Give me a break with this place ... Open 5 days a week, beginning at 11 am, and are open basically anywhere from 2-4 hours a day, depending upon when they run out of meat (which they always do). Closed every day at dinner time. They have 2 main meat bbq items - brisked and pulled pork (think they also have sausage). They run out of 1 or both of these items anywhere from 12-3 pm on the days they are open. Really? Who runs out of a main menu item 1-1.5 hours after they open?? Why bother opening at all? Finally - they don't take phone orders - I'm not joking. They expect you to show up during the middle of the day (which is a work day for many) and wait on line with the hope that you're lucky enough to get some meat for dinner. Their website is largely devoted to a long-winded explanation as to why all of this happens - sorry, I'm not buying it - many restaurants (including other bbq places) could come up with a similar explanation as to why they're only open a few hours and regularly run out of product a few hours after they open. To be fair, they do have pretty good bbq, but what all of the above strikes me as is a form of arrogance, that we as customers should be privileged to partake of their bbq - from my perspective, it's business/owner's needs comes first, customer needs comes second. That's not how you should run a business. Hopefully, they change their methodology and mind-set (unlikely). If not, they should allow a more customer-friendly/available business to move in instead. read more

This place was an amazing find. It's a small place on Mill Road (aka Route 513) in Long Valley, NJ. My wife and I have driven past it dozens of times and finally decided to stop to check it out. They have a large smoker in the parking area that gives off a heavenly aroma. I arrived just before they opened and met one of the owners, Jen, while she was setting up outside. I was greeted and treated like I was long lost family. It's mainly takeout but they have some small tables on their deck. They open at 11am and close when they run out of food. I understand that happens, understandably, fairly quickly so get there early. We tried their chopped brisket and were blown away by the freshness and smokey tangy flavor. Their onion rings and coleslaw were exceptional. Jen treated us to sweet tea popsicles and a wonderful warm corn pudding. We will definitely become regulars here. read more

I finally had a chance to grab some lunch at Pulled Fork BBQ. I read so many awesome reviews I cannot believe it took me 3 years to finally get there. Although there window of being open daily depends on when they run out of food. I can now taste why they are closed as early as 2pm some days. This place is amazing. I had the Texas Reuben with the pulled pork. It was simply perfection on Texas toast. The pork was the BEST smoked flavor and the moistest I have ever had. The homemade coleslaw and there signature russian dressing was spot on. Had a side of perfectly crispy onion rings with a chipolte style dipping sauce and there Hell Yeah Corn (creamed corn with a bit of spicy pepper and onions and topped with bacon which was fantastic. I cannot wait to try all the other items on the menu. Truly the best BBQ I ever had. And by the way the owners are the friendliest people around! read more

This food is amazing! Did takeout yesterday, brisket, pulled pork, they ran out of ribs (I'll now be on a mission for their ribs). Phenomenal. Great rub flavor, tender meat, very good. The sides were great too; beans, slaw, corn bread pudding.. the beans were great-not a baked bean and not the usual, very good. Tater tots were super good. There were several BBQ places around but none were all that good, and most of them went out of business. This place is a great find and better than anything around. It is tough enough to get decent que of any type in NJ and you most often find pulled pork that is ok and ribs that are NOT smoked. This is the QUE you are looking for. Best Brisket in NJ and second place isn't even close. Absolutely love that it is small scale, honest to goodness cooking with smoke. My only problem is figuring out how to not eat so much brisket so I can try the cobbler dessert which I hear is amazing. read more

Perhaps the cook (not chef), was not on the day we had the ribs. We (4 diners) ordered 4 full racks. We were all extremely disappointed. Please know, I'm a foodie, and when I prepare ribs, they melt in your mouth. Unfortunately, this was not the case at this BBQ joint. The ribs were under cooked by at least 2 or more hours. They were greasy, fatty, and the meat had to be surgical cut off the bone. At the end of dinner, My wife and I took home a little over a rack. The next day, I slow cooked the ribs for approx. 2 hours to render the fat down, which yielded a perfectly tender and juicy rib. The front of this establishment looks impressive with the large smokers outside, now they need someone who knows how to use them. They also need improve, the side dishes. If you do decide to dine at this restaurant, make sure to ask for fall off the bone ribs. You might get lucky. read more

Very good food and nice people but three problems 1. Food took a while because they were busy 2. They forgot one of our sandwiches (very annoying) and 3. We ordered a ton of food for takeout and they didn't include a single utensil or napkin... it was a takeout order and they didn't ask nor have anything available to take so I assumed they would have included. Between forgetting a sandwich and not giving or asking about any utensils for a takeout order I'm tempted to give them one star, but it's obviously a small family operation so I'll give them a pass. read more

