We love Wendy's! We've brought our cockapoo here three times now for grooming services and they've done a great job each time. We've booked Grace each time as the groomer. Each time I've dropped my dog off it's taken about 1.5 hours until I get the call to come pick her up, so I think they start on each dog right away but I'm not 100% sure. We always book one of the first appointments of the day, so that might factor into it, too. She always comes home smelling so fresh and clean and looking prim and proper. They also always put a cute little bandana on her. The staff seem so friendly and caring, and I trust them with my pup. They offer your typical grooming services (bath, hair, nails, anal glands, etc,) but also offer more unique services like hair dye and styling. Can't recommend this small business enough! read more

Our regular groomers had left Wendy's and apparently they had been short staffed. The soonest I was able to get an appointment was six weeks. The night before the appointment the groomer called and cancelled, stating that I should call back and reschedule-probably take at least another month to get in. Fortunately I ran into one of our regular groomers, that had left, at the For Pets Sake within a couple of days of the cancellation. I followed him to his new shop and both dogs now go there. Wendy's didn't want my business anyway. We'd only been regular clients for seven years. read more

I would give them half a star due to the fact that whoever cut both of my dogs hair was bad with the female dog she just needed a trimming and she was shaved and for my male dog not only was he shaved I admit that he looks good but the fact that whoever cut his hair not only gave him anxiety but they shaved who knows how many times his testicles that his skin was red and for days he couldn't fall asleep, I caught him severa times closing his eyes trying to sleep but because of the pain he couldn't and instead he started running up and down, his leg was shaking from the pain, I understand that he had a lot of hair and some knots but this is not the first time that he is like this after winter, this is the first time that he comes home with anxiety in pain, unable to eat , afraid, after taking him to a groomer. This was last week and all this days I thought that he was going to heal but he didn't my daughter took him to animal emergency and referral center today 3/26/25 where he was checked and they found multiple cuts how in this earthy hell are you going to do that and release him with a smile pendejos idiotas how would you like it if it was your dog or better yet your own skin, God is merciful and he is the only one who will take care of my Dog and this situation, next time be more careful if you call yourself professional , for sure I will never set foot on your place. and don't reply by saying that his hair was bad and impossible to fix. don't you use scissors water, (brain) etc and better yet don't you use ointments on dogs after you do this damage. read more

They do a decent job. Admittedly I have a pretty large golden retriever who can be rambunctious, especially if you point the blow dryer right in his face. They had to call me to assist in finishing his grooming. He'd been to other groomers and now goes to another groomer without any problems. This never occurred with the new groomer. read more

Great experience from the initial phone call! We brought our 18 week old Coton de Tulear in for his first groom today and we couldn't be happier! Very caring staff who was very focused on his well being for his first time. Apparently he rocked it and he looks, feels and smells divine. The little bandana is a cute touch. The shop is easy to find and there is street parking aplenty! I had called around to feel out a handful and a half of other groomers and this place gave me the best impression. So happy that impression followed through. If every groom there is this awesome we'll have found our puppy's forever groomer. Puppy tested, mom and kids approved. Thanks Wendy's Doghouse! read more

Well, this used to be a place I'd proudly bring our dogs and I'd know they'd treat them right. Right down the street even! No longer is that the case. Aside from the confusing scheduling issues with Wendy herself, and needing to be rescheduled 4 times (!), they butchered both of my dogs grooming . Each was just straight up shaved when they needed to be hand stripped and then on top of that, one of them came back with terrible razor burn near his genitals. Would rather not leave a crappy review but very disappointed with the service here now. Definitely looking elsewhere. read more

Brought my puppy in there for a nail clip. What a mistake! When I called the guy told me $12, when I got there, they said they didn't know who I talked to, but it was not right. Then the guy with the bandana scarf around his neck, scared me. He shoved a very long , sharp, scissors in my face and said this is what we use to cut with! She needs to be able to sit still ! She needs to come here and watch these other dogs and see how they behave! These scissors are very sharp! She needs to know how to sit still. I said, " she's a puppy, it's her 1st time, you should be able to groom a pup without scaring her. I left ! My neighbor had a similar experience there. The dogs in there were older and show or purebreds. That's what they are used to, I'm guessing. read more

