Some of the front office staff come across as rude and act as if they run the place. I was promised that my order would be ready on 3/27, and while I understand delays can happen, the real issue was the complete lack of follow up. I specifically asked to be contacted--whether the order arrived or notand that never happened. I've been dealing with Edna at the front desk, and even after paying half of the total cost upfront, I still received no update. This is not acceptable customer service. These young office staff members would benefit from proper customer service training. Patients deserve clear communication, respect, and professionalism, especially when they've already paid and are simply waiting for the office to keep its word. Mathews

On one visit my wife was left in a back room for an hour and someone finally came back and said "Are you still here?" Last November they found a problem with one of my wife's teeth and said it need to be extracted and replaced with an implant: cost $8000. We trusted them and an appointment was set up with a visiting oral surgeon to do the work. He was extremely brutal and left the room without a word with her bleeding and the staff left to clean up his mess. We later found out he had knocked out a piece of bone from her jaw during the procedure. Several visits later and after multiple x-rays the oral surgeon determined the bone had grown back enough for the implant. But my wife was not willing to submit to his brutality and indifference. They then referred my wife to a specialist outside her office. The specialist took x-rays and determined that my wife's jaw was damaged to the point of not being suitable for an implant without additional extensive oral surgery - even if then. In fact, her mouth, tooth and jaw were so small that an implant was a questionable option to begin with. The specialist suggested a permanent bridge rather than an implant. We did some research and found a reliable dentist who performed the necessary procedure. But it did not end there. I decided to have an exam with the new dentist despite the fact I had a cleaning just a few weeks before. The exam disclosed that after more than 5 years of "care" at Shipp's office, I had gingivitis and was never told...

Just as everyone of these reviews below, I had issues with the billing and what my portion was as well. Plain and simple, they TRIED overcharging and/or saying our portion to pay was higher than what we knew it to be. Went round and round with Amanda (office manager)but I think we finally have it all straighten out. Amanda btw, is very approachable and though I know I annoyed her to no end a time or two, she was always cool, calm, and collective. Never once raised her voice and ultimately we got the issue ironed out. Just be SUPER careful when dealing with the bill because mistakes will be written off as "accidents". Look it over, once or 10 times, just to be sure. Now on to the dentist himself. AWESOME guy. Takes his time and makes sure you know what you are getting into. Explains it all in detail.Nice guy and simply does a good job. Overall this is a good dentist. They just have a long way to go when it comes to figuring out that they can not keep on trying to overcharge people. if the office's customer service would catch up with the awesomeness of the dentists here, they would stay busy. Word of mouth goes a LONG way, especially in a small town like Bee caves and Lakeway, I really hope they get it together because no one is dumb enough to think that all these reviews, all stating the same exact things were just "accidents". I am writing to share my concern about my recent appointment experience…read more I contacted your office because I needed help scheduling my dental exam and cleaning due to my limited time before travel. Instead of feeling helped or understood, I felt that I was treated in a rude and dismissive way, as if I did not understand what was being explained to me. Later, my appointment was canceled without receiving confirmation from me first. I understand that emergencies can happen, but I was not able to check my phone or email during the day. When I arrived at the office, I was again met with an unhelpful and rude attitude. Because of this situation, I lost valuable time and was left without enough time to schedule my cleaning somewhere else before my travel. This was a very disappointing and stressful experience. I believe no customer or patient should be made to feel this way. I hope this situation will be reviewed and that communication and customer service can be improved.

I arrived there today and was a bit anxious.. but WOW... I can't say enough about this practice. Here is why: 1. Great front office assistant; she got me in fast.. even though I wasn't an established patient. 2. I am a cash pay patient for dental work; they didn't abuse me; just charged me a fair amount for only necessary work. They told me up front what the charge would be and didn't try to destroy me financially. Honest! 3. Dr. Wood was my dentist; a female dentist with a kind heart, incredibly smart, understanding of my needs, smooth and steady hands... she worked meticulously to make sure no remaining decay was present; she got every area of decay removed before installing the cavity filling material. 4, ZERO.. absolutely ZERO pain. And afterwards; the tooth felt perfect in my mouth; no high spots, no pain: perfect install. She even had to remove two old metal cavities and reconstructed the entire tooth. I am delighted by the care I received here... from the front desk to the dental assistant Daniel, to Dr. Wood... thank you! Oh.. and I also had my 3yr old son with me. He was a good boy and they let him sit in my room and watch YouTube on my phone; they made everything easy. They even kindly removed my son from the room (with grace and care) when I had to have an x-ray.. careful to spare my son of unnecessary x-ray exposure. If you are looking for an exceptional dental practice, I would totally recommend this place. Zero Pain, honest, no unnecessary billing/procedures... just competent professionals that do a great job. As a result, I am sending my 82 yr old father here in 2 days for a chipped tooth. Why? Cause I know Dr. Wood will do another outstanding job for my family member at a fair price.
