I never had a bad experience here. I got my first dog here she passed away when she was 17. I finally decided to get a new dog and went back here. I have a nice sweet puppy who is happy and healthy. He was a great addition to the family. The staff is helpful and the cages are always being cleaned. They make sure you sanitize your hands before entry. They do let you interact with the puppies. I have to say they do sell well behaved dogs here. They are crate trained and I feel like they are even potty trained because my dog was trained in no time. Ok, how do I even begin to tell you about this nightmare?? This place should be closed and they should be fined!!! My brother bought a morkie from this place it had its issues but nothing like what I'm about to tell you. First like other reviewer's they told us $750 for Morkie and Yorkies over the phone. When we get there of course they are telling us the dog my wife loves is $1400. So I figured what the heck she loves the dog let's get it. Worst mistake of my life!!! First understand that this guy sent us home with antibiotics!!! And lied to us saying because "he's a puppy he needs it!!" Which I should have known better why are you sending a puppy home with antibiotics if it's not sick??? Clearly he knowingly sold me a sick dog! Exactly 2 days later we take him to the vet because he's acting extremely lethargic and has a hacking cough all night. The Vet gives him anabiotic's for an upper respiratory infection and of course gives us an unfit for sale document. Not only did he have an infection but he was anorexic and dehydrated. Two more days later his cough is worse we take him back to the vet they took an x-ray and we find out he has PNEUMONIA!!!! Now I am ready to take the dog back for a full refund however the problem is and this scumbag knows this, my wife and kids love the thing. So now he's giving us a hard time paying for vet bills. Wants us to go to HIS vet for free however I live two hours away in South Jersey so that's not gonna happen. I had no choice but to file a complaint with the New York State Attorney Generals Office. I don't care I will sue him if I have to. This place needs to be shut down!!!!! ----------------------------------------------------- UPDATE! Our puppy lived only two years. He developed a form of cancer called lymphoma. We took him to 3 different Vets and they all said he's way too young for this and that it's almost unheard of. I purchased my two Yorkies here, they are the love of my life and are still alive. I have a 16 1/2 year old that I purchased there in March 2003 and a teacup Yorkie who will turn 13 this year which I purchased there in October of 2006. Horrible horrible horrible. Never do business with these guys. I love my baby puppy, but the way the management treats you is disgusting. 1) My dog was supposed to come with shots, but his shots came without PROPER paper (aka there was no signature from a licensed doctor and in NYC, it is MANDATORY to have proper papers) and he was given his shot much earlier than puppies can have their shot. He was 3-4 weeks old when he got his first shot and according to AKC, puppies should have their first shot by week 6-8, so the shots he came with was not effective at such a young age, and I had to start over with his shot. I asked for compensation for the first shot or proper paper signed from a licensed vet but he (I believe the owner) just hang up the phone and didn't deal with it. 2) I took a fecal test for my pup (I really recommend everyone who bought their dog from this store to do the same) and he was tested positive for giardia parasite, which means he have a parasite from contaminated water. My vet said its probably because he comes from puppy mill, and I strongly believe that too since I took the test one week after I got him, and I don't think the NYC tap water contains giardia parasite, otherwise the city would be bankrupt by now. 3) I bought a water bottle from them, and it molded. I asked for a refund but the said they wouldn't gove it to me. Conclusion of my long experience with Puppy Boutique, I still love my dog, but I regret buying it from these people. The female workers are trying to be nice, but you can tell they get annoyed at you when you ask questions, which is ironic because a puppy purchase is not like buying a bag or a clothing, you want to know everything before getting a dog, but these people have no interest in dogs except for your money. And the male worker, he is the worst person I've ever encountered when making a purchase. I dont know if he is the owner but he is the most rude, no service, no customers-related person I've ever meet. I didn't ask for full refund but a compensation for the first shot and I gave them the information I could sue them for fake papers, but I wouldn't and the guy hung up and told me to sue them. My husband and I bought our puppy from here on 3-9-19 and so far, he is great!! He likes to play and explore around the house. I honestly was very nervous coming here after reading the reviews but a friend of mine had recommended this place to me as she had bought her puppy from here with no issues. We had gone to other puppy stores in NY and NJ. For yorkies they were all asking at least $3,000 plus. If I was planning on spending that much, I would've went straight to a breeder. In regarding the price, when you call or email them, they give you a lower price to get you in and then it ends up being more. A woman I met there came from another state as well and had mentioned to me how they lied about pricing, which sucks, but that's how they get you! We played with a bunch of puppies before we could decide on one. I was there for about an hour or more. A lot of them were active so I am unsure why someone on here said they all looked sicked. The females were more mellow than the males. They had a huge selection of puppies and different breeds. The woman who helped us at the store was very pleasant and friendly. She gave a lot of information as well. I like that they give you a puppy package with stuff to take home for your new baby! We went to the vet 4 days later in NJ and they said our puppy was healthy and needed to grow a little more before we could give him more vaccines. He was 1.4 pounds when we bought him! He did have a little ear infection but the vet insured us it was nothing to worry about and gave us ear drops for him. While I was leaving the vet all the woman surrounded us to see our tiny pup! A woman had asked me where I got him