I have been a client of Wendy's for more than 10 years. I was looking for a groomer for my Old English Sheepdog when I moved back to Minnesota.Otis was a client of John's for years. As Otis began to age he was groomed by John and another groomer to limit the amount of standing . I had come to the conclusion that grooming was becoming more of an ordeal for Otis who was then 12 years old . John validated that in a very professional manner. Calli, my 3 year old Sheepadoodle now goes to John. They know dogs, dog behavior and will provide honest feedback. I'm glad I waited in that parking lot years ago to see who got into van with Wendy's Dog House advertising on the side. They're a wonderful team. read more

I have now brought my cockapoo to Wendy's Doghouse three times and will never bring my dog any where else, I love this place. The environment (for both pooch and owner) is welcoming, the people are very professional and very good with my dog. They go through exactly what I want and take notes, and also look at the notes from what they did at the previous visit. I also like that the appointment time they give is when the dog gets groomed. This means that the dog is not in the kennel freaking out for hours before the groomer gets to them. They are also good at communicating with me how the dog acted and what he liked (the massage) and what he didn't (teeth brushing). Two paws up for Wendy's! read more

I take my dog here frequently and I have never had a bad experience. They're friendly, knowledgeable, and very good at what they do. They may be a bit more expensive than Petco, but you definitely get what you pay for. To top it all off, when my dog went missing last summer and I posted a flyer on their door, I received a call from the owner just as I was walking in the door at home to tell me she'd seen my pup and she gave me the number of the fellow who had him. Great people, great business! read more

Wendy's does a great job. I've been taking my dogs there for three years and am always happy. It's a cute place and I know my shih tzu will be treated well and come out looking and smelling fantastic. Once I got a phone call from them asking if I lost my puppy! Someone in the neighborhood brought a lost dog in and they called all the grey shih tzu owners they knew until they found the person. Great service. The only downside is the high price. I took my dog in today and the bill came to $71! This is for 16 lb dog. Lots of hair but still.... no extras other than the anal excretion. read more

Wendy's Doghouse is the quality, honest kind of business I wish I could walk into on a daily basis. We have a cat who has a physical handicap, can't clean himself as well as an otherwise able-bodied cat could, and gets mats pretty badly. After years of trying to brush him regularly, shaving him has proven the best option (for him and us) and as we just moved into town we needed to find someone new to do it. Wendy's was recommend by our new vet and I couldn't have been happier with the referral. Wendy was super friendly, was as concerned with a safe and well-done job as I am and her experience was evident in the way she was able to shave a scared and squirmy cat. The end result was perfect and I left happy not only with a job well done but having had an experience myself that left me comfortable and confident with my pet's care in her hands. After finding Wendy, I can't imagine going anywhere else. read more

Took my baby here for his spring de-shedding. They did a great job on getting him clean and shiny. There are a few drawbacks - it cost twice as much as taking him to Petsmart and they only accept cash/checks. but...I do have to say they gave my dog more attention then Petsmart does. read more

I really struggled with writing this because I prefer to only post positive reviews - but its more than a year later and I'm still upset so I've finally decided to share my experience. I brought in my cat to get groomed after speaking directly with Wendy. She said she only grooms cats after hours so they don't get scared by the dogs. So when she said I could come by at 4 p.m. on a weekday I thought maybe she was closing early? Unfortunately she did not close early and there were lots and lots of dogs. Not just in the back, but coming and going with their owners in the front where we were set up. Wendy had me hold my cat while she cut her hair and with all the commotion my cat was really freaked out. I'm angry at myself for not stopping the whole thing and leaving, and even more angry that Wendy didn't do what she said she would. I decided not to get my cat groomed this year and instead we are keeping the door to the basement open so she can stay cool there. read more

We've been long, long time customers but I'm leaving now after several bad customer service issues. Feels like my groomer has gotten so busy (popular) he's lost site of service, listening to the customer. Came across very arrogant to me, like I don't need your business so feel free to leave. So after using Wendys for the last 20 years I'm gone. read more

Wendy and her team are amazing. They are very kind, thorough and gentle. There's a reason they book out weeks ahead! Totally worth the wait.

