I'm not usually the guy who gets overly excited about hotel rooms. If the bed doesn't hate me and there aren't mysterious stains that tell a story I'd rather not hear I'm generally happy. So it caught me by surprise just how much I liked Quail Park Lodge. It's tucked against those incredible red rock views and endless Utah skies, right on the main road through Kanab. Granted, that's not saying much because Kanab basically has two main streets, but the location is perfect for getting anywhere in town while still feeling peaceful. The best way I can describe it is that it has Airbnb personality without the Airbnb hassle. The room felt modern, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated instead of looking like it was furnished by the Hotel Beige Committee. The bed was genuinely comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and the rain shower head made me briefly consider whether I should just live there now. Everything about the place was easy. Keyless entry, simple check-in, easy parking, a nice little pool out front, and lots of those small touches that make you feel like someone actually cared about the guest experience instead of just checking boxes. I booked online, although you'll also notice a QR code posted at the property if you're already in town. Either way it's as painless as booking gets. It's rare that I say a hotel actually made my trip better, but this one absolutely did. I'd stay here again without a second thought. Five stars. I'd give it a 10 out of 10, but Yelp insists on limiting my enthusiasm. read more

This is about the cutest little motel I've ever seen! It's been refurbished to 1960s retro decor and everything is crisp and clean. The shower tile is a beautiful shade of blue and the bed is so comfortable, including 4 oversized pillows. The pool is small but so refreshing after a long, hard day hiking. It's completely contactless entry and any needs are done via text. All texts are replied to promptly. Do yourself a favor and stay here! read more

This is a great little quirky hotel on the outskirts of Kanab. It's very retro, the vibe is definitely sunny and almost Scandinavian, the room was furnished very beautifully considering this is really just a little motel that's been converted into a hotel. We didn't meet anyone from the hotel as it was all keyless check in, but the room was spotless. There were lots of little touches like the retro red fridge and really nice bathroom products and even a flashlight the console should you need it. The bed was very comfortable on the linens were good. There was even a little mushroom lamp on a desk. The pool was small, but it was a perfect size really with some comfortable chairs around it, and some umbrellas to protect you from the Utah Sun. I would definitely come back here. read more

From classic mesh metal chairs to color choices this refurbished 50s motor inn is just cutesy like it says on the sign. Bring ear plugs though, the air conditioners sound like a '50s era turboprop aircraft! We stayed in a King bedroom with shower. The room is stuffed with oversized nice furniture. Difficult getting around in the room. The living room size couch takes up so much room, no room for sitting on it, just used it for our suitcases. Same with the footbed seat. Just very cramped room. Cute place, but I wouldn't stay here again. read more

