This is not the same Pupatella I've tried in 2018 in Arlington! No, it's not! This brand has matured a lot! This isn't a restaurant ! This is another Stargate that takes you to Napoli from the DMV in 90 seconds! The moment I entered the restaurant , I smelled heaven!! Italian heaven, to be specific! I placed my order to go, a very nice girl under training ( they just opened this location ) , and she took my name and number as the system will text me once the order is ready! Then I left to take my photos and I came back inside to find them looking for me because the order is ready!! It was so fast! I was super impressed! I ordered Prosciutto arugula pizza on white sauce instead of red and a Calabrese pizza! Also, a Frittura sampler and Tiramisu The only item that didn't impress me was only the Tiramisu ! Come on! The place that made these great pizzas and arancini can definitely make a better authentic Tiramisu ;) but that's ok! The two pizzas were a tale !! Amazing ! I can't wait to go back and try other varieties! Also, I'm pretty sure they use healthy ingredients! I ate the whole pizza 11" as they recommend and I didn't feel heavy and sick after it!! The pizza was light , thin , and tasty, and the crust was amazing ! If you don't like thin pizza ( the real thing!), please try it here or avoid completely lol ! But try it because you will change your mind forever! They are certified! Yes, Neapolitana pizza has a certification! From Pupatella website and menu: Pupatella is honored to be certified by Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, a legal Italian entity which defines what the true Neapolitan Pizza is, and ensures that each certified pizzeria observes strict traditional Neapolitan pizza making rules. They were recently chosen between the top 10 Napolitana pizza around the WORLD ! They have a very nice bar and it looks like the bar has an outdoor side too , it's really cool but of course it was closed since it's very cold outside. The restaurant was stacked with staff, and I loved seeing that! That's smart even if it was only for the opening. That's cool because they were so busy, and I still can't realize how they made my pizza that fast and that good! No mistake! Staff were so friendly and welcoming and were explaining everything nicely. They have a gelato that they serve in cups ! One, two, or three scoops! I'm so happy for this chain expanding everywhere and that they are finally closer to me! Try it, vote for the review , message me, or compliment me with any comment or question, and don't forget to ... Pray for me ;) read more

Could take it or leave it...the pizza is just 'meh' IMHO since I'm used to REALLY AUTHENTIC TASTY THIN CRUST NYC pizza!!! This crust was just so SUPER chewy through and through. It did not have that authentic crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside texture I was looking for. The toppings were good but not great. We ordered the prosciutto, arugula, pizza, and the Frittura (which tasted frozen and reheated) sampler. Both were just OK and satisfied our hunger, but nothing to make us desiring to look forward returning to anytime soon or ever at all when there are MUCH more superior pizza restaurants closer to where I live. So sorry for this review, but I have to be honest for the sake of my fellow Yelpers. read more

Not a fan. Had delivery and pizza was 21 minutes late (granted this was a Friday night) but still. When we received the pizza, it was cold. Thank goodness there were reheating instructions on the box. Pizza wasn't bad, but not good enough for two personal pizzas and $8 delivery (only to be late) and a total of $60+. Maybe in store would be better. read more

We have eaten at pupatella's twice, once for carry out. We've ordered the diavola, buffaletta, and onion pie. By far the onion pie (despite it not having their amazing red sauce) is my favorite. My husband loves the diavola which never is short of meat and toppings. Service is always fantastic...as a matter of fact, everyone working tonight welcomed us with open arms and with a toddler you never experience that! They gave us a shirt and let our little man practice being floor manager for the night while we enjoyed our beer and wine. Stopped in on a Saturday for lunch. It wasn't busy when we arrived but it picked up later. The menu has lots of options but we stick with the pizza. I had a Diet Coke and my wife got the unsweetened tea with a shot of mango. I got the margherita DOC and my wife got the capricciosa. Typically it has kalamata olives but theirs doesn't so we added it for an extra dollar. Both pizzas were delicious but did not come out piping hot as they should from the oven. They asked if we wanted Parmesan cheese which we do. We got cannolis for dessert and they were fresh. The total bill was $61 with tip. If the pizzas were hot we would have given a 5 star rating. We will still go back and would highly recommend it. read more

My family ordered take out from Pupatella in Chantilly. We ordered, the brussel sprouts, panzarotti, garlic and cheese bread, caivano, chorizo, margarita and a pepperoni. The crust was on the thinner size, but flavorful, the ingredients were very fresh, the sauce was sweet and savory at the same time. The appetizers were well prepared. We had leftover pizza the next day that I put on a pizza pan at 450 for 10 minutes and my husband claimed it was even better the next day. Next time, I would go in person. read more

I see many recommendations for Pupatella so decided to check it out. I recently ordered a pepperoni pizza and added sausage to the order. The pizza was $22.39 with tax and tip, for an 11" pie -- a bit pricier than other local joints, some of which offer 14" pepperoni pizzas for $9.99 lately. The pizza was very tasty and I appreciate that they: 1) use quality ingredients including in the dough and red sauce; 2) use enough red sauce that you can taste it, which makes a difference; and 3) use crumbled sausage and not big sausage chunks or slices, as doing it this way spreads the sausage all around the pie. The crust was not my favorite though: good dough, and good around the edges, but very floppy in the center to the point of feeling undercooked there. I liked what I ordered and some day might try a more "sophisticated" pie of theirs, they have good looking menu selections. But if the crust is consistently floppy in the middle, that will probably be it for me. I ordered carry out but the ambiance looked nice when I picked it up, and the order was ready on time which is increasingly uncommon so points for that. read more