We had about a year and a half of good service with our dog here. One day our groomer made the decision our dog needs to be shaved. It took 6 months to grow back. We talked with the owner she assured us it was a one time mistake and wouldn't happen again, today it happened again and we will not ever go back. On top of it all I had to hear I don't know what I'm talking about and that his expertise trumped our arrangement to never shave our dog again. read more

I was caring for a client's dog and decided Friday afternoon that he needed grooming before i dropped him off Monday AM. Every place I called was booked, as expected. Wendy's was the only one that offered to put me on a cancellation list, and stayed in contact with me over the weekend. Turned out we were able to get in Sunday afternoon. The groomer did a great job at a very reasonable price. I really appreciated the customer service extended to me. read more

I am going to all on aspects give them a Five. I have been there four times now with my dog, and they call back right away, the service I have includes a de-shedding deal, that really lasts. They seem like complete dog-lovers there, with very kind folks. Tried alot of dog groomers..some seemed to terrorize the dog, these folks seem like they love the dogs, and the dog is not nervous or pooping out nervously on the way home. Price is average for all services I use on a big dog, maybe I'd suggest a punch card for them, if you use them 5-6 times you get $20 bucks off or something. But overall, really would recommend them. read more

I took my dog here got the first time, and asked for a trim in certain places. Seems like the grommet didn't even listen. It seemed like all he did was blow dry him and call me to come and pay $60. Then he says to me that for $5 more he could have done a haircut. Definitely will not recommend to friends and family. read more

I have a very sensitive but friendly cocker spaniel that desperately needed a makeover. I brought him to Wendy's and could not be happier with the result! I love that when I walked into the small space, it was very quiet. No barking dogs "in the back", no scary blow dryers whirring. My dog wasn't exactly excited to be there, but that was to be expected. John was very nice, listened to what I wanted for my boy's cut, and two hours later I had a handsome pup again! Will definitely be back and recommend to anyone! read more

Love the service and after a visit my dog is so soft and fluffy I love it. I feel like they do a great job. I have a long haired Dachshund and she just needs a little trimming and they do a great job. I would have thought this was easy to do but I have taken my dog to other places and they have hacked her hair so bad that my 7 yr old nephew could do a better job so it is an art. The prices are not low so I do baths between visits but I love the great job they do so I will keep going back! I gave 4 not 5 stars just because it is rather expensive read more

Five enthusiastic stars for Wendy's Doghouse! We've brought our little Maltese, Hopper, to Wendy's for at least five years. Hopper is very little and wiggly. We are so happy with Wendy's doghouse. We have an uncommon breed of dog, the affenpinscher, and their grooming is different from most breeds. We tried a number of groomers that were closer to where we live and even after a little instruction and the assurance they were excited to work on a new breed of dog, our 2 kids always left looking like a shitz tzu. We found Wendy's online and made the call. BEST CALL ever, its how we found Mark. He does such a wonderful job with our 2 kids, he is kind, and caring and really has great attention to detail. We really appreciate the effort he puts into making our dogs look like the breed standard. He is a gem and we highly recommend! read more

I brought my 10 month old cavalier mix to Wendy's and couldn't be happier with he experience. I wanted to get her in that day and they put me on a waiting list and then called and fit me in when they had a cancellation. Wendy was very friendly and Amy talked with me about exactly what I wanted for my dog before taking her back. She did her haircut exactly how I asked. My dog has never looked so good! I have known Wendy and staff for almost 20yrs. She has taken care of my std poodles who were in the confirmation ring, kept up my std. poodles in puppy show cut until they were ready for the ring and all has gone Beautifully. Not only do I feel very confident in her great techniques in grooming, blowing out, and scissoring she is very professional and kind to all of our dogs. I highly recommend her Cindy Trosen Sundet, DDS read more

I had tried several other groomers before trying Wendy's. I love them and my dog looks amazing. The other places had a hard time with my little shih tzu since he barely sat still. Wendy's groomers say that's normal for a young one and know how to deal with it. Yes its not cheap but if you want cheap go to petco and get their level of service and quality. I have had a great experience every time and my dog is treated well and looks great. Highly recommend! read more

