It's hard to find good gyms that challenge you, but Reflex is a great starting point for beginners and challenging enough for athletes looking to get back in the swing of things. I love the opportunities to go at your own pace and still hold yourself accountable. There's a good balance & the community built adds to it all. Every trainer knows what they're doing so you'll always have a great workout, and being able to use equipment while classes aren't going on is a plus. There's also a second floor with equipment and a sauna! As long as I'm in Maryland, this will be my gym home.

From the start, they did a great job making me feel prepared and welcomed. They provided clear, helpful information about what to expect as a first-timer and even what to bring--details that can make a big difference when you're new and unsure. This information is on their website but I also called ahead of time to verify. The studio itself is clean, fresh, and modern--an inviting space that feels great to work out in. The staff are quite kind, friendly, and well-organized. I appreciate how attentive and helpful they were during class. They gently stepped in with guidance when needed in a way that felt supportive --something I really appreciated. I've now taken two classes here: a reformer class and a hot Pilates class. Both were enjoyable in totally different ways, and I'd highly recommend trying both to see what works for you. Personally, I found a new joy with the reformer--it's such a unique and effective workout. But I also enjoyed the hot room, which offered an amazing sweat session and left me feeling less tense and well stretched from all the good blood flow. I'm so glad I started my Pilates journey here, and I definitely hope to return for more classes in the future!

It features tons of natural light overlooking the Fells Point area with waterfront views. Staff was friendly and check-in was quick and easy. They do provide mat or towel rentals for a fee so I recommend bringing your own. Loved that all the equipment, including a 10 pound ring weight, 3 pound pill shaped weights, and a band, was all set up at each spot prior to class. Mat spots were assigned at check-in but I think if you're a member through Pilates House, you get to choose your spot. The class itself was 45 min of full body heated pilates sculpt starting with some very intentional core work. I don't have a ton of experience with mat pilates (yoga sculpt at CorePower is the closest thing I could compare it to) but the queuing and breathwork at this class was definitely very new for me. The instructor did a good job providing visual demos however, I wasn't a huge fan of her teaching style overall. I think this is just a matter of preference though and I still loved the structure of class. Are my abs sore? Absolutely. It was a great workout! I'll definitely be back to try some more classes at Pilates House. The biggest downside is the parking though.

During our visit my son gave us a private tour of the new UA Global Headquarters near the Baltimore harbor. We started the tour at the visitors center and received some historical information about Under Armour, it's origin and founder. There were plaques and memorabilia of legendary athletes and celebrities that are sponsored by the brand. We then toured the performance center which includes strength and conditioning training, classes and equipment. The is an infrared sauna and recovery room which was designed with all athletes in mind. The design center was closed for visitors but Ben a generous E-Commerce employee took the time out to give us a personal tour of the indoor basketball facility, dining area, design studio, sample room, focus group area and what's next for Under Armour. I was so impressed with his knowledge and willingness to share the new releases for Black Friday. Which is going to be HUGE savings. There is so much science behind the brand with families and athletes in mind. We drove a few minutes off campus to view the new track & field stadium that will also be used for soccer and football. The track was bright red with hints of gray throughout. I can't wait to see my son race on this track in the future. It's scheduled to be completed in 2023.

The complex is very picturesque and can be distracting to workout if you are a UA fan. So, I suggest you get all your pictures out of the way before you workout. That was not hard for me though, because that I what I mostly wear anyway. Even if you don't want to or can't work out, just visiting the campus is impressive. It is a great location, right off of the Patapsco River and across from the wold famous Inner Harbor

I have been a member of several gyms, including multiple CrossFit boxes and yoga studios. I have participated in classes and on my own free weights. I feel like Patrick (XPF creator) has created a regiment that is challenging, but doesn't intend to cause injury or harm. He helps you to meet your full potential, and if you have injuries or sore areas, he helps to target those areas in stretching, foam rolling, and movement changes. I almost feel like I have a trainer and a physical therapist at the same time. All the trainers there are kind, helpful, and highly encouraging, and I have enjoyed every class. There are many options for people who are 100% new to working out and those that have a lot of experience. Classes such as Conditioning, which is a Prime workout, uses a lot of body weight and one arm/leg movements to strengthen your core and keep your body even. Metabolic Burn (Ignite) has a more circuit training aspect with intermittent cardio. Those who attend are regulars, and come as often as we do. I love it and honestly cannot get enough. XPF has a ton of different class times, as well as Yoga and Dance2Fitness classes. All classes have a group limit, and it is usually small. There are also options for Small Group classes, which is an even smaller class size where often the trainer can spend more time with you. I believe he even has 1 on 1 options as well. Honestly, if you are on the fence about this gym, trial it for a month (I think it's still $59 for the first month) and you will be hooked. I wish his program can follow me around everywhere I go!

