I usually don't write reviews, however; I felt this was necessary. I will give Pure Barre credit for their challenging and consistent workouts. However, for the price that clients, like myself, pay (up to $225 a month) the service that we receive is subpar. What really is really irking me is this email that went out to all clients today. Although I agree with the principles in the email (i.e people should use proper hygiene and shouldn't and bring food to class) I think the method Pure Barre used is very unprofessional as they are singling clients out who are paying a substantial amount of money for this service. Pure Barre Westford/Burlington should treat clients better as there are a lot of boutique non-franchise studios popping up that offer more variety and better service! Servicing your clients come first.

A very disappointed ex-client
Hello all!
Now that summer is upon us, we just wanted to take a few quick seconds to remind you of a few of our studio etiquette rules to make the studio experience more enjoyable overall for everyone!
1) Socks MUST be worn at all times and must cover the ENTIRE foot (including all of the toes). "Toe socks" are permitted however they need to be the kind with fabric that fully covers all of the foot and toes. We cannot make exceptions to this under any circumstances for hygiene reasons.
2) Only WATER in spill proof containers is allowed in the studio (no colored beverages are permitted). You may leave your Gatorade, coffee, Crystal Light etc out at the front desk during class to be picked up afterwards. The same goes for food. (True Story: someone brought an egg sandwich into the room recently at one of the studios and the entire room smelled like eggs for the whole class...which is great if you like eggs, but if you don't....well that's a rough thing to have to smell for 55 minutes)
3) NO CELL PHONES are permitted in the studio during class. Please remember that they must be stored and kept away in your cubby with your belongings at all times. It is distracting to you, your classmates, and to your teacher to have cell phones in the studio so we do not allow them in the room with you. Also, when storing your phone away please be sure that it is on SILENT so that the class is not disturbed (though we seriously loved the client that recently had the "Thong Song" as her ring tone - epic choice, whoever you were!)
4) Please do not chew gum during class. Aside from this being a serious choking hazard (side note: properly doing the Heimlich Maneuver can break ribs - and we do not want to have to break anyone's ribs!! Have you ever had a broken rib?? It's AWFUL!). Plus, it gets stuck all over the trash cans and has even ended up on the carpet, which is pretty gross.
4) All classes start on time and once a class has begun, late entry is not permitted under any circumstances (you guys are pros and know this one by now but it couldn't hurt to mention it). Also, please stay through the entire class to the stretch at the end. This ensures you properly cool down after working so hard and minimizes disruption to your classmates and teacher. If you need to leave early as a one time thing, of course we understand but discuss it with your teacher before hand to formulate a minimally disruptive plan.
5) This one is super awkward but needs to be said so here goes... please always do your very best to ensure that proper personal hygiene is followed always but especially during these warm summer months. This means always wearing clean clothing to class, bathing regularly, and making sure to apply deodorant or antiperspirant before class as necessary. The room gets warm from everyone working so hard and we have close quarters - please just be mindful and respectful of your fellow classmates and teaching staff. (Also, we know that nobody WANTS to be the smelly kid in class).
Thank you so much for taking the time to review these! We are looking forward to an EPIC Pure Barre summer with you all!!!
Love,
