Had foot massage at Pure Massage. I used the $23 coupon after the session but was surprised when the lady masseuse demanded that I needed to give her a $10 tip! The coupon I used didn't state that there is a minimum $10 tip. Also, I've been to other foot massage establishments but none of them specified a minimum tip. In fairness to Pure Massage, I did receive a good massage. My only issue is that they are requiring a $10 tip. read more

Been here a few times. By far this is one of my favorite massage place in the Oceanside area. This place stands outs because they listen. Everyone has different tolerance of pain, they won't argue with you and go with your level of comfort. The full body deep tissue was great, the place is very clean as well. Came here for a 1hr foot massage. It was $25. Shirley was awesome. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is on their feet a lot. Shirley was able to notice which muscles needed more attention and was able to get out all my stiffness. I have a lot of knots in my feet from being flat footed and Shirley was able to get them out. This is a GREAT massage without all the fluff. If you're interested in a good, Chinese style massage without paying for all the pampering, this is the place for you. I've been here multiple times and the massages here are great! I usually get the $25, 1 hour foot massage and it is super relaxing. They usually start out soaking your feet in hot water while giving you a little head and shoulders massage. Afterwards they dry your feet and massage them for awhile until you feel a warm towel on your legs. At this point you have roughly 5 minutes left and then you'll turn around for a little back rub till your time is up. The massages are excellent but from my experience only the owners speak English. I am a massage therapist myself and I received many massages before... This was the worst!!!I came in they put me in a "room" ( it's just curtains between tables). You can hear everything going on in the " room" next to you. Not very relaxing! They didn't ask anything ( like preferences, areas of pain, medical history). The guy just started working on me. I asked him to lower his pressure and it took me two times more to ask until he finally backed of a little! Really?! Then he started talking to a therapist behind the other side of the curtain, like they were having coffee. I felt like he didn't pay any attention to me! But that was not all! You won't believe it, but his phone was ringing and he picked up and kept on rubbing my back with one hand! Are you kidding?! I was shocked!!! Never ever will go back there!!!! Yesterday, my husband and I went in for the one hour deep tissue massages. That atmosphere was a little different than I expected, but I thought the price reflected on that. Each person goes into a personal curtained of area, and gets undressed. In both of our rooms, there wasn't anything to cover up with. When I asked for one, the woman gave me a hand towel.... I went and asked for something longer, and she finally gave me a sheet. The massage was incredibly rough, and did not use any oil until almost half way through the massage. I have worked in a massage studio before and know that this is not good for the body. Too much tug and pull of the skin, and it isn't good for the muscles either. The massage was horribly painful, and I had to ask my person to lighten up. She left the room four times to go do things out front, and carried on a conversation with the girl in the next area the whole time. She also scolded me for being a walk in during my massage. She ended the massage early, and never worked on my hands or feet. It was supposed to be a "full body" massage. I left in a bunch of pain, and could barely lay down. This morning, I glanced at my back and I have several welts all over my lower back. I will be calling the manager today for a refund. :( read more

I have been twice, both times for a full body massage. The price is great...only $35 for one hour (so about $40 after tip). The first time I went, I really enjoyed it. The second time (last night), I had to repeatedly ask the lady to do it softer as it was getting really painful. Each time, she kind of laughed and said, "Too hard?"...like I was a sissy or something. She also didn't do my feet at all. I kind of feel like full body is FULL body, including feet, so I'm not sure why she didn't do them. She spent about 90% of the hour on my back (which is probably why it got so sore after a while). I may or may not return. The price is great but there are lots of other little foot massage places in the area that have just as good pricing to try out. I don't want to be mocked when I ask for a change. Also, there is a $1 charge to use a credit card...kind of lame. I called ahead both times and requested a female and they were able to accommodate me on fairly short notice, which was nice. read more

After reading the reviews I decided to try this place. I chose the hour massage. After changing my clothes, I didnt realize that a man was going to do the massage! I signed no paperwork and they didnt ask my name or my tenderness level! He came in after I took my clothing off and I had a towel on. He said hey lady! And handed me a face pillow. Needless to say I am very disappointed and I am actually hurting now from the massage. I told this man three times he was putting too much pressure and hurting me. The massage was hurting more than anything, I was almost in tears. I wanted the hour massage and had to stop him after 25 minutes. I couldnt take it anymore! I told him to stop and he left to the cashier and waited for me to come pay. He actually asked me how much I wanted to pay in total, hinting for me to tip him!! Well, I did tip him after all that. 6 hours later and my back hurts so bad. ;( I hope this review helps you. Make sure they understand your tender tolerance level and they speak and understand english to clearly understand your needs. I've been to many, many massage therapists and this is my favorite. All the massage therapists do an excellent job giving a very thorough and relaxing massage. I'm not the type that needs to "write down" or tell the masseuse my needs, I actually like that I don't have to do that unnecessary work. For $35 you really can't beat the price! If you want to pay $100 to be lightly touched, then do it. But for a real massage for a great price, Pure Massage is an excellent place!! read more

A good massage, only did 30 mins but felt very uncomfortable in the atmosphere. Looks like they have cameras in the corner front room and the back room. Way too hot in there, I was sweating the "therapist" was sweating, the face cradle was too deep so it's like trying to breathe under a bunch of sheets, "therapist" wasn't very good very jerky, rubbed legs enough to get lotion on but then moved on. Just a bad experience. read more

I'm very surprised to see all the high ratings here. We went to the new Oceanside location yesterday. This was THE worst massage I've ever had. Same for my husband. My masseuse left the room 3 times to run to the front desk. UNACCEPTABLE!!!! My husband's masseuse had extremely rough hands (how is it possible that a masseuse can have rough hands??) and we nickednamed him Godzilla. My husband said sandpaper would have been welcomed over the condition of this guy's hands. Small towel to cover up. Felt pretty exposed. Ok, I didn't FEEL exposed. I WAS exposed. She only used oil on my back and nowhere else. And no hand or feet massage to speak of. And that's the best part (for me). I had to ask numerous times to lighten up on the pressure. I did not relax for one second during my hour massage. Even though it was only $33 + $10 tip, it was a complete waste of money. Between my husband and I, we spent $86. Today, my spine acutally feels bruised. I understand that when they do deep tissue that one should expect some soreness the next day. But muscular pain, not bone pain. I can't bend my neck and actually had to take something for the pain. REEE-diculous. read more

This place is located close to my residence. I found a coupon and decided to give them a try. Beautiful establishment with wonderful atmosphere. The environment is so peaceful and relaxing. I have had both a foot massage and a deep tissue body massage (the best I have ever experienced). I had a girl named Summer and she gave the best foot and body massage (if you prefer a deep tissue massage that is or you might want to ask for a lighter massage). The people of so friendly and courteous. A good place to visit if you want a relaxing massage. Very clean place with relaxing sounds of water fountains. i walked in no appointment. 2 of the 3 were busy so i guess i got the manager lady. she takes phone calls while giving massage but i can't blame her, it's a small business. if you want something specific, you will need some sign language because english is limited. it's on you to be clear what you want. still a good massage! read more
