very delicious, generous sized hot breakfast was included at their other hotel only a short walk away. A great value.

This place is awesome! Fun atmosphere. VERY clean. Highly recommend! I think it's family owned and it's clear they take a lot pride in making this place comfortable and more than just your average hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

I was also hoping to "rent" a pet from the Animal Sanctuary for the duration of our visit, but alas, checked in too late for that. I'd advise anyone who wants to "rent" a pet to call in advance to understand the process and time cut-off. I loved the room. It was super cute and well-appointed for guests with pets. There were two bowls waiting near the front door, and two adorable sleeping areas - one in a cut-out in the wall, and another a pull-out trundle-style bed. The mercantile/ store was stocked with cute apparel for pet-lovers as well as items for pets. Breakfast was also served in the store in the morning - with lots of interesting and yummy options - like vegan egg bites and chia seed pudding. 10/10 recommend this place!!

The Best Place For Travelers With Or Without Pets…read more.... For our final 5 nights across the Southwest US, we stayed at the Best Friends Roadhouse. The BF Animal Sanctuary was on our schedule (at least 2 of the 4 days) and both reviews and their website looked great. Pros: - Location: Convenient, especially is you're visiting the Sanctuary. On the main road in the north part of Kanab. - Exterior: A newish looking hotel with nice views to the north and west. - Room: Excellent. Our king suite was spacious. One VERY large room included a big bedroom, a good sized kitchen and a spacious bathroom/shower/vanity. It also had plenty of space for storage and large closets. All done with contemporary Scandinavian furniture which minimizes clutter and convenient controls for lighting, ventilation and automatic shades. - Employees: Helpful. People at the reception desk and in the breakfast area/"Mercantile Shop" were all very friendly. - Breakfast: Vegan and very good. Included with the room. While it wasn't a buffet, you could order as much as you'd like. Much of it was homemade and I especially liked the "Overnight Oats". Unusual Pros: - Cats and dogs are encouraged to stay with accommodations in the room and across the property - "Barn Door" to create privacy between the bedroom and bathroom - Free laundry - Free iPad to use while in the room - Nicely equipped kitchen - Plentiful towels - Choice of full daily housekeeping, partial or none - Attractive high desert landscaping - If you'd like merchandise from Best Friends, the Mercantile Shop had everything Cons: - Bath towels for our first day were luxurious. The next 4 days were like a Holiday Inn. - Toilet paper was 1...maybe 2 ply and quite scratchy - Tissues were a bit rough - Parking was tight, especially on weekends and after 7 PM There are many places to stay in Kanab since it's a busy stop for Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, but the Roadhouse would be our only choice.

My only concern was the barn door to the restroom did not fully close! It would close but then creep open! Several famous movie stars stayed here back in the Westerns heydays. It has a fun retro vibe with a beautiful main building that houses the breakfast area as well as lovely sitting areas. It also has a lovely, well-maintained outdoor pool but I didn't end up taking advantage of it due to rain both evenings were we there. We stayed in the "Joey Bishop" cottage, which is actually connected to another suite next door. They gave us a free upgrade to a king suite because they accidentally canceled our reservation a few days before we were scheduled to arrive (still not sure what happened there). It definitely felt like a step back in time with historic design including a sitting porch outside and a roomy living room/bedroom as well as separate bathroom. It had a large "closet" area in the bathroom that was undoubtedly historic. There was also a fun window in the bathroom that hinged on the bottom but I don't think it opens anymore after many coats of paint. Also the living room floor sloped considerably but at least it had a smooth flooring over its entirety. Outlets were quite loose and of course did not have the modern cell phone connectors so good thing we brought our own converters from home. The included breakfast was delicious especially the sausage and the breakfast casserole. Very friendly and helpful waitstaff. Had an interesting barn in the back 40; my guess is for weddings and the like. Definitely fun to stay at, but be very, very careful walking around the property if you are elderly like us because we both tripped and almost face-planted a couple of times because of numerous up and down steps (some without railings) inside and out.