It is rare that I have come across a hotel that combines ideal location, aesthetics, service, room comfort, design, amenities, and design to the extent that this little gem of a hotel does. I've been visiting Kanab for 20 years and I'm sad I've missed this wonderful hotel. I'm only here for an overnight stay as tomorrow I'm getting my new home here in Kanab. For a retro inspired hotel stay in Kanab, Utah, Quail Park Lodge is the place to stay. Just be sure to ask to stay in room #4, as I had no issues with my room. My other friends, complained about the shower water pressure and their décor wasn't as cute as my room. The exterior of the hotel is reminiscent of B-movie horror flick, and you may find it aesthetically pleasing ...for me, I'd say it's entertaining, as I'm feeling more optimistic, as I write this review. I found it a tad annoying, that checking into the hotel was located at another hotel down the street: Canyons Boutique Hotel (190 N 300 W, phone (435) 644-8660). Also, the free breakfast (hot or cold) included in the hotel stay, is also obtained at this address. Service kept my room nice, tidy with clean towels, while I was out of the room. Front desk staff at Canyons Boutique was nice, informative. Bicycles available for no extra charge, if you'd like. Fridge and microwave in the room. Ice machine is located near the bikes. Gas fire pit was nice to use at night. I didn't go into the pool, looked clean from afar. Suggestions: more electrical outlets needed, or perhaps lamps that have outlets would be appreciated. This little roadside gem is a 10/10. I was charmed by the retro vibe of the room. It was super clean and the bed and pillows were really comfortable! Short version: horrible customer service by management, (not Bex at the front desk, she was great). Undisclosed cancellation policy of no refunds under any circumstances within 30 days of reservation-- no matter when you book (even if it's under 30 days). Basically, if you have an emergency within 30 days of your rez of this place, you're SOL. Full version: hate to leave a one star but I think it's important that everyone knows what you're getting into when you book. As of today's date (6/4/24), their website does not list their booking cancellations policy... Nor will you receive an email confirmation with this policy. I booked over the phone on 5/24/24 for 6/5/24 for 1 night. I got a text confirming my booking after the call ended (a short text confirming the dates and a greeting). 3 days after I booked (5/27/24) I had an emergency injury that required a 3 month healing per my orthopedic doctor--who also advised us to cancel our family trip to Kanab/Zion. I called Quail Park Lodge to cancel our reservation. I spoke with Bex, she explained the cancellation and refund policy, but she told me she would call her manager to see what they could do. She called me back and told me they said I could rebook within 30 days of my reservation but no later. I explained what my doc said, that I couldn't get this rescheduled until September, so she told me she would have her manager be in touch with me. They never called. I called back 3 more times over the next few days, left messages and still no call back. Bex finally called me back 6/4 (the day before my reservation) left a voicemail and said she's sorry the manager never called me but is going to cancel my reservation and will not be giving me a refund. I understand this is my problem not theirs and I can completely understand from the business side not able to lose revenue and not being able to do a full refund, although this should be disclosed somewhere, but to not even give me a voucher or allow for a reasonable reschedule is just bad business. And for management to not value customer service enough to call me back but to just cancel my reservation without my consent (for all they knew I could've still been on my way tomorrow) with no refund... it's just shocking to me. When I am actually able to reschedule our family vacation, and was planning to extend our 1 night in kanab for a multiple night stay, I will most definitely not be booking with this hotel or its affiliates. We stayed at the quail park lodge for one night and the property is super cute. It's down on the end of town, but walking distance to every restaurant in kanab. The motel is old/retro and they offer bikes that you can ride, which I thought was cute! The price is right for the stay and the front hotel staff was super nice! We stayed here for three nights and chose this hotel primarily due to great reviews. The only 'Retro' qualities to this hotel that I observed were the bikes outside the office for guests and the lobby. The room was 'comfortable', but I would just say average in comparison to other hotels. The A/C Unit is quite loud. The 'Free Breakfast ' is a bagged breakfast. The pool was closed ( probably seasonal, as it is April), but weather WAS warm enough by now. On the positive side, all of the employees were friendly. The hotel appeared clean, and our room was clean. Overall, I think this property is overpriced. My biggest gripe is the $10.00 'Resort Fee'. Resort fees always bother me but there are some places that you just have to accept this practice ( Las Vegas, Palm Springs). I don't know why this motel would charge a 'Resort Fee'. I did a price comparison with the only other hotel we have stayed at in Kanab ( Hampton Inn), and depending on the date, Hampton is sometimes less expensive. If you are looking for a hotel in Kanab, and this hotel is less expensive, I would say it's a good value. read more

Quail Park lodge was a great find for our stay in Kanab. The hotel is owner-operated, along with the Canyon Lodge up the street. Because of Covid, all staffing (including check-in and food) is out of Canyon Lodge (also a great looking place to stay). For our family of 5, the one bedroom suite worked great. The beds and pillows could be more comfortable, but everything else was fantastic: We loved the quail-shaped pool, fire pit area, retro vibes, and complimentary bicycles. We all enjoyed the food, the friendly service, and the central location, too. The owner even worked with us to cancel our last night so that we could alter our trip last-minute. read more

