This coffee shop is the type that has a window on each side where you can order from. On this morning there was a nice lady working the window and we ordered 2 - 12 oz Americanos as well as a 24 oz Americano for myself. After waiting a bit for the coffee to cool, I was finally able to try it. The coffee here didn't impress me much. While it wasn't bad, it also wasn't a flavor that suited me. I will say that it was a bit on the lighter side and smooth without any bitterness. The bottom line for me is that I probably would not head back here again in the future. While there was nothing wrong with the coffee per se, it just wasn't for me.

Speaking of the straws: They can't even be bothered with giving one to you. You have to get it out of a jar. They are cheap, skinny and flimsy straws. As i type this, I've been working on my drink so long that I can taste the plastic from the straw. They also don't accept credit/debit cards. Any costs associated with accepting these could certainly be paid for with part of the price of the drink. The one big positive is their baked goods. Cookies and brownies are delicious. But don't count out the rotating selection of premium, handcrafted ice cream. Silver Lining is routinely ranked among the best ice cream parlors in the state. The Rapid City location is at the far corner of the Main Street Square, adjacent to the covered downtown parking lot. Countless metal tables and chairs are organized on the outside patio, and the flavor lineup is markered onto a stainless steel menu beside a seasonal service window. A bulbed "ice cream" sign sits above the front entrance. Inside, the queue twists along the curved counter. Merch shelves and a grab-and-go freezer are pressed against the exposed brick wall to the right, while a half-booth is tucked into the corner beside the side entrance on the left. The two-tiered ceiling is accented by a baby blue lighted strip, while a deep blue "ice cream solves everything" neon sign is displayed against the back subway-tiled wall.
