    I used to attend classes when the original owner was running it. It seems to me it is now less about community and more about business.

Per the instructions on groupon, I emailed Fran so that I could create a log in online but I didn't hear back from her so I called the office. Once my account was created, I was able to sign up for classes. I was informed before I took any classes I would need to take the Intro to Equipment class. Fran was the instructor. She was patient and helpful as it was my first time and I needed specialized attention. For my second session, I took Reformer I & II with Doreen. Foe my last session I took Tower with a substitute for Doreen. All the instructors were patient, helpful, and friendly. They ask if anyone had injuries and they walk around and if your technique is wrong they adjust and correct you which I greatly appreciated. The classes were challenging to me since I am not good at following directions. Also, if you don't remember instructions well, I recommend taking Intro to Equipment multiple times. I had to look around to see how to do things as I am a visual learner, not an audio learner. The facility is tucked away in the corner and is not visible if you are in the parking lot. Fortunately I saw someone wearing athletic clothes and followed them. The facility is clean and bright. There are two individual restrooms. There is a main room with cubbies. The reformer room also had cubbies. The reformer room was slightly warm even with ceiling fans so I dressed lighter the second and third session. I enjoyed my experience, but could have benefitted from more intro classes. The classes were much different than my normal cardio and strength training classes at my gym. The pace was slower and it was a great way to relieve stress. I highly recommend Core Fitness for Pilates.

While I had taken several Pilates classes before, I had not used a Pilates reformer until first visiting Embody Pilates & Wellness in 2018 - I might have been the only one in my first class who had zero reformer experience. Instructing a class with a wide variety of experience can be challenging, but Kristy and Jodie do it with ease and seamlessly offer modifications to make each portion of the class accessible to anyone. I try to go to all the classes she teaches because not only is she kicking my butt and making me the strongest I've ever been, there's just something about her that is so soothing to my brain. She's always excited to see you and she is so encouraging during the workout. It will be the toughest workout but somehow she makes it not seem so bad. It helps that she is either doing the entire workout with you or demonstrating so you know exactly what to do. I can't sing her praises enough! Definitely go to her if you're new to barre (or a pro at barre!). I use the "mind body" app to schedule all my classes (or just go to their website).

She was friendly and answered questions I had. -Sara was the instructor and great in explaining the class structure and reviewing proper form. Throughout the class she corrected my form which I appreciated so that I didn't get injured. Overall impressions: I thought the class was going to be a breeze but I was mistaken. My arms and legs were shaking and my muscles were twitching. I had to take frequent breaks and I ended up losing the ball and band for most of the class. As Sara said maintaining the proper form was most important. Who knew all the small movements could work all your muscles. Although I enjoyed the class, I prefer a gym that offers more variety of cardio and strength training classes. From the start, they did a great job making me feel prepared and welcomed. They provided clear, helpful information about what to expect as a first-timer and even what to bring--details that can make a big difference when you're new and unsure. This information is on their website but I also called ahead of time to verify. The studio itself is clean, fresh, and modern--an inviting space that feels great to work out in. The staff are quite kind, friendly, and well-organized. I appreciate how attentive and helpful they were during class. They gently stepped in with guidance when needed in a way that felt supportive --something I really appreciated. I've now taken two classes here: a reformer class and a hot Pilates class. Both were enjoyable in totally different ways, and I'd highly recommend trying both to see what works for you. Personally, I found a new joy with the reformer--it's such a unique and effective workout. But I also enjoyed the hot room, which offered an amazing sweat session and left me feeling less tense and well stretched from all the good blood flow. I'm so glad I started my Pilates journey here, and I definitely hope to return for more classes in the future!