First off, we were welcomed warmly as soon as we entered. It was a large party of 10 on a Thursday night. Awesome service (from start to finish)! Our server was polite, helpful, quick and did well with anticipating our needs. This might be the most true to Italy pizza l've had in the US. They don't over sauce, over cheese, over topping you to death, it's simple pizza that lets the quality of the tomatoes and crust shine through. Very cozy atmosphere, spacious, clean and well-lit. General manager was very friendly. This was an incredible night to celebrate my husband's birthday with a fam. Can't wait to go back! read more

We both ended up liking this sub so much that we've now had it two more times. This sub consists of: "capicola, mortadella, pepperoni, Genoa salami, lettuce, tomato and provolone cheese." We got them with oil and vinegar and a sprinkling of salt and pepper. The second time we ordered 2 subs using Doordash. These subs came with the default toppings which are mayonnaise, onions and hot peppers. We both agreed that we prefer them with just the oil and vinegar plus salt and pepper. These subs are the best we've had. The bread is soft and fresh plus the family who owns the place knows how to assemble a sub so that everything is packed in well, thus making it easier to eat. All the ingredients are fresh and flavorful. The family who runs it is very friendly. We were pleasantly surprised when we went there recently, since we were in the area, and decided to buy 2 subs to go, that the lady who waited on us when we first went there, remembered us! The one drawback---They are located in an office park. Thus their business hours correspond to regular work hours. On Thursday and Friday, they do stay open until 6 p.m. They are closed on the weekends. So...basically, it's a hidden gem. If you like subs, it's worth a visit or an order on Doordash. And, yes, we will be back!

We recently hosted a party celebration at Pupatella, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! Marissa and the entire staff went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. They were incredibly attentive to our group of 25, always checking in and making sure everyone had what they needed. One of the highlights was having a section reserved just for us, which made the event feel private and special. I also appreciated how easy it was to coordinate ahead of time--I preordered the food, and when we arrived, the appetizers were already set up and waiting for our guests. Everyone showed up hungry and left completely satisfied. The service, organization, and overall atmosphere made our celebration stress-free and enjoyable. Highly recommend for hosting group events! read more

My spouse and I spontaneously chose to visit Pupatella on a rainy evening. Upon entering, we were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance, which exceeded our expectations. It truly felt like a cozy and intimate setting for dinner. Our server, Anthony, was exceptionally attentive and remarkably friendly. The quality of service was outstanding, enhancing our overall dining experience. I prefer to discuss the food last, as it was truly exceptional. The ingredients were fresh, and every dish was cooked to perfection; even the gelato was simply irresistible! While I typically avoid franchise restaurants, this establishment has set a high standard, ensuring that we will return in the near future. read more

Just not a place I'll frequent as often anymore, unfortunately. Really had hoped this wouldn't happen because they were so awesome when they opened. While still a decent tasting pizza, the value just isn't there anymore. The crust used to have this unique crunchy chewy texture and was really tasty. Now, the crust seems to be more like that thin cardboardy kinda crust many pizza places unfortunately have. Just kinda yucky and ruins the pizza. We used to really enjoy their other non pizza menu items, too, but they're just not appealing anymore, the portions have really shrunk, and are now really pricey for what you get. They never fill beverage cups so that they're full & they use small cups as it is. Masala Pizza was never inexpensive to begin with, and now prices have gone up at least $2-$3 an item. Value has plummeted. I believe I could get grub I'm happier with and probably more of it than spending $50 on a couple of thin, rather skimpy mediocre pizzas. To be honest, I'd rather just spend the money at the grocery store to eat for a week. Too much cumulative skimping they probably hope you won't notice while your dollars free flow into their possession. Service is always polite & it's still pretty easy to place orders. There are a few small tables inside which won't accommodate groups, though we were once told that we could sit outside at the tea place next door. More fitting as a place to primarily pick up your food and go.

Something to be aware of --- Mika's is the third pizza place to occupy this space. The previous two places made decent pizzas. The first place even made coal-fired pizzas. We were at Mika's for an early dinner, and the place was just about empty. When we entered, a young woman greeted us and served us. She told us to sit wherever we wanted. To drink, we both had ginger ales. After looking at the menu, we decided to order a "DOC" Margherita instead of the non-"DOC" one. We got a ten-inch pizza. BTW, the difference between DOC and non-DOC is that the DOC has smooth, watery tomato sauce and bison mozzarella, while the non-DOC has a chunky tomato sauce and mozzarella made from cow's milk. Even though we were among the only ones in the place, the pizza still took what seemed like a long time. Plus, it sat in the window longer than it needed to. The pizza needed to be baked longer and have less sauce. It was messier than average to eat. Careful as I was, when I got a slice, some cheese and sauce fell off. Two bites had cheese with an unpleasant taste, and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. My husband was so hungry that he ordered a second DOC margherita pizza. I hoped this one would be prepared better, but sadly it wasn't. As far as ambiance goes, it has the exact same furnishings as its predecessors. The jury is still out on giving them another chance.
