Per the instructions on groupon, I emailed Fran so that I could create a log in online but I didn't hear back from her so I called the office. Once my account was created, I was able to sign up for classes. I was informed before I took any classes I would need to take the Intro to Equipment class. Fran was the instructor. She was patient and helpful as it was my first time and I needed specialized attention. For my second session, I took Reformer I & II with Doreen. Foe my last session I took Tower with a substitute for Doreen. All the instructors were patient, helpful, and friendly. They ask if anyone had injuries and they walk around and if your technique is wrong they adjust and correct you which I greatly appreciated. The classes were challenging to me since I am not good at following directions. Also, if you don't remember instructions well, I recommend taking Intro to Equipment multiple times. I had to look around to see how to do things as I am a visual learner, not an audio learner. The facility is tucked away in the corner and is not visible if you are in the parking lot. Fortunately I saw someone wearing athletic clothes and followed them. The facility is clean and bright. There are two individual restrooms. There is a main room with cubbies. The reformer room also had cubbies. The reformer room was slightly warm even with ceiling fans so I dressed lighter the second and third session. I enjoyed my experience, but could have benefitted from more intro classes. The classes were much different than my normal cardio and strength training classes at my gym. The pace was slower and it was a great way to relieve stress. I highly recommend Core Fitness for Pilates.

I decided on the iRest Yoga Nidra Guided Meditation that was led by Lucy held on Fri, Sept 28. You register online and they send registrants a confirmation and reminder email. I was grateful as they mentioned that the gps address is 8950 Old Annapolis Road and that the building faces Route 108 and that parking is located behind the building. Yoga mats, blankets, and pillows are all available for the session. Lucy starts the class by providing background information and the process for iRest Yoga Nidra. Then she walked around making sure that each participant looked comfortable by the way they were laying or sat. For me, she suggested putting a the pillow underneath my knees whereas I had laid it underneath my calves. That made it more comfortable. Lucy then began by telling us to notice the sounds around us such as the class next door, traffic, etc. Then she followed by having us relax different body parts and concentrating on our breathing. I had had a very stressful and frustrating day at work so I was really looking forward to this session. Although Lucy was a wonderful facilitator I found myself distracted and fidgety. I could not sit still, focus, or relax. All the more reason why I need take more yoga and meditation classes. I was closest to the wall that was next to a class in the next room. I would have preferred if it had been quieter. It was a bit distracting. The room was a bit chilly but I didn't want to use the blanket they offer because I'm a germophobe and I don't know how frequently the blankets get washed so being chilly could be one reason why I wasn't relaxed. Lastly, my fellow yogis who were so relaxed that they were snoring. My attention ended up being focused on that. I definitely need more mindfulness in my life. It was a great experience nonetheless. I highly recommend that everyone give it a try and take advantage of the free classes when they are offered. Namaste.

Yelp is my Bible to new experiences so once you tell me Yelp is wrong- I mean simply change the details your business advertisement and whalaa=NO PROBLEMS or CONFUSION. I attended an intro class with the assumption that I would be able to take advantage of these offers. The only available classes are very early or very late, which do not fit most people's schedules. I scheduled a 2.0 class, but it was canceled by their staff. The front office said I must be assessed and approved by an instructor, even though I have experience in many advanced Pilates classes at other studios. I asked when the instructor would be available to assess me, and they said they were unsure of the next available time. They take your money without assessing you but limit your ability to attend classes in many ways. I tried to talk to their manager and waited for 2 hours with no response. The front office said she was in a meeting. However, when you see their studio, there isn't even a meeting room--big lie. A kind reminder: before you enroll at the Laurel location, check if you can find any available classes that fit your usual workout time. If you cannot find available classes, it might be better to try another location. Club Pilates is a franchise business, and its membership cannot be used at other locations. Mostly, you can only use your membership at one location, so be cautious before you enroll. I leave this review on 6/19/24. I attached their schedule in the next days, you can see almost nothing you can schedule.

You're basically running on a soft-surfaced treadmill and doing lots of different exercises using your own body weight, free weights, bands, etc. You will be harnessed in so you don't go running off of the front of the machine. You get a heart rate monitor when you arrive. This way you can monitor your heart rate during the work out. Your heart rate and your name will appear on a screen in the studio, along with everyone else in the class. The instructor is really like a coach. She will tell you and others to push harder if your heart rate isn't in a certain zone, but she'll also let you know you should back off if your heart rate gets too high. PACE YOURSELF! Or you may end up light-headed and nauseated like me! Lots of explosive movements. This is definitely a high intensity interval training workout. The greatest difficulty for me is following the routine, like in any fitness class. I'm just not very coordinated. The work out is only 30-45 minutes, which is also nice. There's plenty of parking, but it's kind of awkward. The building where this is located is kind of nondescript and old, but you will find it pretty easily.

Whether you are a beginner or you consider yourself a seasoned practitioner, you will definitely find a class that suits you. I love the beginner yoga class! The studio is warm and inviting and all of the instructors are patient. While they each have their own unique style, they all make the practice accessible to anyone, regardless of your skill level. During the pandemic, due to restrictions to in person classes, they have been offering virtual classes. I think it is awesome that they found a way to continue to offer yoga to so many people. In fact, it provides the opportunity for so many of us to participate that might not otherwise be able to go to the studio. Karen was extremely nice and was helpful by giving the few of us that arrived early the opportunity to get our nerves down and let us know what to expect. That one-on-one time with her was unexpected but very welcoming. She even brought in peppermint essential oil to help us with any potential motion sickness. The class had its moments where poses were a little difficult, but we encouraged one another and Karens support made a difference. There were poses that came effortlessly as well and overall it was a great experience. There was a group of friends there that enjoyed the experience and although the studio is not close by, I'll be inviting some friends to join me for the class in the near future.

The instructors are amazing, they help you with your form and shout you out when you're doing well in class. I also love their verbal encouragements like "you got this" "remind yourself why you showed up today"." Classmates are friendly and encouraging. My favorite format is Define. Very challenging, but I leave class feeling so refreshed and strong. My all-around strength has improved so much and I gained a noticeable amount of muscle definition. I'm so glad I discovered Barre.

The facility is massive -- it almost feels like a mall. There's a cafe, indoor pool, plenty of fitness areas, and spacious locker rooms. Everything felt very clean here which is a plus. The Sunday 10:45am vinyasa class was advertised as "medium heat" but it barely felt heated. The instructor wasn't my favorite and the flow felt clunky and disorganized. Her queueing wasn't very clear and if I were a newbie yogi, I'd be pretty confused. Most of the class was spent in child's pose or savasana and I would've preferred more time to flow and play. The studio itself is fairly small for the size of the rest of the gym. As a guest recently, I had to download the app in order to get my guest pass which was pretty annoying. I've never seen another gym do that and didn't appreciate the extra hoops to jump through. Overall, if this gym was closer and less expensive I'd consider it but for now, I appreciate the chance to be a guest here.

Machines are often broken and dirty, kids are CONSTANTLY running around unsupervised and playing on the equipment, and the gym etiquette has taken a severe hit. You see people filming, reading up multiple machines, sitting for an hour while scrolling, and not putting things back. I had to change my workout so many times because the free weights were missing entire bands of weights. Again, the staff is incredibly kind and nice. But the gym does not deserve the almost $200 a month price point. I would pay $40.

Kwame (owner) was the instructor for the class and he is awesome! he immediately recognized i was new and introduced himself personally to me. despite it being a group class, i noticed the individual attention he gave me; helping me with technique and form. at the end of the class he explained some of the membership options and was not a pushy salesman at all! this place has everything you need for an amazing workout and highly recommend!
