Wine & charcuterie on a Friday when "Wine & Vinyl" is the vibe. Bring your vibyl records or play theirs.

Phenomenal selection, exceptional service, great vibe. I will come back again and again.

First visit to Purple Corkscrew was a success. I received a warm welcoming greeting as soon as I walked in the establishment. Being fairly new to the wine scene I was very appreciative of the knowledgeable owners. They offer wine tastings and also give advice on food pairings. Looking forward to attend the classes they will be offering this Spring/Summer.

What a great place to go and have an amazing glass of wine. Purple corkscrew is located in downtown DecaturOn College Avenue. Check them out they always have some sort of event that's going on on Fridays and Saturdays and it's a great place to meet new faces new people with positive influence. I would definitely recommend purple corkscrew, parking is a little bit tricky however there is parking on the street.

Kicked off my friend's birthday with a wine tasting at Purple Corkscrew this past Saturday afternoon. The place is a bit unassuming from the outside, but the inside is cute and cozy. When you walk in, you're greeted at a small counter and led back into a large, well-decorated room with a couple intimate seating areas. On your right is a large display case with all the wines for purchase (most were in the $30-$50 range, with some unique options). On the far back wall is a small bar, which is where the wines that you can taste are displayed. There also appeared to be a few other rooms with tables for larger parties, but we opted to stay in the main tasting room. Tastings are $15 for three 2-oz pours (I would have preferred six 1-oz pours for more variety, but the larger quantity is better for when you want to sit and chat with friends instead of standing at the bar). There were about eight wines to choose from when we visited: a prosecco, three reds, and a handful of whites. You can also purchase charcuterie plates to go with your tasting for ~$10 (but we were just there for wine, so I can't really speak to those). I think the best part about Purple Corkscrew is the service. The women working there when we visited (possibly some of the owners?) were all so welcoming and friendly. You can tell that they really love working there. Bottom Line: Cute wine shop, and with no wineries nearby, it's a fun place to do a tasting. Be sure to pick up a loyalty card, which rewards you with a bottle of wine for every 10 purchases made (tastings included).

Great selection of wines from Black-owned wineries. I was very impressed! Stop by on the weekend for the wine tasting while sitting in their cute lounge area. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines.

My honey and I really enjoyed our time here! We came in on a Friday night and surprisingly had the place to ourselves. It was perfect! The young lady that helped us with our tasting was friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is warm and inviting which is a great place if you want to have conversation. You can do a flight of 3 2oz pours for $15 and a cheese plate for $10. There is a free mimosa tasting on Saturday's from 12-2 I believe.

Mom came to visit and took her to my favorite wine shop.

One of my favorite wine stores. They have many weekly and monthly events. Great flights which you can pair with small bites. Currently, I am attending a 4 part wine series. Prices are on par with various shops in the metro area.

ATL Vineyard Express........Is it possible to give more than 5 stars? This was a surprise for me by…read moremy significant other "he received plenty brownie points for this oneJ". Oh what a wonderful surprise and experience it was........So let's just say that I was very stunned to learn that there were so many wineries in the state of Georgia. This is how my journey unfolded on this beautiful day; I will start with Tom Ward the owner....Mr. Wine Connoisseur himselfJ Very knowledgeable and full of wisdom beyond his years. There wasn't a question that I asked or wanted to learn about wines that Tom wasn't able to provide me with an answer for. Tom was friendly, kind, attentive and very accommodating. Once we got on the tour bus, filled with snacks, water, wine and movies I was like a kid on her way to her very first field trip. We made a stop at one of his pickup locations to pick up two additional lovely ladies. We stopped and had a celebratory toast to begin our wine adventure; it was amazing. From there, we drove to the first winery "Wolf Mountain Vineyard". It was cozy, beautiful, with great ambiance. We had a quick bite (very delicious) and of course several rounds of wine tasting. Then we were off again to our 2nd winery "Serenity Cellars". This in itself was an amazing experience. The staff was remarkable; there was a wide selection of wines red and white. I am normally a sweet wine drinker, but this definitely gave me an opportunity to expand my palate and gave me a better appreciation for different wines. Of course, I could not forget the beautiful young lady that serenaded us with her lovely voice. Lastly, our 3rd winery "Kaya Vineyard & Winery". This winery was a little bit more upbeat, much younger crowd, not as quaint as the other wineries but nonetheless still good. There wines were ok but didn't knock me off my feet. Yes, I still drank it.....all of it lol. The view was amazing, one of the most beautiful rainbows I have ever seen. It was just my luck because then the second rainbow came out; first time ever seeing a double rainbow. So I said all this to say, no matter your level of expertise with wines this is the tour for you. There is something for everyone. I bought several bottles of wine and have been enjoying some and put the rest up for another time. I am a light weight so on the way home I slept like a baby while everyone else enjoyed a great documentary on wines. I am actually looking forward to doing this tour again. Maybe in the Spring or the Summer. One of my best tours ever!!!!! I applaud the level of excellence received at ATL Vineyard Express.

