I've never enjoyed working out as much as I did here, and it completely changed how I think about fitness. The small class sizes make such a difference you really get personalized attention. The instructors take the time to give helpful corrections and make sure you're moving safely, which is something I haven't experienced as much at other studios. I've actually been able to apply what I learned here to other workouts, and I can see a huge improvement in both my form and results. Some of my favorite classes were Flow 1.5 and Control 1.5 (I only wish there were more Control 1.5 classes on the schedule!). The instructors Ahram, Jennifer, Bethany, Rachel, and Samantha are all AMAZING. They each bring so much energy, encouragement, and knowledge, and it really shows in every class. Bella, the studio manager, has also been incredibly kind and helpful, especially when it came time to cancel my membership. One of the best perks for me was the variety of class times offered throughout the day, which was perfect since I work from home. The only thing I'll note is that if you prefer morning classes, they can fill up quickly, especially with certain instructors. The membership is definitely an investment, but for me, it was so worth it to learn reformer Pilates in such a welcoming and supportive environment. Overall, I had such a great experience at Club Pilates Burlington and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn Pilates in a fun, motivating, and safe space! Hopefully I'll be back soon through drop in classes on ClassPass!

I appreciated the facilities, and the way that the classes were able to flex when the pandemic struck. I gained strength and flexibility, and my health overall improved. However... and it's a *big* however... something odd happened, twice. An instructor mysteriously disappeared, without warning or explanation. I don't recall if I was directed toward a different class or not; I think the class simply dissolved. Around 8-ish months later, it happened again with a different instructor. This time, I recall clearly that a new instructor was quickly "given" the class, but she seemed visibly shaken by her weird, sudden introduction to our class, and the class was never given an explanation of what happened that made any sense. Following this, I reached out to EBP and then located and reached out to one of those instructors and got some insight into their situation. Based on what I learned from the two interactions, I ultimately decided that I no longer wanted to give money to an organization that I couldn't trust to treat its employees, or patrons with as much respect as I felt like they or we deserved.

However, it didn't work for my husband and myself, who despite being a little overweight exercise frequently. The studio proceeded very cautiously with us. We were told that we needed to learn all the moves before we could do anything that would even slightly challenge us. The problem is that the exercises were expensive and took time. And by doing them we weren't doing other exercises that really do challenge us (in our case yoga). After 7 "introductory" lessons with still no plan to get us to a point where we would have even mild muscle fatigue we decided it wasn't worth it.

I get my butt handed to be every workout, but I leave every workout feeling better about myself…read more The instructors are really good about correcting you when you're not doing something correctly. The workouts are challenging, but I always leave with a sense of accomplishment that I made it through the class. The studio is in a great location, very easy to find. It's within walking distance to the mall, and it's located in a busy little complex. The classes can get pricey depending on the package you choose, but I think it's worth it. It's a great workout, with friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

Response to business owner…read more Catie I took 11 classes at your studio, it wasn't just based on today. I would like my unused classes to be refunded as I mentioned in my review. Thanks but no thanks to the coffee, I very much doubt you want to have a meaningful conversation based on your response- you are clearly just worried about the optics. Original review: I get quintessential New England vibes here- surly and cliquey, it's like they missed the memo that being cliquey and mean is no longer considered cool. The owner is definitely the reason (based on a few interactions or I should say few instances of largely being ignored by her ); I strongly believe studio owners set the tone for the way their employees need to treat their clients and I can tell you that every time enter the studio I feel like I need to kiss someone's ring. Reminder: I pay you, I don't need to also cater to you. FTR I have not one time been impolite to anyone here. I walked in today to find the front desk girl ignore me (not new, that's customer service here at least for me. I am a specific demographic in case anyone's wondering... i.e. not white) to continue her very important conversation about Botox with....was it the instructor? There are some amazing instructors here- Grace M and Lauren F are the absolute best. Others - money down the drain. If I have to constantly look around the room to catch on to what's happening, am offered neither form correction nor modifications (I have neck issues and am also postpartum, not that anyone cared at the studio!) then I can just watch a video online. I patronize 4-5 other studios in this area, where they treat me respectfully and like a paying customer should be treated. I bought a 10 class pack with every intention to give them yet another chance but I am not going to twist myself into a pretzel to attend these classes, I'd rather go to a space with good vibes. I am not going to hold my breath for the owner to do the right thing here but I have a glimmer of hope she will refund me the remainder of my money and put some deep thought into how she runs her business. PS Please save yourself the effort of copying and pasting some nonsense of how you are an inclusive studio.