This was our first time in Kanab, we had friends with us from Germany, so our entire family was with us all 10 of us in 3 rooms. When we drove up we were kinda like wondering what we booked. When we were shown our rooms we were pleasantly surprised. The decor was wonderful and very retro, we actually had two bedrooms in two of our units, it was super clean, the staff was super nice and very helpful. We enjoyed the pool, and sitting under the trees enjoying the great weather. We will definitely stay here again, very pleased with how this place was. The only thing I would suggest, it fresher items for the breakfast. Otherwise this place deserves way more stars! read more

The location is ideal for visiting Bryce Canyon, Zion, North Rim of Grand Canyon and even Lake Powell if you don't mind a little drive (the drive is gorgeous). Quick stop at the bird....Quail Lodge. First appearances go a long way and although it's a throwback/retro motel, it definitely borders on the edge of just old rather than retro. They have done some surface level clean ups to give you the illusion things are cleaned up it's still a bit outdated in many aspects. The room was clean and the beds were comfy. The pool was not ready yet which is understandable given the April time frame but no one actually works there. You have to go down the street to the mother ship to get keys, ice, tissues, etc which makes you feel a bit step-child in the vacation selections. I stayed here on 3/18/18, just one night, largely based on the good reviews here. I don't agree with them. It is certainly fine for a motel, but there isn't really anything exciting or quirky about the place except for being able to borrow bikes. The inside is a normal motel, not really modern-looking or exceptionally spotless. The outside is not tremendously attention-calling. And the heating is done by a VERY loud and unreliable window unit. We had to sleep with earplugs just to stay warm inside. It only gave heat when it was set on max and then we woke up a few times to turn it on and off when it got boiling and chilly. And the extra toilet paper roll was hidden away a little too well, especially when we didn't start off with a full roll. I thought it was a little pricey given that we could have stayed in a homey B&B for almost the same price. The beds are decent and the breakfast the next morning, which is at another sister hotel you have to walk a block or so to, was pretty good. It had the best breakfast sausages I've ever had, so that was nice. Oh and we had a really cute note welcoming us and telling us the weather for tomorrow, so that was nice. read more

The room was clean and what we needed for the night. The boyfriend and I were road tripping and did not think we would make it in time for check in with the long trek and time difference. We called the front desk and they were very accommodating. The parking lot gets tight at night but it's manageable. You can check out their bikes and ride around the neighborhood. It is such a nice community surrounded by beautiful mountains. Check out the gorgeous view in the back. There is also a nice and peaceful park right next door with some benches to enjoy lunch at. Breakfast was included in our stay and consisted of small muffins, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, granola, fruit salad, coffee, and juice. This was a great stay people heading to Antelope Canyon/Horseshoe Bend the next morning. Quail Park Lodge is about an hour away from Page, AZ. read more

Complimentary breakfast is provided across the street at the canyon lodge which is self serve buffet style with amazing food and plenty of options. We were so lucky to discover this old timey motor lodge. The price was right for a two bedroom suite, and the service was so helpful. I loved the little continental breakfast in the mornings, and the staff were friendly. The room was clean and comfortable - just what we needed to maintain our budget and be pretty close both to the parks, the BLM office in kebab, and hikes in the area. Stayed there for 2 nights with my wife, Tim Jr and my parents. This a a renovated classic old school roadside motel. I had to say that the pictures of the lobby were not helpful - it is coolly decorated, whereas our rooms were not. They were clean and comfortable (once you got the ac adjusted correctly) but not as well designed as the lobby. The property is well located - near a lot of attractions, and Kanab is a very manageable town. The pool is not spectacular but it is cold great for those 95 degree days) and it's fun to sit in it and watch the traffic go by. If you have children be aware that it gets deep very quickly. I also have to give a shout out to Travis and the other guy that worked the front desk. While they are not tour guides, they live in the area and had a lot of useful information. The real amazing part of the area for me were the rock formations on Rt 89. They are under the auspice of the Bureau of Land Management and so you can just park your car and wander around. Travis even gave me his cell # because he was afraid a city slicker like me would get stuck in the sand! read more

