It's been awhile since I have taken my dogs to this groomer, but I'm so happy with our current…read moregroomer and after talking with her, we both agreed that I should leave a review so that other potential clients can be aware of the experience I had. I have two Westies and brought them to this location maybe 2-3 times before making the decision to look elsewhere and change groomers. Finding a groomer was hard as I started looking during the start of the COVID pandemic. When I arrived to pick up my dogs, without notice, they added an extra charge of $30-40/per dog, due to them being "difficult". I asked them what that meant, and asked them if they were biting at them, and they said no. One of the groomers did have some scratches on her arms, but didn't go into details on what happened. This place accepts anywhere from 6-8 dogs at a time, and my only guess was that maybe the combined noises from the blow driers was too much for my two dogs. Their haircuts were fine, but overpriced for the end product. I am completely happy with the current groomer we go to in WSP - Wiggles & Wags. It is a smaller location, and that could have been just what I needed for my two dogs. Leah and Alex clearly have had a lot of experience. I was concerned dropping them off after the experience at Haute Dog, but when I picked them up, they told me that "they were great - no problems". I couldn't believe my ears. I shared my experience at Haute Dog, and they said that is not the experience they had. My concern for Haute Dog is the well-being of dogs that may have special needs. My suggestion is that they get some employees who can think on the spot and find new ways to make dogs feel safe as every dog is different and has different fears or anxieties. When I picked up my dogs from Haute Dog, they could not wait to get out of that space and were shaking. Because of COVID it was another barrier that left me with many questions why my dogs were in the state that they were.

Each time I've dropped my dog off it's taken about 1.5 hours until I get the call to come pick her up, so I think they start on each dog right away but I'm not 100% sure. We always book one of the first appointments of the day, so that might factor into it, too. She always comes home smelling so fresh and clean and looking prim and proper. They also always put a cute little bandana on her. The staff seem so friendly and caring, and I trust them with my pup. They offer your typical grooming services (bath, hair, nails, anal glands, etc,) but also offer more unique services like hair dye and styling. Can't recommend this small business enough!

The night before the appointment the groomer called and cancelled, stating that I should call back and reschedule-probably take at least another month to get in. Fortunately I ran into one of our regular groomers, that had left, at the For Pets Sake within a couple of days of the cancellation. I followed him to his new shop and both dogs now go there. Wendy's didn't want my business anyway. We'd only been regular clients for seven years.

When we came back to pick him up, there was this "hot spot" under his chin/neck area. When I brought it up with the staff at pickup, they weren't even aware of it. The lack of attention to detail on my pup is concerning as you could tell it had been festering for a few days. I hate that I am now left with this uncertain and uneasy feeling about his care there. I was very impressed and happy with my experience of taking Obedience Level 1 training at the…read moreBloomington Obedience Training Club. All of the trainers are volunteers, most have been teaching for many years. It is very obvious that training us humans and our furry companions is their passion. During each class we had a primary trainer and 1 or 2 supporting assistants. This was amazing as their 1 trainer/assistant per 3 or 4 dogs was helpful during the exercises because we always received 1 on 1 tips/advice. I noticed in the reviews comments about the arena being hot during the summer....yes, during mid-summer it gets warm as there is no AC....this isn't a big corporation out to make a profit, this place is all dog-loving volunteers. However, even during really warm August days, there were many fans and we were encouraged to take water breaks as often as needed. If you have medical concerns, then taking classes September through May could be a great option, as their classes are year round. Another reason I specifically chose this club is that they offer more than just obedience training, which will allow my dog to continue to grow and learn in a friendly and now well-known environment. Thank you to Alysha, Sarah and Aria for the great classes! Happy to have graduated from Obedience Level 1.

No frills, but solid training and very helpful staff.
