I hired Purple Fig Cleaning Company to clean my 725 square foot space and was initially quoted $267.20, which already felt high for the size of the space. While the cleaners were mid-service, I received a text increasing the total to $332.24 plus tax due to "the level of dust buildup." I agreed to the additional charge on the spot because I assumed it meant I would be receiving a particularly detailed and thorough service. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I had paid for an add-on service to have the baseboards and blinds cleaned. After the visit, I noticed that one of our pull-down blinds had been pulled down and will no longer retract, and there were new marks on the bath mat. I initially chose not to make an issue of those items. However, I then realized the blinds had not been cleaned at all. When I called, I was offered either a refund for the blinds add-on or a return visit the next day. I opted for a return visit. When the technician left the next day, there was no indication that the job was incomplete. However, when I returned home, the blinds still had not been done. After following up again, I received a call from Natalie, the Director of Client Experience, who explained they do not clean mini blinds and apologized for the misunderstanding. While I appreciate the apology and the refund for that add-on service, it raises the question of why the technician left stating the job was complete when the service had not been performed. More concerning than the blinds issue was the significant amount of dust I continued to find in the days following the cleaning. Given the substantial mid-service price increase, I expected a noticeably detailed result. The level of cleaning simply did not align with the final price point. I shared photos and calmly expressed my concerns, hoping we could find a reasonable resolution. The only response I received was that they "may not be the right long-term fit," and when I requested a follow-up phone call, I was told they would not be scheduling any additional calls. I was nothing but courteous throughout this process and gave multiple opportunities to address the issues. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. read more

The purple fig is amazing. I cannot say enough great things about their service. In terms of promptness, they arrived early but did not knock on the door until the exact minute of my scheduled time (which I really appreciated working from home!). They were friendly and professional. They went above and beyond to make sure my house was clean from top to bottom. I wish I would have taken a "before" picture to compare with the "after". They worked until the very last moment of my scheduled time and I am SO pleased with the results! I have tried other cleaning services in Austin in the past and they don't even compare to The Purple Fig. It's apples and....astronauts. Also, they accommodated my three dogs and my work schedule with ease - asking in advance how they can make things most efficient for me. I really appreciated that. I highly recommend TPF. Purple Fig is awesome! I work in IT and I don't have much time to put in my fair share of the chores around the house. My wife is kept busy enough with our kids (1 and 4 years old) and is expecting another on the way. I decided that if I couldn't help out in person, at least my paycheck could. I choose purple fig because they have a solid reputation among my friends, and because they don't use chemicals that could harm my children. Everything from my initial questions and booking went so well, I really thought your company was too good to be true. I had the Purple Fig for monthly cleanings, and for my move-out clean when I left Austin. The Purple Fig were a delight to have - they were always friendly and very flexible about the cleaning. They were always happy to attack whatever problem I threw at them (including a terribly moldy bathtub I discovered after being away from my apartment), didn't mind switching their schedule to suit mine, and they did a great job making my place clean without the smell of industrial products - it still felt like home. We've used Purple Fig for about 4 years now and have loved them! The house always smells naturally clean. I love the feeling that the house is clean, but nothing is ever out of place. They even do small touches like putting out vinegar for fruit flies, sharing household tips or even arranging the stuffed animals on my son's bed. They are okay that our dogs are in the house while they clean which is really nice. Purple Fig's crew was very attentive to detail (using appropriately mild cleansers on sensitive finishes...for instance, keeping the patina on my copper sink looking nice while throwing in elbow grease to get stickier jobs done) and thorough (made sure all surfaces were well-dusted) while being time efficient (I once had another cleaner spend hours 'cleaning the blinds'). Great company- they arrived promptly and used all chemical-free products, which is really important to us since we have so many chemical sensitivities.