The teachers are wonderful and there is a wide array of classes available based on your abilities. I have a few favorite teachers and I go to their classes weekly. I've tried other Pilates studios before but find club Pilates to have better equipment, their teachers to have longer training and the classes to be designed to meet you where you are while helping you improve. The location is so easy to get to as well.

It was clear she was annoyed that there were 4 new members in her class. She actually started the session without even informing us that it had begun. When I politely said, "Oh, I didn't realize we had started," she snapped at me, saying, "That's the way I teach my class... THEY have all been here before, you need to keep up." I was stunned, and if my friends hadn't been there, I would have left right then and there. Things only got worse from there. At one point, Colleen publicly ridiculed my friend for not knowing a particular move, making her feel extremely embarrassed in front of the entire class. It was completely unprofessional and unnecessary. To make matters worse, after the class, I tried to voice my concerns to the manager, but another member interrupted our conversation. This person told me we had no business being there and that Colleen had informed the regulars to slow down because new people were in the class. Then, as if things couldn't get worse, this person literally challenged me to go outside and fight over a PILATES CLASS. Absolutely absurd. Needless to say, I will NEVER return to this location, nor will I attend any class with Colleen as the instructor. Her rude behavior set a negative tone for the entire class, and it's clear that her attitude trickled down to other members as well. We left that day having lost all interest in returning -- and that's four clients lost in an instant, plus three others who had planned on joining the following week. To top it off, not once did anyone from the studio reach out to apologize for the instructor's behavior. This experience was completely unacceptable, and I'm extremely disappointed.

Finally made it to the 100 Club! And they rewarded me with special sticky socks! Woohoo!…read more I love PB Harvard Square. This studio, in particular, is open and bright. I have taken classes with Amanda, Michelle, Hilary, Angela, Liliana, Steph, Julien, Nada, Olivia, and Khrystyna. They are all very good instructors! Some instructors give more hands-on corrections than others, which is totally fine because some days I just won't want to work as hard. The classes are costly. If you are a Harvard affiliate, the MAC/HEM also offers barre (under group fitness) classes for a much more affordable membership price. The link can be found here, https://recreation.gocrimson.com/fitness/schedules The Harvard Barre classes are less intense and slower-paced when compared with Pure Barre. I went there for a year but ultimately started looking for specialty barre studios. I went to a class at Harvard Barre & Soul, the pace was good, but the studio was too stuffy/small to me. I also took an Intro class at The Bar Method. I didn't like how the music was more in the background, and the instructor calls out your name over the mic to give corrections. I also went to a Barre3 class but felt more like a yoga + cardio class than a barre exercise. I have to say after 100 classes, there are some movements and forms that I am still trying to get used to. There are a couple of positions that I absolutely do not like (e.g., flat back chair pose) and try to cheat my way through. If you want to get a good idea of what to expect at Pure Barre, check out its Foundation class on YouTube. If you are new, just know that you will be sore everywhere on your body for 2 -3 days after your first barre class, the key is to go back and get used to the routine and exercise. Even though I have taken the Harvard Barre classes, it still took me about 3 or 4 sessions to fully get familiar with what to expect at the class here. I normally wear sticky stocks because it is highly recommended. I have also seen other people wearing normal socks and they seem to be okay. There is no shower here (though I don't typically sweat too much after Barre classic, Barre Empower is a different story!), and only one changing room with one unisex bathroom. I also like the Harvard Square studio better because it is comparably less crowded than its Boston location. There are classes here with 20+ people say for a weekend morning, but other lunchtime classes are usually around 5-10 people. I'd highly recommend this location if this is convenient to you!
