One is a 65 pound labradoodle and the other is a 15 pound poodle. Penny asks what you want and then does what you want and I just asked for general grooming for poodles and labradoodles including a bath, nail clip etc. When I picked them up they were happy and looked great. Penny really knows her stuff. I used to go to another well rated groomer on Yelp but recently my dogs came home with bloody paws and were crazy the rest of the day. Going to Penny's is like taking my dogs to someone's house. As I write this my dogs are snuggled up to each other and me and content. I hesitate to send in this excellent review because it will just make it harder to get an appointment with Penny! I am so glad I found her.

I have two Westies and brought them to this location maybe 2-3 times before making the decision to look elsewhere and change groomers. Finding a groomer was hard as I started looking during the start of the COVID pandemic. When I arrived to pick up my dogs, without notice, they added an extra charge of $30-40/per dog, due to them being "difficult". I asked them what that meant, and asked them if they were biting at them, and they said no. One of the groomers did have some scratches on her arms, but didn't go into details on what happened. This place accepts anywhere from 6-8 dogs at a time, and my only guess was that maybe the combined noises from the blow driers was too much for my two dogs. Their haircuts were fine, but overpriced for the end product. I am completely happy with the current groomer we go to in WSP - Wiggles & Wags. It is a smaller location, and that could have been just what I needed for my two dogs. Leah and Alex clearly have had a lot of experience. I was concerned dropping them off after the experience at Haute Dog, but when I picked them up, they told me that "they were great - no problems". I couldn't believe my ears. I shared my experience at Haute Dog, and they said that is not the experience they had. My concern for Haute Dog is the well-being of dogs that may have special needs. My suggestion is that they get some employees who can think on the spot and find new ways to make dogs feel safe as every dog is different and has different fears or anxieties. When I picked up my dogs from Haute Dog, they could not wait to get out of that space and were shaking. Because of COVID it was another barrier that left me with many questions why my dogs were in the state that they were.

And she cut him at Least 6 places big cuts, didn't bother mentioning the cuts when picked him up. He has been wheezing non stop since appointment. He used to love groomer but he is seriously traumatized by this visit he's shaking hiding under bed and not the same dog. It also took much less time then normal and was clear she just cared about getting off work for day. I hope he's back to normal soon.

They were supposed to be open until 8 and i called repeatedly to speak to a manager and when you select to speak to a manager the voicemail isn't even set up. Each time I've dropped my dog off it's taken about 1.5 hours until I get the call to come pick her up, so I think they start on each dog right away but I'm not 100% sure. We always book one of the first appointments of the day, so that might factor into it, too. She always comes home smelling so fresh and clean and looking prim and proper. They also always put a cute little bandana on her. The staff seem so friendly and caring, and I trust them with my pup. They offer your typical grooming services (bath, hair, nails, anal glands, etc,) but also offer more unique services like hair dye and styling. Can't recommend this small business enough!

There was a $15 up charge for matting to which the groomer Elizabeth would not share where the matting was. He was combed out the night prior, so I do not understand this. His round face was only round on one side and straight up and down on the other side, had to put him back on the grooming table to miss several spots on all four legs and underbelly. The dog was not blown out, and unfortunately, my black work shirt was covered in hair upon leaving the store.