and once I said Brooklyn she knew right away! She got 2 pups from here and said they were great. Her 1 pup had passed away and she lived to be 13 years old. A friendly lady grooming her apricot toy poodle greeted us a week prior to our purchase and stated a line usually forms around midnight the night before and customers are shown their puppies first come first served. My husband wanted to get better selection of puppies so we arrived at 4am on Friday. A list was presented to him to put down his name/breed selection/contact number. We were numbers 8, 9, & 10. We decided to wait in the car for the remainder of the night until they opened but about an hour later several other customers arrived and were not willing to go by the list. This forced many already on the list to get out of their cars and wait standing in front of the shop outside. Fortunately we had 2 lawn chairs and my husband and older son sat in the cold dark night for puppies...ain't that swell?! Around 7am the staff started handing out numbers and tickets and the three of us were given one ticket #8. Guaranteed at least 3 puppies we were feeling pretty excited and went back into the car to wait for our call as more and more people started to show up. By 10am we receive the call and make our way to the shop. We learn quickly no 9, and 10 were already in the store shopping and a customer not on the list is being shown into the shop. A very rude man proceeds to shout at me and my younger kids to move away from the door (where we were putting gloves on to practice social distancing) or he will scratch our names off the list. I explain I received a call and we were getting ready to go in. He says get the f@$? away from the door or we won't be shopping for any puppies. Appalled and so annoyed with his vulgar in front of my kids I do as he says and explain to the kids we need to leave because if he treats customers waiting to buy 3 dogs with such anger...surely the pups can't be treated much nicer. Long story short, and several people who arrived after us having gone in we finally make our way in only for him to separate me from my family. Upon entering, I was underwhelmed with the lack of puppies and selections. I did not find one single yorkie I wanted to bring home. The teddy bear I was looking for were all shih tzus and there were plenty of Maltese. Ready to leave, my youngest picks out one of two brown puppies (morkies). As my son held the morkie, the rude door man starts hollering once again so I announce to our kids enough play time we need to leave. The staff inside starts hollering back and telling the door man to get out and quit the attitude. My youngest starts crying saying he loves the morkie...geez. I remind him we came in here for one yorkie, one teddy bear(for friend) and possible one coton du Tulear(for uncle) and this morkie is neither. My kid starts promising the moon and stars if we just get him this one dog. We already have 3 dogs at home so I remind him we have no shortage. My husband decides alright pick ONE dog .... he stays behind to sign paperwork and we leave the store so other shoppers can come in. An hour later my husband hands me two documents and asks me to help fill them out. He purchased the only 2 morkies in the shop that day. He says it was too pathetic to leave one behind as they are a pair from the same litter. Shocked, in disbelief and slightly disturbed...I help fill out the paperwork as the kids waited in the car. I had him carry both boxes to the car and the kids cheered for him and his crazy decision. I waited to submit a review because I wanted to be sure the puppies are healthy and thriving. The reason for the three stars is because it is a long process to get in to the store, a timed visit when you finally make it in to select a dog, and a lengthy process to complete purchase. The shop is so small, the kennels are cramped and puppy selection is limited and scarce. We returned home by 2pm and all of us were exhausted. The puppies came with a mandatory puppy package which we purchase. This included food and vitamins, although we didn't need to use them it was a good safety net should issues arise we had adequate supply and were prepared to care for the puppies. Along with their puppy package we also received certificates for free checkups/vaccines/blood test/fecal test for a year at a few local veterinarians, so it's a bonus if you live in Brooklyn. While we lucked out with vibrant, playful puppies (possibly because they arrived that morning and were only at the shop for a mere few hours) though still a $5,000 purchase should at least be a little more pleasant. I decided to take the puppy to another well known vet in Brooklyn NOT THE PUPPY BOUTIQUE affiliated HOWARD BEACH VETERINARY SERVICES only to find out I was sold a complete LIE the vet stated the puppy is unfit for purchase he had no body mass to even get his set of annual shots nor has no body mass to even draw blood AND was UNFIT FOR PURCHASE AND WOULDN'T MAKE IT, upon purchase I was told the pup was 2 pounds and that he was a TOY POODLE as I have paper work that the pet store provided which he a TOY POODLE . When the puppy was scaled AT the vet he weighed 1.2 pounds at the vets office . So once given this horrific news I cried my eyes an heart out I Went back to this store and the store clerk then pointed at a Toy poodle which was two months old like the " TOY POODLE " I purchased that toy poodle she picked up was much more bigger and only $1000 come to find out the clerk she continued talking only to state I was sold a TEACUP POODLE which is a much smaller dog for $1402 an was way more money. Once I contacted the store letting them know i went to the vet even brought in the medical paperwork from the vet directly to them them they were eager to take the pup back an give a refund I WONDER WHY BECAUSE YOU GUYS KNOW EXACTLY WHAT SHADY DISGUSTING BUSINESS YOU'RE RUNNING. This place is a puppy mill pet store. The guy store manager was rude and standoff. We asked for basic information about a puppy we were interested in such as the puppy's parents, medical and breeder information and he got pissed. He told us he will only give us paperwork if we buy the dog and no information can be provided. The place also smells like shit with all the puppies in cages pooping and peeing on each other. Noone cleans the puppies and they have poop stuck to their paws and behind. Many of the puppies were lying there very dazed looking as if they were on a lot of medication.