My husband and I recently moved back to Minnesota from Virginia. We brought our two adorable Havanese dogs with us that we got in VA. I've never cared for a pet in Minneapolis, so I didn't have a lock on grooming places. One of our dogs is very sweet and well-adjusted, Seamus. The other, Kiwi, is a puppy mill rescue with all the anxiety and mistrust that entails. She's a sweet girl, but being with strangers is difficult for her as is all the noise and tugging that comes with grooming. Well, after seeing that Wendy's gets amazing ratings on another ratings website (the one you have to pay to join for a year) I decided to give them a try. I called and talked to Wendy on the phone, I described my little girl's difficulties to her and thought that having her "brother" with her would help. Wendy made an appointment slot where they could take both dogs together so they wouldn't have to be separated to assuage my sweet 'fraidy dog. When I got there, Wendy sat down with me to go over what I wanted done for both dogs and introduced me to Leah the groomer who would work on Kiwi. I liked that I could meet the groomer ahead of time and describe my pet's quirks. I dropped them off at 11:30 AM today at by 2:00 PM, they were calling to say both dogs were ready to go. When I got there, both the dogs looked fantastic. The cuts were top notch and well groomed overall. Kiwi made it through her entire groom without a problem. Leah said that she was gentle with Kiwi and took her time. She said she could tell if she pushed or rushed Kiwi that it wouldn't go well, but Leah took it easy and Kiwi made it through. Any business or groomer that will be patient and loving enough to comfort Kiwi when she's afraid to help her get through the grooming process gets a lot of points in my book. Working with fearful animals is difficult and can involve lots of struggle and biting if the worker isn't careful, but Leah at Wendy's did an awesome job and Kiwi even wagged her tail at Leah a little bit in the end - which if you know anything about puppy mill dogs is a huge deal. I've only been to Wendy's once but I would definitely take my dogs back there. Both dogs came to $113 before tip. Is it kind of a lot of money? Yes. But I wouldn't trust my special needs dog to a big box store. I want the kind of personal and patient attention Wendy's offers and I'm willing to pay to get it. read more

Our two old, long-haired dogs look AND feel like puppies! Great job, very satisfied. We usually wash and groom ourselves, so this was a little splurge and TOTALLY worth it. They trimmed them all up, which we never have done before. Less hair, less vacuuming, more happiness. read more

I have taken my dog to Wendy's three times. Every time, Wendy looks at me (as if sizing me up $$) and then decides how much she is going to charge me...before she even looked at my dog. We have paid between $70-$100 for basic grooming services on our doodle. Our dog has never come in matted so I am not sure why the price changes...seems shady. Also, grooming services are on an ala carte scale. Why not sell a package deal for shampoo, cut, nails, etc.? That way we know what we are getting every time! The first time we went in, Wendy groomed our dog. I have to say, she looked fantastic! Our dog has never looked so good. We were sold. On our second trip, I assumed Wendy would once again be grooming our dog. Instead, one of her employees groomed our dog and when I got home I noticed that her ears were still dirty and nails weren't clipped and shaped like last time. I was upset since I had left a nice tip assuming the work I had paid for was to the same caliber as the first time. Still, we went back and on our third and final trip another employee groomed our dog and again something was forgotten even though I paid for everything to be done. You also have to walk through piles of dog hair to pick up and pay for your dog. I am allergic and do not appreciate having huge clumps of hair sticking to my shoes and pants just to pick up my dog. Yuk! If I am paying nearly $100 to get my dog groomed, everything better be perfect! We will never go back. Have had two great visits to Dig It Dog Grooming in Roseville since leaving Wendy. read more

We brought our English Springer Spaniel to Wendy's Dog House to be groomed before a special event. I wanted my pet to be clipped in a spaniel clip and they did a beautiful job. His coat is soft and shiny, his ears cleaned, and his teeth were brushed. Not only does he look fantastic, but they care about the dogs. The facility was neat and clean, and the crates were large and comfortable. I would recommend this grooming salon to anyone. read more

Finally, decided to give our 11 year old Border Collie - Golden Retriever mix a professional grooming. What a difference! Her coat is so soft, fluffy and shiny. Initially hard to let go of her signature "feathery-look" for the trimmed but what a difference in the amount of dead leaves and debris she brings in from outdoors. She has a new youthful look - she seems to feel it too. Wendy's Doghouse is a friendly, professional, caring place to bring your pooch. It is obvious they took their time to do a very polished trim and brush. read more
