The Açaí bowl was wonderful with blueberries, mango chunks, banana slices, strawberries, and coconut shavings. The whole thing drizzled with a nice honey coat. The bowl was so refreshing and tasty! The spicy pumpkin was festive with hints of cloves, nutmeg, and maybe cinnamon. Really good! The pumpkin with white mocha was a rich pumpkinny taste sensation. Yay! This coffee shop is the type that has a window on each side where you can order from. On this morning there was a nice lady working the window and we ordered 2 - 12 oz Americanos as well as a 24 oz Americano for myself. After waiting a bit for the coffee to cool, I was finally able to try it. The coffee here didn't impress me much. While it wasn't bad, it also wasn't a flavor that suited me. I will say that it was a bit on the lighter side and smooth without any bitterness. The bottom line for me is that I probably would not head back here again in the future. While there was nothing wrong with the coffee per se, it just wasn't for me.

tl;dr the extra-creamy ice cream delivers on both quality and quantity; don't be afraid to sample…read morethe more adventurous flavor offerings Compared to California, the Dakotas have far fewer premium dessert destinations. But some of the states' best ice cream can be found around Rapid City, South Dakota. Enter The Silver Lining Creamery. This small-batch scoop shop only has locations in the Dakotas. But don't count out the rotating selection of premium, handcrafted ice cream. Silver Lining is routinely ranked among the best ice cream parlors in the state. The Rapid City location is at the far corner of the Main Street Square, adjacent to the covered downtown parking lot. Countless metal tables and chairs are organized on the outside patio, and the flavor lineup is markered onto a stainless steel menu beside a seasonal service window. A bulbed "ice cream" sign sits above the front entrance. Inside, the queue twists along the curved counter. Merch shelves and a grab-and-go freezer are pressed against the exposed brick wall to the right, while a half-booth is tucked into the corner beside the side entrance on the left. The two-tiered ceiling is accented by a baby blue lighted strip, while a deep blue "ice cream solves everything" neon sign is displayed against the back subway-tiled wall. Ambient music plays lightly in the background. My group visited on a Sunday evening in late spring, and Silver Lining still boasted a sizeable crowd. The flavor lineup ranged from standard to moderately ambitious -- namely, Silver Lining offered a perfume-y sage-flavored ice cream. After sampling multiple flavors, my partner and I opted to share a triple-scoop in a waffle cone. The cone was dwarfed by the giant scoops; our staff member treated it as a personal challenge to see how much ice cream the petite cone could possibly balance. The high butterfat content was unmistakable -- the ice cream was eyebrow-raisingly creamy but not overwhelmingly sweet. My favorite flavor was the mildly mocha-y Coffee Toffee, while my partner enjoyed the true-to-flavor Butterscotch. Our final flavor, Circus Town (birthday cake ice cream with frosted animal cracker), was no slouch, either. The service was efficient and accommodating, and a monster-sized triple scoop runs $8 -- a bargain by big-city standards. I left feeling impressed by the portion sizes and the execution. For a sophisticated yet crowd-pleasing dessert option, Silver Lining is a solid bet.

I come here only because it is the closest coffee shop to my house and is conveniently located in…read morethe library. I have only had their coffee "shakes", which I would say are an attempt at a Frappucino. They charge more than Starbucks ($5 + tax for a 24 oz!), but are nowhere near as good. They add so much ice to them that you have to poke your straw around and "drink" it a straw full at a time. I usually give up and use a spoon or scrape it put of the cup with the straw. Speaking of the straws: They can't even be bothered with giving one to you. You have to get it out of a jar. They are cheap, skinny and flimsy straws. As i type this, I've been working on my drink so long that I can taste the plastic from the straw. They also don't accept credit/debit cards. Any costs associated with accepting these could certainly be paid for with part of the price of the drink. The one big positive is their baked goods. Cookies and brownies are delicious. However, this is a COFFEE shop, so I am basing my rating solely on the drinks I have had. I would much rather support a local business, as opposed to a national chain, but I'd choose Starbucks over this location any day.