The Great Summation: Save your money. The wine making experience isn't worth the Groupon or private…read moreclass fees, particularly since the owner can be rude and dismissive. For about $99 you can buy the wine kit and necessary equipment online. I saw some of the same wine kits online at Wal-Mart. You can also invite friends and split the cost. The Breakdown: I first bought the $99 Groupon for the wine-making experience. I thought that the experience would include making the wine from scratch, including squashing the fruit. However, it's not. It's from a wine kit that includes the wine, the yeast, and any juice used to sweeten the wine. The Groupon includes 3 classes with wine made from a wine kit chosen by one of the owners, most likely Martha. There are 3 classes. In the first class, you empty the wine from the kit into a barrel and add yeast. In the second class, the owner switches The wine to another barrel. In the last class, you taste and bottle the wine. The Groupon includes the bottles. The wine was bitter at first, but after it sat at home for a couple of weeks, it was decent. I had fun because of the other couple there. Martha lead the class, but she wasn't very engaging, outside of a couple of jokes. If you decide to buy a private class after using the Groupon, then you'll get $75 off the cost to make the wine at their shop; it's like an administrative fee. While you get to choose the kit, which ranges from about $100-200 (mine was $212), it doesn't include bottling, which is $1/bottle if you buy it there. You'll need about 28 bottles. During the last private class session, Martha was downright rude. She kept leaving for a smoke break. She also kept rushing my friends and me, which was rude considering that we were her first class for the day. Rather than fully explaining things, she kept saying that I took the class, so I can explain it. It didn't make sense for her to be so rude and dismissive, especially since the wine kits can be bought online and made far cheaper than what her store offers.

I honestly love Eddie's addict and can't wait to find other reasons to visit…read more I came to Eddie's on a dreary and kind of cold night so the outside was not opened which I assumed was the reason way, but I have some friends who say it's pretty great space to relax, drink a beer, and watch the show. So the venue itself is uber small, which is amazing. It's a great place to see an act for super cheap and in an intimate setting. There is seating which is mostly first-come-first-available. There are some areas you can reserve, but I believe you need to reserve the entire table which is not ideal for me since I came solo. I sat at the bar which was perfect for me and a great vantage point from the stage. I ordered a small snack and a beer and really enjoyed the concert I was there for. I thought the acoustics were good, the food was perfectly fine bar food and the beer was perfectly crisp. This is honestly a place I should be going more to.

4 star venue, 2 star experience…read more I love the idea of "songwriters playing original music in an intimate setting." No free parking whether you park on the street, in a lot or $6 for the DeKalb deck a few blocks (weekends included). Phone # is required for entry, not the Dice app which sold my tickets. Friendly staff, good acoustics and if you're early enough, you can sit on bleachers. They aren't comfy but the sight lines are excellent and it beats standing. The tiny tables didn't appear to be worth the extra $$ as they aren't elevated and you have to buy 4 seats. There's only enough room on the stage for the artist and their guitar. Son Little sounded great as always. Despite it being "a listening room" he encouraged the audience to sing and they did - loudly and off key. What ruined it for me is how short the set was. It's not the artists fault, but if they are unlucky enough to be the 7pm show, the next act is waiting to perform. Son's set may have been 45 minutes excluding the opener but he probably gave Candi Jenkins more time than she needed. I was disappointed after braving the cold, arriving early & paying $38 plus parking.. I know Eddie's Attic has history and it beats City Winery's mandatory minimum spend. But some artists are just better with a band and Son Little is one of them. Unless the late show last longer, I prefer standing room only dive bars like the Earl or Smith's Olde Bar for a real, 2 hours+ live show experience (band included). Buckhead Theater or Center Stage if I want to sit and be fancy. It's a no for me.
