Really nice coffeeshop!!! Delicious flavors and lots of delicious food options! They air roast their coffee beans and it provides a delicious and unique flavor profile to the coffee! Very cute inside and since it's a little bit outside of the main downtown area, parking is free! (Yay) read more

Good brews and good vibes. Staff was great and the latte was strong and yummy. The selection of baked goodies (including GF options) and salads etc is impressive. Great place to chill with a large group or a solo pick-me-up. read more

I won't lie, I have not been a fan of the coffee, and I've been a few different times. Most recently, I've gotten a mocha, vanilla latte, and a dirty chai. The service is really friendly, so I was sad about it. Also, their new location is cute in the front, but dark and not very aesthetic in the back and the seating was oddly spaced from the tables (at the booths) or not very comfortable. I have only kept going because it's the only local place I know of that is open later than 4. read more

Stopped by Pure Bean while in Rapid City and was very impressed. The coffee was excellent, the staff were warm and welcoming, and the location itself was fantastic with a relaxing ambience! I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in RAP. Highly recommend this spot! read more

Quick Tip: Fresh-roasted beans, real espresso strength (four-shot lattes!), and Coltrane on the speakers--Pure Bean brews coffee with both craft and soul. Pure Bean Coffeehouse & Roastery... Fresh roasted, freshly pressed, and unapologetically well caffeinated--Pure Bean is the real deal - 4 shots in a 16oz latte? That's not indulgence, that's integrity. "Theme for Ernie" by Coltrane drifted through the air while the crema settled, and the young baristas moved like they actually care what they're crafting. Bauhaus-meets-mid-century-industrial loft vibe. Not crowded, not empty--perfect. No turntable or fireplace as others alluded, but vinyls on the wall whisper hope. Even a small stage promises future open-mics or mellow sets. Coffee: excellent. Scone: delish. Staff: knowledgeable. Atmosphere: inviting. 4.5 stars feels more right--half a star shy only because perfection should always leave room to breathe (& comes with cushier chairs and more outlets). I'll definitely be back. read more

Overall? Warm and welcoming, plenty of seating, and Wi-Fi for getting stuff done. The coffee though? yikes. The espresso in my Americano was burnt to the point of being undrinkable. The quiche? dry, bland, and oddly spicy in a way that totally clashed with the whole flavor profile. I would not return Parking? Street WiFi? Yes read more

We visit Rapid City a couple times each year, and this has recently been a favorite stop. In January, we stopped for coffee, a latte, a bagel sandwich, and a walnut roll. Everything was great. The service was kind and friendly, too. I love the environment in this place--it's a wide open space with plenty of nooks and seating areas to find a bit of focus. We will come back. read more

One of 4 coffee shops we visited while on our trip in the area. Got a cold brew and there was an off putting aftertaste, not sure if it was the water but it didn't taste good. Also workers weren't that friendly, no greetings when we entered. read more

I loved the environment, the friendly barista, the quality of latte and banana bread. Went there super early in the morning they had just opened at 7am, was their first customer. I sat there and enjoyed my latte. Had great experience. Highly recommend. FIVE Stars read more

Good coffee and a cool spot. One of the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had too! I got the Cardigan and really enjoyed it! The salt was *almost too much for me but it really worked well together. The servers were super sweet and happy to answer any questions. The shop is inside an old creamery, but do not be surprised they don't serve ice cream, like my husband was lol. read more

Located inside an old creamery I love the vibe this place offers. The staff were great and the crafted coffee on point. Plenty of space to sit and chat and plug your phone or laptop in and work or surf the webs. read more

When you go in, there is a dark hair lady who is very rude. I believe she may be the owner but if you're not ready to order the moment you go in, she is pissed at you and rude. The blonde younger guy who works there is very friendly and great staff. The coffee was good though. read more

Best cup of local roasted coffee!! I loved my cup so much I bought a pound of beans. Our barista was very nice and knew her coffee.

Very cute vibe with lots of seating. It was steam punk decorated. The barista was kind and helped me choose my drink. I had one of their summer specials which was a shaken espresso flavored with agave. It's an average price for a coffee shop BUT for a local coffee shop it's a good deal and great vibes. read more

I love finding local independent coffee shops on my trips. Yelp pointed me to Pure Bean near downtown Rapid City. This is a nice cool coffee shop in a hip part of town. Parking is decent although you may need to park on the street. This place is a nice upscale place to get you coffee and linger. The facility is in an old warehouse with nice windows and an eclectic decor. Pure Bean has a full coffee bar and lots of fresh made treats. Service was what you would expect with a gourmet coffee experience. I had a espresso and a lavender shortbread cookie. Both were delicious but it was nice to just sit and relax with the local cool people for a while. There are two rooms to sit divided by a nice fireplace. Seating is a little hard so lingering may take a strong midwestern body. I visited several places in the area and kept coming back to Pure Bean for the coffee and the experience. They have a few locations in the area, but this downtown one is pure cool and will instantly make you feel better even after a day of sightseeing! read more