What an amazing BBQ restaurant. I'd stack this up against the best places I've been down south; it's that good. We had the pulled pork sandwich, the quesadilla, and the ribs. Everything was awesome! Seating is limited -- there's room for maybe 10 people, and that's snug. There are a couple of picnic tables outside, so more room in warmer weather. Highly recommended. Stop by to check out Pulled Fork bbq on a beautiful afternoon, a cute little establishment with a couple of tables and benches on the covered front porch. Also have a couple of tables inside. It's a family business and they could not be nicer as having moved their business from another local location to Long Valley. The pulled pork sandwiches, brisket and pulled pork soft tacos, corn pudding, cole slaw and french fries were exceptional. Open Tuesday through Saturday from 11am until "we sell out." My boyfriend and I stopped in here while driving through town. The owners are amazingly sweet and friendly; we felt like old friends while at their establishment. The food is superb; we purchased: the chicken fried steak sandwich, tater tots, cole slaw and funnel fries. As someone who can be quite picky as to where they eat, this place is a smash hit and will be a must for us to stop in. Finally succeeded in visiting midweek in the mid-afternoon when they hadn't yet sold out. In fact I got the last serving of brisket. We got one order of pulled pork and one of brisket plus an order of cole slaw and corn pudding. All were delicious! The amount of meat served on each bun (also very tasty) was enough for two sandwiches and next time I will divide the filling for a second serving. the cole slaw was the vinegar style and a good balance of sweet/sour and the corn pudding was moist and full of corn kernals and cornbread. I learned that one reason they are routinely sold out of food by lunch time is that people buy the brisket or pulled pork by the pound, many buying 4lbs each, by lunchtime, so their filling disappears fast with nothing left to use for later sales. I think I was told they go through 300lbs/day! So I recommend stopping in midweek and as early as possible! Hope they can add a second smoker though so they can increase their supply for those of us who want it for dinner. read more

The Pulled Fork has quickly become a family favorite! The brisket and pork are smoked to perfection and allowed a day of "rest" so the meat is really juicy and flavorful (you can tell the owners take great pride in what they do). The portions are very generous and the staff are all very friendly and go the extra mile. Highly recommend the brisket tacos and the Texas Hold 'Em grilled cheese. Great spot....for more reasons than you would think! It was a rainy, crappy day in November of 2020. NOTHING IS GOING RIGHT AT THIS POINT, YOU ALL KNOW THIS. I was out running errands, as I try to do as little as possible. I had a taste for BBQ for a few weeks, but all of the real bbq places by me closed before or during COVID. I took the trip (over 40 minutes) on a whim. When I got there, I was told they were out of brisket. I said thank you, and went back to my truck. It could have ended there and I still would have gone back. Any good barbecue place only sells as much as they make for that day, and I just wasn't on time. Just as I started my truck, I noticed a man Approaching and it was the owner. He told me they didn't have enough for a full order to sell me, but offered me a large and very tasty sample. Their customer service is almost as good as their barbecue and I can't wait to get some more. Thank you Pulled Fork for making my day better. read more

Wow!!!! I am so happy that someone posted this place on a Facebook site. I have been craving good bbq since moving to the hackettstown area. I finally found it!!! I called and placed an order for pick up and ordered the pulled pork and brisket. I also ordered spoon bread corn pudding and the corn with bacon and peppers. I also ordered coleslaw, onion rings and fries. Let me just say that everything was incredible. The slaw was creamy and delicious. My daughter loved the seasoning on the shoestring fries. The homemade bbq sauce was spicy and tangy. Such good flavor in everything. We will definitely be ordering again soon. read more

Went to PFBBQ for lunch the other day, my 2nd time there and was very impressed with the food I enjoyed while sitting on their front porch, social distancing, of course. I had the brisket sandwich and the corn cheddar jalapeño pudding (SO GOOD!) The brisket sandwich was over flowing the bun, it was lean and tender with nice smokey flavor. The corn pudding is kind of a misnomer, it's more like a soft corn bread in a bowl mixed with cheddar cheese and jalapeño's which gave it nice flavor with a little spiciness, but it's not real hot. I'm sure that isn't on my diet, but it was so worth the calories! I would say the food here is as good as the BBQ I've had in Texas. Unfortunately I only live about 3 miles from PFBBQ and the temptation to head there a few times a week is strong! ;) read more

When people go out of their way to get there during limited open hours, when they consistently sell out, and when the best treat for your family is a trip to eat there! These folks know what they are doing. Fresh food every day, because they sell out every day. Sit and talk with the hardest working, nicest owners around! The reason it's so damned yummmmma is because they spend hours making incredible fresh food every day, and it ALL goes fast cause it's THAT GOOD. I read through some of these reviews and they are all positive; the negative ones make me laugh because it's only negative from spoiled babies who are mad because they didn't get there before they sold out so they are stomping their feet and throwing a tantrum. Anyone who eats it..LOVES IT! Yes, if you don't get there in time, ya might miss it. Yup, they might sell out before you can get there. Yup, they cater to the people who show up in person instead of those that call in. The system works and it's SO worth it to just GO because it is THAT GOOD. No, they don't over make and sell crappy left overs the next day. Duh. They've got it going ON! I suppose their corned bread pudding is a dessert, but I'll eat it as a meal because it is...EVERYTHING good in a container. OMG. And they have this broccoli salad that is to die for.
