Whoa, where is this place? That's what I was thinking as I was driving down a residential road and…read moremy GPS told me I was at Steelyard Coffee Co., but all I saw were houses. It turns out that, indeed, this coffee shop is nestled in a neighborhood. But if you look closely for a rusted-looking building that looks completely abandoned, then you will find Steelyard Coffee. It's hidden in plain sight. Once I got inside, I was delighted to see a warm and welcoming space, with a full coffee menu and other beverages, like tea and smoothies. I just wanted a little cup of green tea, so that's what I got, in a to-go cup. It was ready lickety-split. Steelyard has a few things to eat, like some cookies and muffins, as well as pans of baked oatmeal, parfaits, breakfast burritos, quiche and other breakfasty things. There are plenty of places to sit, and the decor is very farmhouse and rustic. It seems like a nice place to sit and work remotely or visit with a friend, but also a place where you can hit it and quit it like I did.

It's tucked inside an older industrial-style building and shares space with a couple of antique-type shops, so it's not somewhere you'd likely just stumble upon. The coffee was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. My wife ordered an iced "Reese in a Cup" and loved it. I went with a hot Cuban Kiss--a mix of cinnamon, vanilla, and white chocolate. It was good, but I'd probably try something different next time. Pricing was very reasonable compared to a lot of coffee spots these days. We also split a cinnamon roll that tasted homemade and was delicious. Overall, a great hidden gem and worth the stop.

D'Colombia Bakery is an absolute GEM of a find! Located in Ellhart, Indiana, this Colombian…read morerestaurant/bakery makes delicious food and I will definitely come back to eat there again! We found this underrated restaurant on Yelp and chose to get lunch here on a Sunday in October 2026 while in the Elkhart area because it was one of the few places that was open on a Sunday. The parking lot is a bit small, just FYI, but we squeezed into a spot as D'Colombia Bakery was very busy. Inside, the restaurant is small and clean. A little too clean, actually - there was a bit too strong of a cleaning spray smell while we ate. Whatever product they use to clean is waaaaaaay too pungent! Anyway, we were immediately waited on and while my Spanish is poor, we managed to order our lunch just fine (we looked at the menu ahead of time). My boyfriend got an assortment of little items for his lunch, including a side of maduro frito aka fried sweet plantains ($2), a pabellon empanada ($3.50), a traditional papa rellenas ($5), and a water. FYI, the papa rellenas tasted just like a shepherd's pie in a ball! The portion of maduro fritos was incredible for the price - I highly recommend getting it! I got a shredded beef arepa ($9) which took a while to make, understandably. My fast-eating boyfriend was all done with his food before I got my arepa lol. Poor guy. Maybe he should learn to eat slower? I also got a coke zero, which came in a can ($2.50). We also shared one pan de Bono ($2.60), a cheesy savory donut of sorts. A bit small for the price but tasty! Overall, I paid about $30 after tax and tip for a very delicious and filling lunch for two. 100% recommend!

Poor service, the cashier doesn't know what she is selling and making excuses! Lack of food…read moreavailability and plain and simple makes Colombians look really bad. The empanadas frozen inside, food is decent but disappointing, they have potential to be really good but no managing makes it really hard to stay ahead, hopefully they can make the change!