I had their drink called the Rattler. It hit the spot and was exactly what I was looking for in a cold drink! I'm not a big fan of sweetener and was pleased with the perfect flavor of this drink. When I arrived the line was long but not because the drinks weren't coming out quick. I was greeted with a smile and a warm hello. Customer service was great and the atmosphere was five star as well. I will be coming back. read more

We always prefer places that roast their own coffee. Tried the Cardigan and Hepburn. Both were lovely. Strong coffee taste, yet very smooth as well. Good milk; they came in bottles, maybe local. As an aside, I accidentally dropped my coffee, and the staff were very kind to make me a new one. So sweet. :) read more

Average price for boutique coffee. Strong darker brew. Delicious! Helpful, happy, friendly staff. A 12 ounce bag of unground beans is a great souvenir to take home. The smell and taste will take me back to my trip's memories. Restrooms are small and even the men's room had a wait to get in. read more

I hate to say this but Pure Bean just wasn't a hit for us. Followed my gps but I just didn't think the building was very clearly marked. Drove around to the side of the building before I found it. Arrived about 9:15am on a Saturday. There was only one other customer inside when we got there. We ordered hot vanilla lattes and an iced caramel latte. Maybe we should have chosen a store speciality drink because they were just not good. Vanilla lattes had an off flavor. We only drank about 1/2 and then threw them away. My daughter had a caramel latte which was just mediocre. Service was ok but nothing over the top. Didn't really welcome us and seemed almost bored working there. With all the great reviews I was hoping it would have been better but I must have just chosen the wrong drinks. :( read more

Great coffee, roasted in house. We ordered the French press coffee and an Americano, perfectly brewed, no sour or burnt flavors. Highly recommend the breakfast bagel sammi, so filling and savory. Wow!! I honestly have never tasted coffee this good. I was amazed by the taste of this lattee! The service was good too, and the workers are all dressed nice, and they keep themselves busy. The espresso machines are not loud, and its a great place to stop and enjoy some amazing coffee and charge your phone if you are traveling! Pure Bean - Fat Red - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Rapid City, South Dakota

I had a latte - good quality espresso. Nice ambiance as well. However, they need to hire more help - two workers, one of whom appeared to be new (so maybe they are?), and a long line. Took at least 20 minutes to get two drinks. Also, they didn't mark the cups even though the drinks were different so we had to "figure it out ". read more

The pour over was excellent and it was so nice to step out of the car and smell the roaster going. They roast downstairs so you can smell it in street from the vents. Part of the experience. I'm hoping I have the time to go back before flying out. I can't speak for anything other than the pour over but I was very impressed! read more

Very cool vibe to this place. Set in what looks like an old warehouse/manufacturing building and they've kept the original brick and wood and added nifty retro/steam-punk sort of fixtures. Service was super friendly and very fast. Double espresso I ordered was so good I bought a bag of the bean blend they use in-house to make it so I could make my own at home. If I lived in Rapid City this place would definitely be my go-to. read more

Pretty good coffee but not 5 star. The environment is very cozy and cute! Nice staff.

Ordered an iced lavender latte 12 oz. The coffee itself tasted great. We originally were going to order a 16oz and asked if they could only do 3 shots instead of 4 but apparently that messes with the flavor? I then looked this up and found it to be false information. Overall, a cute coffee shop, service could be a tad better! read more

Came here today and ordered hot Chai Latte and hubs ordered hot peach latte. The chai seasoning was made in-house, not carton like other chai lattes are made from. Although made from scratch, was weak in flavor. My hubs thought the same of his. Otherwise, cool meeting place and nice staff workers. 3 stars only because the drinks were weak. read more

Passing through Rapid City on the way to Yellowstone and decided to stop here for a coffee break. Service was helpful when we had questions. She recommended the Cardigan as an iced coffee and boy I'm not disappointed. The biscuit sandwich was also delicious with adequate bacon There was a good amount of seating too with the cutest decor. Best iced latte I've ever had. Air roasted beans make a more full-bodied flavor. Great service and cute vibes!

Love this place! Been here two times and each time is just quality. The service is impeccable, when they recommend a drink you know it is going to be delicious. The hot drinks are served at the perfect temperature so it's ready to sip as soon as the mug touches your hands. The cold drinks are also very good for those hot days - the last time I visited I tried the iced orange mocha which hit the spot. This place needs to be on your list when you go to Rapid City. I suggest asking the people working there what is good, again, they won't let you down. Sit down and relax because this place is hip and you can read a nice book while sipping on a cup of coffee and people watching. Enjoy! read more
