On Sunday afternoon one of the toilets seemed to have a blockage. It wasn't until I plunged it a dozen times that I discovered the plunging forced nasty water into the tub in the other bathroom. I knew this was a bigger problem. My regular plumber told me they don't do sewer line clean outs and referred me to Pure Plumbing. My call went to voice mail but Mike texted to say he'd call in a few minutes. Long story short, Mike sent Nate, who arrived less than 30 minutes after my call. He assessed the problem, explained the process and gave me an estimate before any work was done. After he cleared the blockage 40' down the line, he waited 10-15 minutes while the water ran and everything got tested, cleaning up and remounting the toilet. The bathroom looked better after he left than it did when he arrived. He then spent extra time answering my questions about what needs to be done to keep this from happening again. We had a partial blockage in a pipe under the house that caused the kitchen sink to fill up when the bathtub upstairs drained. Yuck is an understatement. My many attempts to snake the drain myself only bought temporary relief, so I decided to call in a professional. I made an appointment with PPS based on stellar reviews on Yelp. Nate and Carl arrived and assessed the situation. Based on a visual inspection of the layout under the house, Nate recommended replacing all or some of the old cast iron drain pipes. He also found a leak under the downstairs shower we had no idea was there. The cost was more than I wanted to spend, but Nate explained the pros and cons of various approaches to remediation, and we decided on a partial replacement of drain pipes in the problem area. Nate, Carl, and crew returned a few days later, and completed the work within the estimated time. When the work was done, Nate verified that the drain was flowing freely. He also used their camera to show me the condition of the main drain line, revealing tree roots that had intruded near the street which might cause future problems. When and if this happens, I will not hesitate to call PPS due to their great service on this call. read more

My water main was leaking; it was a major job to replace it. Pure Plumbing had the best estimate by far and were quick to get started. They hooked up a temporary connection from the meter to the house even before work started the next morning so that I could have water. We had to have a drain cleaned out and a disposal replaced. Of course this happened on a late afternoon on a Friday before a holiday weekend. I called the office number at 4:45pm and Mike, the owner, answered! Not only that, but they had availability the next morning!! Austin showed up on time, with booties, and lots of knowledge. They are professional and friendly, clearly and consistently communicate, think on their feet, are respectful of personal property and make sure to leave things in the same or better condition as they were upon arrival. You get what you pay for--their estimates are not the lowest or the highest, but very reasonable and they do amazing work. The Full Backstory I've had ongoing problems with a backup in my 60-year old house when running the dishwasher or washing machine and have been told by multiple plumbers over the years that roots were the problem and that the main line needed to be replaced. Pure Plumbing Solutions (PPS) offered a free quote while others had a "trip fee". They informed me before making the appointment of any charges that may apply with difficulty running the camera through the lines. On the day of the appointment, they arrived a few minutes ahead of schedule and immediately found a usable clean out. Their initial evaluation determined that a blockage appeared to be near the property line. Everything was very clearly explained and they even showed me the line and blockage as they ran the camera. An intermediate solution was offered--installing a "2-way clean out with pop off plug" that would allow any future blockage to end up outside instead of inside. I immediately received an itemized quote from Mike. PPS was the ONLY company to offer an alternative solution that would be a fraction of the cost and take care of the immediate issue, while allowing further investigation. After receiving other quotes for the same work, all higher than anticipated, I called Mike because the quotes I received were $10,000 apart and I wanted to understand more about the 2-way clean out. Mike was very patient and answered all of my questions in layman's terms, so I decided to move forward with PPS. The clean out was installed two days later and, while running the camera, it was determined that the blockage was on the city side of the property line. In order for the city to clear the blockage, there needed to be a clean out at the property line. Again, Mike provided an immediate quote that included the on-property clean out, the property line clean out and main line replacement. I signed and they began work two days later. While there were a couple snags during the process, the team worked tirelessly--even in the wind and rain--to determine the best options to move forward and always communicated with me.