I stayed at Quail Park Lodge for 6 nights during mid-July while I volunteered at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. The room was very comfortable and it allowed me to take dogs from Best Friends for sleepovers (Please note: there is a shorter list of BF dogs that are available to go to this motel -- this limitation is placed by Best Friends, not the motel. Best Friends does this to ensure the safety of the hotel managers' own dog and cat, who are sometimes allowed to roam free on the property. Still, there are many very excellent dogs on the list -- if you are volunteering at BF, you MUST do doggy sleepovers. You won't regret it and the dogs really benefit from the interaction). There was a microwave and decent-sized refrigerator in the room, as well as a flat screen TV. One nice addition would be a coffee maker or some instant coffee packets for use with the microwave. I am a very early riser and the coffee provided in the office isn't available until 6:30 AM. If you are an early riser as well, you may want to bring some coffee singles with you. I didn't get a chance to use the pool, but it looked great and was very clean. The free wireless internet service is very fast and reliable, but not secured. Jim, the manager, is a great guy to shoot the breeze with. Also, Rena does an excellent job keeping everything neat and tidy. read more

I am definitely a fan of Quail Park Lodge! I had seen the rooms prior to the new ownership, and let me just say that the new owners have done an amazing, fantastic job! Everything is very clean and updated, and has a cute retro flair. It may not look like much from the outside, but appearances are deceiving. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean, and are pretty quiet. You get a bit of noise from outdoors, and can sometimes hear the showers running in the other rooms, but you definitely can't hear your next door neighbors (unless they're outside, in front of your room), which is nice. There's a cute little pool, seats outside of each room, and a nice little patio area with plenty of seating and a fire pit. Breakfast is offered in the morning, starting at 7am, and includes fruit, pastries, hard boiled eggs, sausage/cheese bites, coffee, and juice - not a bad little spread. The rooms included a welcome note with area weather information, calming spray to freshen the bed linens, free Wi-Fi, and along with the usual toiletries in the bathroom were a shoe cleaner, air deodorizing spray, AND q-tips, which is not something you normally see in hotels, but they always come in handy when traveling. You could also use one of the on-site bicycles to cycle around town, if you were so inclined. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful, and when I thought I might be arriving late for my check in, they were happy to assist me. There was also a little reception one evening on the patio, complete with snacks and drinks and someone giving a talk on parrots...complete with friendly birds for us to meet! Between the cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, and all of the extra little perks, the Quail Park Lodge is a really nice place to stay while in Kanab, and I would definitely stay there again the next time I'm in town. read more

The room matched the pictures completely, which was pleasantly surprising. Very cute, retro look. They had bikes you could borrow if you wanted to bike around town, which wasn't listed when I booked the room, but was another pleasant surprise. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool was not functioning when we got here, but they were working on it. Since we were only here for one night, it wasn't a big deal. Conveniently located to several restaurants, which allowed us to walk to dinner, and the atmosphere was quiet. I had a fantastic stay at this cute little lodge! The rooms were neat, clean and stylish! Beds were comfortable, so I had a great night sleep. The breakfast was great, because it included hard boiled eggs. This is awesome for me since I don't get muffins or bagels. The lodge staff (especially Ashton) was friendly, accommodating and gave great recommendations of places to go and explore! This place was great. As soon as you arrive your greeted with a sincere smile and they immediately put you at ease. The rooms are super clean and comfortable. I came with my in-laws so you could imagine the anxiety, but the owner was righteous and comforting. The lodge is located just a few hours from the south rim grand canyon and other local national parks. If you are truly looking for a clean, relaxing stop during your trip out west this is the best spot in all of Kanab.