Ita located in the circle area by Raw Juice. I could see parking to be a hassle as its tight. The gym is below apartments and surrounded by other shops. Once I walked in, I was greeted and as I am accustom to a norm of being provided with a towel or 2; I asked as I was provided and was told they dont provide them at this location. I then asked the direction of the locker room for women as this was my first time at this location. This is definitely new and updated compared to Reisterstown location but smaller then Padonia. I went to the locker room, changed out to gym fit and browsed the place to adjust for working out. Unfortunately, my brain didnt adjust well as thete arent towels nor mats. Its pretty small, and split level with stair master/treadmull and other machinery of the sort upstairs. The gym presented clean throughout as well as quiet. Im not sure if its due to it being 2pm. Needless to say, I did not workout as this gym is minimal with what Im use to receiving and wasnt prepared for this gym without the towels and mats I would probably only come if the others closed for whatever reason. So with that being said, I personally will continue wirking out at Reisterstown or Padonia locations.

One of my biggest complaints about my old gym was that it didn't have nearly enough treadmills for the size of the facility so I was often waiting for someone to leave at peak hours. This has never been an issue at Brick Bodies. I also love that the cycling room is typically open and available for use even if there's no class going on. The locker rooms are oftentimes clean and I love the lockers with built in locks -- no need to bring your own! I don't do any of the classes here anymore (mainly because I'm also a CorePower member and prefer their classes) but they offer a wide array for different skill levels. I took one barre class here but wasn't a fan of the instructor and the pace of the class wasn't intense enough for me. I would love to see towel service be introduced here. When I joined back in 2021 I thought the lack of towels was a Covid-era, thing but fast forward to 2026 and they still don't provide any. It's $50 a month ($25 every two weeks) making it a more affordable option compared to my previous gym.

If you have never tried Reformer Pilates before, I highly recommend rushing to sign up for a class!…read moreLast night, at the invitation of Yelp, I attended my first Reformer Pilates session at The Village Well Baltimore. The Village Well Baltimore is a very charming and clean studio, and the instructor is extremely motivating. There were some really cheerful products in the retail area, so I bought myself a pair of socks... Right now, my muscles feel as though they've had a massage; I'm experiencing a pleasant soreness and can really feel that my muscles have been worked. So, what exactly is Reformer Pilates? What makes it different, and what are its benefits? Essentially, it is a Pilates method that utilizes specialized equipment. Built around a unique spring-based mechanism, the Reformer machine works muscles in a versatile way and is suitable for individuals at any fitness level. Fundamentally, it promotes body flexibility, engages all muscle groups, improves balance, and facilitates fat burning. It aims to alleviate muscle, joint, and back pain while enhancing flexibility and coordination. It helps reduce spinal issues, strengthens the pelvic floor muscles, and tones and shapes the body. It increases muscle density and improves mobility, helping to prevent pain in the shoulders, back, and lower back. It engages sluggish lower abdominal muscles, boosts concentration, and regulates breathing rhythms. It also corrects posture and issues like slouching. In short, you notice your muscles working from the very first session, and with continued practice, you can see the body toning and lengthening. By the way, did you know that Reformer Pilates was originally developed by Joseph Pilates during World War I to aid in the rehabilitation and recovery of soldiers?

We started off with some bootcamp moves (burpees, push ups, crunches, jumping jacks oh my). I haven't done a bootcamp in forever so I was surprised I could keep up. After the warm up, they went over the boxing movements and stance until everyone had it down. Next, they split the very large class into two. One half went downstairs to box and the other half remained upstairs to continue to the bootcamp. Ropes, weights, kettle bells and medicine balls. My favorite were the weights as I felt like I finally had a chance to catch my breath lol. Eventually, we switched places with the group downstairs. Time for Baby Mayweather to come out. There's latex gloves for people to wear if you plan on using the gyms boxing gloves. Great way to maintain hygiene as your hands do sweat quite a bit in the boxing gloves. Punch punch punch, jab, uppercut. We also did some sprints and push ups once again. Back to punch punch punch, pretend that's your ex that broke your heart, jab punch uppercut. Class ended with some fun exercises and gift giveaways. Overall, I loved my time at Knockout. Would definitely be a place I would frequent if I lived closer.
